Quarters: Finnegan

Finn arrived in the cargo bay, and found a lonely medical Ensign staffing. There were not many injured, and the makeshift sickbay seemed to be not full in capacity. Ensign Clancey noticed him. “Have a seat, Ensign. I’m Ensign Clancey.”

Clancey ran a medical tricorder scan. “Well, you seem to be in okay health. Aside from dehydration and malnutrition, you are otherwise mostly uninjured. Here, have some water and a standard field ration. If you are wondering, it’s the second day after the Asimov crashed. Most of the critically injured personnel have been moved to Sickbay, thanks to a makeshift turbolift that Engineering is running with Security. They are using an anti-gravity sled with a series of pulleys. You are cleared for duty, Ensign.”

A science Ensign came up, with the water and the field ration. “Here you go. I’m Ensign Maher, science division, I’ve been helping Ensign Clancey, but we’re about to shut down the makeshift sickbay to conserve more power.”

GM

Finnegan nodded, taking the cup and ration. He ate slowly, sipping after each bite, recalling he used to hate these rations. It was amazing what a little light starvation could do to a person. “Is engineering set up in main engineering?” he asked around a mouthful of ration. “I should get over there.”

“I believe so,” said Ensign Maher, “But I’ve been mostly stuck on this deck, and without our communicators, the lack of communication between decks has been mostly by word of mouth, making everything difficult.”

GM

Finnegan’s brows furrowed. “Yeah, I definitely need to get down there,” he muttered, taking another bite of the ration. He stopped his face from screwing up as a wave of bitterness washed over his tongue. This is why I didn’t like these. He pushed that to the back of his mind and swished his mouth with water before taking a smaller bite and looking around the cargo bay.

“Any supplies here? Any tools, or anything useful? Anything I need to bring to engineering?”

Finn, Engineering
