“I believe so,” said Ensign Maher, “But I’ve been mostly stuck on this deck, and without our communicators, the lack of communication between decks has been mostly by word of mouth, making everything difficult.”

GM

Finnegan’s brows furrowed. “Yeah, I definitely need to get down there,” he muttered, taking another bite of the ration. He stopped his face from screwing up as a wave of bitterness washed over his tongue. This is why I didn’t like these. He pushed that to the back of his mind and swished his mouth with water before taking a smaller bite and looking around the cargo bay.

“Any supplies here? Any tools, or anything useful? Anything I need to bring to engineering?”

Finn, Engineering

“Standard rations and water is all that we have useful on this deck. There was a fire in one of the cargo bays, I’m told that destroyed many of Engineering’s spare part supplies,” replied Ensign Maher, “Life support has been blinking in and out… I’m guessing someone is working on emergency power, or what’s left of it. I’m told a plasma storm hit the ship hard before we crashed.”

GM

Finn cursed under his breath; the adage about sailors verbal acuity had not changed when sailing the stars. “Let me get down there then to try to speed that along,” he said, swallowing what was left of the ration as he stood. “Does that makeshift lift head to engineering? Which way to it?”

Finn, Engineering

“This ship class is small, so the makeshift lift only runs up and down through all the decks. Just follow the path, security has been helping clear the debris on every deck, and engineers marked signs in rather creative ways. Head down the hall, and you won’t miss the sign to the makeshift lift.”

GM

Finn nodded and extended his hand. “Appreciate it, Ensign Maher,” he said, before heading towards the propped open doors, kit hanging from the strap crossing his body. There was a clear path, just as the ensign had said, and he was able to follow it fairly easily, and soon enough he did spot a sign directing him down a new corridor toward the lift, where he found another engineer standing near an open lift door.

“Going down?” he joked, half-heartedly, realizing even as he said it that it was in poor taste. “I need to get to engineering.”

Finn, Engineering

“I didn’t know you were interested in men,” retorted the other engineer in reply. “Alright. It should be here shortly.”

The lift arrived and soon, Finn found him in a chaos that was Engineering. The warp core was down, and he found out from the other Engineers only one fusion generator was barely operating.

GM

Finn took a moment to absorb the cacophony around him before finally shaking his head. He began rolling up his sleeves as he approached the chief, engineering kit still slung over his shoulder. “Alright, where do you need me boss?”

OOC: Do we want to keep going with this, or do we just fast forward to where you have me in the other thread? I’m game either way.

Finnegan, Engineering
