Natlie looked at Jarett “What do you know about this attack?” She asked coldly “And you can quit jeering at me. It makes me think that you and the admiral are involved in this even more than I did when the Admiral was here.” She said “SO start sharing!” She commanded.

Jarrett’s face was the picture of innocence as he stared back at Greer before a smirk crept into the corners of his lips. He went to dismissively shrug, but paused partially through the motion, leaving his shoulders in quite the amusing position. “You might want to try looking, oh, over there a little more,” he commented, waving his hand dismissively at the view screen in front of them, despite the fact that the Asimov was already at the coordinates indicated in the reports.

Natalie had had enough and turned on Jarrett walking over to him she grabbed him by the front of his uniform and shoved him against the wall of the bridge, a display of temper that none of her crew had ever seen in the normally quiet captain, pinning him to the wall with her prosthetic arm, making it very clear that she meant business “I already have orders from Admiral Jefferson to throw your butt in the brig and charge you with treason. ” She said “When I ask you a question or any of my crew ask you a question, you will answer that question with something more than a shrug or I will personally haul your sorry backside to the Brig and make sure that you are as uncomfortable as possible.” Natalie looked him directly in the eye “Do I make myself clear. I will not get my crew killed because of you and Admiral Jefferson can get your five seconds of fame.”

“Commander Black pull up the message from Admiral Jefferson about this situation.” She said “Greer Alpha 2 Omega”. Natalie’s statements were not untrue and Admiral Jefferson expressed concerns about the entire situation and gave orders to put Jarrett in the Brig if he failed to cooperate.

Jarrett’s face remained remarkably blank as Greer pushed him against the wall of the bridge. Again, a smirk danced at the edges of his lips as he studied the woman intently in a not entirely professional manner. “Captain, if you’ve needed to get your hands on me that badly, we certainly could have arranged something for off-duty hours,” he replied. The smirk took over his entire face as he stage-whispered, “I think the crew might be getting the wrong idea.” A slight twist of his body later and he was free from her grasp. “I’m most interested to hear what Admiral Jefferson had to say about my contributions to her staff, though. Maybe we can work out a bit of a trade of information…”

GM

Vock watched the Captain and Jarrett’s exchange with a blank expression. As Jarrett made his offer, Vock said in a volume only slightly louder than normal “Captain. If I may?” and he moved closer to the the pair against the wall. Lowering his voice so that only the Captain and Jarrett, and perhaps anyone close by could hear, he said “Captain. I believe there may be another avenue we could pursue. I could attempt to extract the information from our… guest… through my abilities with telepathy.” Nothing in Vock’s record would have indicated that he was adept in such matters, but it was common knowledge that Vulcans possessed such abilities.

Looking from the Captain to Jarrett, Vock’s tone took on a somewhat odd tone as he said “Although I will have to state clearly that I am not as well versed in the performance of such links as many of my species. While I am quite certain I can protect myself from harm, I cannot guarantee Mr. Jarrett’s mental or physical well-being if this course of action is deemed necessary.” and he leaned in to Jarrett and a fire was visible in his eyes that was very uncharacteristic of Vulcans, although his face remained passive. “And having experienced first hand what these other cases may have suffered, and the loss of two innocent lives because of it, I don’t really see how anyone hiding such information from us at this time is of any concern or use to us, unless they provide answers to our questions. So their safety and continued ability to speak and not drool, discern colors, or count to five is really of no importance to our mission.” He then stood back and looked at Greer.

Vock, CMO

Jarrett shifted his focus briefly from Greer to Vock as a bemused look came over his face. In a tone somewhat reminiscent of a pleasant discussion about the current weather patterns, he replied, “if you touch me, you will regret it.” His flashy white grin emphasized his point as he shook his head mockingly. “Captain, your crew really leaves something to be desired so far. Perhaps you should be using that… strong… arm… of yours on them instead of me.”

GM

Vock cocked his head to the side slightly and with a blank expression on his face said simply “I don’t know if you know this or not, Sir, But I am a Vulcan. Regrets are an emotional response that is simply not part of my psychological profile.”

Glancing at the developments, Mason looked to Paris. Reading the expression on her face it was clear to him that she was considering shooting the man in the butt cheek.

Paris toyed with the phaser at her hip. Mason was right. This guy was the type of guy one left on missions or was killed on missions due to his stupidity and arrogance. Maybe a little comeuppance was just what the doctor should order and Paris could carry it out. No one spoke to the crew or her captain that way. Come on Paris just do it. Nail him in the left arse cheek and claim it was a phaser malfunction. With a limp due to his leg going numb to the hip, it would be hard to smirk like that, Paris thought and the glanced at the XO.

“Sir,” Paris said looking at Mason. He would know her well enough to give her the okay to stun the man. As security chief, she could claim that the man appeared to be a threat. Greer could turn him inside out without breaking a sweat but that would not be as satisfying to Paris. Regulations stated that if there was a clear and present danger to the crew Paris was within her rights to open fire on the smug arsehole or resist leaving the bridge. If Greer ordered him off and he did not follow that would be another reason to use force and shoot him for his holier than thou attitude. All she needed was the slightly hint or command and Jarrett would go down. Paris would not lose an ounce of sleep over the action.

Lt. Commander Paris Carisi COS

Jarrett’s gaze drifted slowly over to Carisi at her spoken word. He gave her a charming, toothy grin before returning his attention to the CO.

GM

‘I do believe that Jarret may be trying to escape, Commander Carisi. If he moves, or tries to further evade the Captain, stun him, this is getting us nowhere.” Turning to his panel, he brought up the file the Captain had requested using her code.
