Shields snapped into place, phasers and photon banks showing green as klaxons rang throughout the ship, the bridge lighting dimming, the familiar flash of red lights crisscrossing bridge stations.

The ship continued its approach. It would be within visual range in two minutes, weapons range within four.

As the klaxon’s rang and the red light flooded the Bridge, Erin felt nauseous. She was a scientist, not a soldier. After her short stint on the Dresden, when Hazen had applied to Starfleet, she had envisioned an opportunity for scientific research. Instead, she felt like she was doing her sister’s job. Was this her sister’s job?

Shaking her head to dismiss the thoughts running wild in her mind, Erin’s eyes snapped back to her console, her fingers pressing buttons trying to see if she could find out any kind of information on the signal that could give her more than just a Starfleet signature. Maybe there was an irregular frequency pattern, or any other anomalies that might give her some sort of clue as to what was going on.

Erin felt more comfortable when she knew the facts. And she was determined to use the full power of her science console to get them.

Lt. (j.g.) Hazen, Science

Long range scans determined that the IFF signature matched the U.S.S Sikeston, an old Andromeda class that was currently assigned to the personal command of Vice Fleet Admiral Brenna Burnett. As the ship passed within short range scanners, it detected that weapons were not charged. As they passed within weapons range, a hail was received.

GM

“Long range scans show the signature belonging to the USS Sikeston, Coo– uh, Lieutenant.” Erin told the Asimov’s navigator. “Command says it is currently assigned to the personal command of Vice Fleet Admiral Brenna Burnett.” She glanced nervously at Gavin wondering what would happen next.

OOC: With her being on LOA for a few days, Tyra very kindly gave me permission to use and abuse her character so that we can get things swinging a little faster.

The Bridge doors parted, revealing a slightly desheveled Captain Greer, adjusting her uniform tunic. She strode out of the turbolift, eyeballing the bridge before calling “Report” as a general call to all stations.

OOC: Just a small reminder to please remember that the Asimov is a ‘Slow’ posting ship, we don’t want it to move too fast so we can give others a chance to join in as well. Wouldn’t do for someone to come back to find debris and their favorite pajamas floating in vacuum :p Not that it would ever happen… of course.... right?

Mason walked in slightly after the Captain, but didn’t pause and simply walked straight to his chair expecting and trusting that the crew were doing their assigned tasks. Once the Captain called for a report he nodded to Cooper as the Officer on the Bridge.

“Take your Station Lieutenant,” he said by way of relieving the helmsman of his current position. “Any other ships on sensors?”

Cmdr Black, XO

Sensor scans would reveal a Cressari freighter at the extreme edge of sensor range, but nothing else.

Cooper rose quickly from the Chair and settled into his helm station. Firing up his sensor suite, the Lieutenant glanced across his readings and replied smartly. “Commander, I called the Alert in response to the detection of a warp signature that was determined to be on an intercept course with us. Tactical and Science sensors indicate the vessel is a registered Starfleet warp signature with shields up. IFF was a match for an old Andromeda class vessel, the U.S.S Sikeston, personal command of Vice Fleet Admiral Brenna Burnett. Her weapons are currently not charged. Only other vessel near is a Cressari freighter at extreme sensor range. Under such a situation, I called the alert to prepare for assistance response.”

The voice of the CMO came across the comms. =/\=Sickbay to Bridge. We are prepared and ready to receive casualties. =/\=

Vock, CMO

“Thank you Mr Vock, standby.” Mason said as he sat in his chair and awaited the comm signal to be relayed in from the other ship.

Cmdr Black, XO

=/\= Counselor McKenzie to bridge, =/\= came the voice of John-King McKenzie to the bridge, =/\= Bridge, if the helm officer is indisposed, please be aware that I have fully completed all necessary pilot courses for Counselors to take the helm in red alert situations, including Crashlanding on Class M planets and Avoiding incoming phaser fire and torpedoes. Say the word, and I am your man. Besides, I still have to put in another 2500 of flight hour training before I’ve achieved the necessary hours to do so to keep my hand in. =/\=

The helmsman cleared his throat looked at the XO. “Sir… the Sikeston is hailing.”

Cooper, Helm

Natalie stepped onto the Bridge “Mr. Black. What is our current situation?” She asked taking in the ship that was on sensors “Who’s coming to visit?” She asked taking her chair and trying to look as relaxed as possible given the information that she had recently received from the CMO.

CO

OOC: Posting for our CSO who posted a minute before our dear Captain.

IC: (For Steph)

As the helmsman reported the hail, Persephone moved onto the bridge towards the science station. “Captain,” she murmured and nodded in recognition to Captain as well as a nod to the XO. She then settled into the number two seat beside the science officer at their station. Her smiled and nod to the woman encouraged her to continue whatever she was furiously researching. Seph then set to her own console to see what the woman was searching and see if she could help, or could assist the CO.

Lt Persephone Milestone
CSO

“Captain, we have the U.S.S. Sikeston approaching fast with shields raised, no weapons. Lieutenant Cooper had the Bridge, and moved us to Red Alert in response to the intercept and possible trouble. She is under the Command of Vice Fleet Admiral Brenna Burnett, according to the files and, she is hailing us.”

Mason looked to Cooper and nodded, “On screen please, Mr Cooper.”

Cmdr Black, XO

Natalie took her seat and waited for the screen to light up “Take us to yellow alert and keep shields up until we figure put what’s going on.” Why was the Admiral out this far and why were they on an intercept course. The meeting she had just had put her on edge

CO

“Aye Captain,” Mason said, and nodded to Tactical to carry out the instructions.

Seconds later, the alarms changed from Red to Yellow alert.

Cmdr Black, XO

Paris came up and relieved the ensign at tactical. One could only run so fast to the bridge when you were not on the bridge and off duty. Luckily whatever had happened allowed Mason to drop to yellow alert giving Paris time to catch up on what was happening on the bridge.
