It had been an interesting several days and it was only now that the Asimov was back in what they considered normal space that the new First Officer was able to report for duty. Knowing that this might not leave the best first impression, Siadra looked down at her daughter; concern written all over her pale features. Liara had never been this clingy, but since they had boarded the transport vessel that had brought them here, her daughter had refused to leave her side. And even when Siadra had told her to stay on the Novak, she child had managed to sneak into the runabout; to scared to stay behind. With Si’Rek on the ship as well, she knew that she could have left Liara with him as long as he was available. But in the end she had decided to take her along, hoping that her new Captain would understand.
A few minutes later the pair arrived in front of the Captain’s ready room. After running her free hand over her hair, pulled back in a French braid, and her uniform jacket, Siadra pressed the chime and waited to be called inside.
