“Course set for rendezvous with USS Asimov. Captain,” NE Rufus said from the helm of the shuttle Drudoc had loaned to Starr for his transfer. With a PaDD in his hand, he started going over the specs for the Brazen class that he had been assigned. The ship was to undertake a shakedown cruise just before the handover, so he had time to familiarize himself with everything. From the specs alone, he could tell the ship was much smaller than his previous posting. He had another stack of PaDDs next to him for the journey, the personnel files of the crew that he would be working with. He had some light reading, and by the time he had finished everything, Rufus spoke up from the helm “The Asimov is within hailing range, Captain,”The ship was much smaller than Simon’s last posting, but that meant more maneuverability. He was already thinking of the strategic advantages of the size. Something that the Ark Angel was lacking, but it had weapons to compensate. “Captain Simon Starr to USS Asimov. I have some transfer orders, sending them to you now,” he said over the channel as he nodded towards Burnes to begin the information.
=/\=Oh Captain, welcome aboard. Transporter Room 1 ready for transport=/\= A young nervous NE’s voice came over the channel. “Thank you, Ensigns, once I’ve departed, I’m sure the captain will want her shuttle back,” Simon commented with a smile as he went over to the small transporter PaDD in the runabout, and tapped his commbadge. =/\=Starr to Asimov, one to transport=/\= he said, giving a grateful nod and wave to the two NEs for getting him to his new posting safely as he disappeared behind the blue glow of the transporter.
NE Rivers was standing at the transporter console when Simon materialized. He stood at attention at Simon’s arrival. “Welcome aboard, Captain. I’ll inform the First Officer of your arrival” Rivers said quickly before tapping his commbadge.

=/\=On my way.=/\= Sara replied and hurried down to the transporter room. Her encounter with the previous CO had been brief, but she was eager to see their mission underway with the new Captain.
Arriving in the transporter room, Sara saw the new CO, and extended a hand. “Captain. I’m Commander Sara Kiernan. I’ll be serving as your first officer.”

Simon clasped his own hand to complete the shake “A pleasure, Commander,” he said giving a small smile. “Have you been serving aboard the Asimov long?” he asked. Of course, Sara’s file told him as much, but he had another reason for asking the question, and it was almost certain another question was going to follow it.
