With the arrival of the runabout and the influx of supplies, Si’Rek and the entire Engineering department switched into overdrive. All the supplies from the new XO’s arrival had been inventoried and stored, ready for use. Between that and the salvage from the Ferengi ship, the Engineers began working on projects simultaneously.

Power was the first priority, and the fusion generators were being repaired and prepped for coming back online. The hull was being repaired as well, but the cables from the turbines remained as they still needed the ‘juice’ from them. Computer systems were being tested and repaired as needed as well.

“I want to know as soon as we can fire up the power grid, all right? But don’t do it until we are cleared by all teams, understood?” Si’Rek shouted over the din to a pair of legs sticking out from the generator control panel.

“Swapping out the fusion generators should only take an hour… the primary issue is hauling them in… which might take more than hour. The turbolift system is still offline as we don’t have enough power to operate them currently,” said Fixit.

“Oh… the runabout has functional transporters!” said Fixit excitedly, “We’ve been without so many modern day conveniences that we’ve been thinking out of the box so long … I forgot about that.”

GM

“Perfect!” Si’Rek said excitedly. “Lets get those generators moved and beamed in ASAP. Fixit, you’re in charge of that. I’ll go in the ship and start getting wiring done. Once you get those over, start sending the rest of the equipment to the cargo bay. Faster we get this done, faster we get off the ground.”

Si”rek spent the next twelve hours with his team setting the generators in place and getting the power on in the ship. As emergency lighting went off and regular lighting came on, people clapped and cheered. Si’Rek looked around and smiled. “Ok, girl… let’s get you up and running, shall we?” he said to the ship and patted a bulkhead.

“Ok. Lets get these hull breaches and sealed and all the gear off the upper hull. And make sure we are running structural integrity scans every step of the way. It’ll slow us down a bit, yes, but it will save us from having to back later.”

Si’Rek, CE

“Aye sir. With power restored, Chief, and the staff overworked – I assume we can slow down a little? If we keep up with this breakneck pace, we’re going to make more errors,” said Fixit.
