“Good idea Lieutenant.” Sara said, eyeing Elias up and down. “I assume, Mr Balthazar, you’re being compensated nicely for your services here. Any plans for what to do so far?”

-CO

The man looked at the CO and smiled… a truly unnerving look, if one were to be honest. “If by ‘compensated’ you mean a better view from a new cell, then sure… I am being compensated. As far as plans go, I have looked at the modifications of your energy weapons and those should be adequate for you. But next comes the fun bits… torpedoes and improvised explosives. You can get by on your standard Fleet issue projectiles for now… but once you run out, what then? Pull into the nearest starbase and ask nicely for a refill?” and he chuckled loudly. “No… that is when you have to start getting creative… and fortunately for you, I am very good at creative.”

So he was just there to upgrade prisons. Not even to go free… “Are you anticipating that we will use all of our munitions, or just advertising your readiness in that eventuality?”

-CO

Bethany had seen that look on Elias’ face all too often. It should probably bother her, it did bother her, she just didn’t care enough at the moment to let it. That wasn’t a good head space to be in. Gadi looked at Kiernan and nodded. “Yes Captain we will use most, likely all, of our munitions. In the case of mutiny, if I and my team can’t stop them, or next priority is to destroy our weapons so they don’t fall into the hands of the mutineers or pirates. We’ll ‘loose’ a good bit of them. And we’ll be hunted, tracked down, and every move dogged by those wishing to bring our lawless crew to justice. Even if we don’t ‘use’ them, we will loose them. Fortunately,” more like unfortunately, Bethany still couldn’t believe they were doing this, “our contact here, will make sure we are equally armed and prepared. Scary and twisted as his methods might be, you will be impressed.”

Gadi, CoS

Elias turned and smiled his predatory smile at Gadi. “Awww… you flatter me.” he said with a smirk.

Sara nodded. She trusted Bethany’s input more than Elias’ at this point. She said to Elias “If what we have is insufficient for the task at hand, let’s stay ahead of things. Prepare a space for your manufacturing process, gather whatever materials you need and get started.” and then to Bethany. “If he didn’t come with some kind of security detail to watch him, I’d like you to assign one.”

-CO

Gadi smirked, “No worries Cpt. he has one.” The station folks seemed to think he could wander the station at will and was secure enough. Bethany figured it was the other way around. Either way he’d have a security detail, assuming he didn’t slip past it like he did her officers at the docking port.

“Yes, I do Captain. Remind to let them know where I am, though. I’m sure they are wondering.” Elias said flatly.

Shara didn’t trust Elias one iota. But trust was not something they could be picky about in this circumstances. A mission like this had all sorts of pitfalls and compromises. Many of the rest of the crew might have quandaries about those compromises but Shara understood this game far too well and had resigned herself to its necessity. So, she finally moved from her leaning position, rifle still in hand. She looked to Bethany, gaze hard. “If you need me, I can be a part of that detail, if I’m not needed elsewhere.” He couldn’t manipulate her, not the way he thought he might be able to, and she wanted Bethany to know that her skills were open for the crew’s use, for better or worse.

Commander Calloway, CIO

Bethany was watching Elias. She was sure he found the whole thing humorous. Out of everyone on the task force, it was Bethany and Bethany only that had been able to track him with extreme accuracy. She chocked it up to good investigative work and paying attention, but even she had to admit it was uncanny how she’d managed it. She didn’t trust anyone else on board to guard him. He was too multifaceted and would present ‘tells’ just to trick people. She’d never met anyone else like him. She nodded her head at Calloway’s statement. If she had to trust someone else to help keep an eye on Elias then it would be Calloway. “Thank you Cmdr. I’ll let you know when.” Then she stood and looked at Elias, “So are we getting started or are you in a reminiscing mood?”

Gadi, CoS

“Oh, I do love girl-talk as much as the rest of you I’m sure, but I suppose in the interests of professionalism we should probably get to work.” he said to Bethany with a knowing smile. “Besides, we can catch up later.” He looked at Sara and said “Get me anyon on your ship trained to deal with explosives and I will give them a class they won’t soon forget. Four hours. I’ll go fetch some… teaching aids.” and he stood up smoothly and moved to the door. He glanced back at Calloway and nodded once. “Commander. A pleasure. I’m sure I’ll see you soon.” and he walked out the door.
