The two Security officers standing duty at the personnel hatch to the Asimov were still not accustomed to the odd lighting of the massive bay the ship currently sat docked in. Nor were they at all comfortable when a voice came from seemingly nowhere and said “Aye there, lad and lass, I be needin’ ta speak with yer boss… quick-like mind ya. Chop chop.” It came from a short, wiry, red-haired human male who was leaning against the rail less than two meters from them… and neither had seen or heard him arrive. “The Vulcan female officer cocked her head slightly to the side and said “And you are, sir?” The man smiled and said “Tell her Captain Elias Balthazar is here to see her.” as he pulled a slender but wicked looking stiletto seemingly form the ether and began cleaning his fingernails with it.

Bethany was waist deep in the access hatch again, working on her equipment and making sure whatever the techie people did to the ship didn’t damage her equipment. Maybe it was years of paranoia, okay it was years of paranoia, but the video feeds played constantly in her office with the one for the docking hatch taking up the majority of the main screen. “Aye there, lad and lass, I be needin’ ta speak with yer boss…” NO! She heard wrong. No she didn’t, she would never forget that voice. It haunted what nightmares she had. Bethany hit her head on the bulk head as she ejected herself out of the access hatch and stared at the screen in abject horror. She watched him die. THREE YEARS AGO! No…no no no no no, awww by the Great Fire. Asimov was small but turbolifts were slow. She took the ladder at the nearest Jefferies tube access from Deck 4 up to Deck 3 and to the port access hatch. She passed Shara on the way. She grabbed to woman by the arm and took her along with her. She stopped out of ear shot of the hatch. “Wait, watch, do NOT let that man on the ship. His name is Elias Balthazar. He was presumed dead 3 years ago. He is dangerous beyond anything you can imagine. And you’ve seen a lot.” Then she disappeared around the corner.

Other people might be startled by such an abrupt event, but if there was anything Shara Calloway was excellent at, it was remaining calm and nonchalant at the strangest of twists. With a couple notable exceptions, of course. In a way, it was a relief to have been pulled in a direction and told what to do. Her mind was cloudy, confused. This at least gave her something to focus her mind on that wasn’t specifically her transformation or ‘death’ as required by the mission.

=/\=Vinai to Gadi. There is a Cpt.=/\= Her voice paused as a hand rested on her shoulder. Gadi only nodded at the two officers, she didn’t even look at them. She appeared out of nowhere, just as Balthazar did. The art of unseen movement something they were both extremely skilled at. One moment the space between her officers had been vacant and the next she filled the space. “Put the stiletto away Elias, it’s beneath even you to use such armature intimidation tactics.” She stepped forward, past the two officers by a handful of paces. She had been on the deadly receiving end of that stiletto, her side still twinged every once in awhile from it. And she had been at the mercy of this man many times. And she was mature enough, and scared enough, to know she didn’t always get away because she was just that good. Tossing her hair back and resisting the urge to cross her arms, but stay relaxed, the memories…she’d wanted more proof he was dead, but the task force was satisfied. Idiots, all of them, including her. “I’m not happy with you Elias. You stood me up, then got yourself shot in the head so you could stand me up again. What’s a lady to think?” The Asimov needed to get out of Hell now.

Gadi, CoS

From her hiding place out of eye sight but within earshot, Shara listened, gathering information. Yes, this was what she was good at. She was also prepared, weapon in hand still from when they boarded the station, to shoot the man if required. All in a days’ work.

Commander Calloway, CIO

Elias didn’t look up, didn’t put the stiletto away, and didn’t so much as flinch. “Intimidation? tsk-tsk-tsk…” the man said and clicked his tongue against his teeth in that annoying way he always had when he knew he had the upper hand. “No… I’m not here to intimidate anybody, tart. Nor am I here to rekindle whatever you hoped to get from me.” and he blew on his fingertips and rubbed them together. A flick of the wrist and the blade vanished as if it had never been. He then looked up at Gadi and, still leaning on the rail, smiled.

“But I am here to reconfigure your security and weapon systems to something more… ‘appropriate’.” and the smile became a predatory grin.
