The passing weeks were filled with work form wake to sleep. Every crew member of the Asimov was either under the laser scalpel being transformed into someone else, or working on transforming the ship into a true marauder of the stars. Burns and patchwork repairs designed for function over aesthetics marred the ship’s previously pristine hull; and the registry had been scraped off. For all intents and purposes… the Asimov was no more. Indeed, the addition of a cloaking device ensured its vanishing act.

The inside of the ship reflected the new status: gone were the pristine floors and bright lighting. Now the interior was dim, shadowy, and had the looks of a former battle ground. Whatever had transpired in these darkened corridors had been sudden, swift… and brutally violent. Char marks and the odd stain littered the floors and walls, and exposed wiring hung limp from blasted ceiling panels.

Through the transformation, several figures were constantly in motion through the ship. Agent Blue, the lynchpin of the operation. One Elias Balthazar who seemed to show up at random spots without anyone knowing how he got there. And always somewhere close to him… Micah Pikelsimer, the FedSec agent.

Contact outside the station was less than minimal, but one communication had come through… with two parts.

The first was a newsfeed of a story running all over the Federation. The Asimov had been lost with all hands at the hands of an unknown aggressor. Star Fleet had launched a full investigation and sent a full force to the Asimov’s last known location. Rumors of Borg activity had been circulating, so most ships were giving the area a wide berth.

The second part was an Intel file. The file stated the news feed story was a ruse to hide the fact that the ship had been seized by traitors and was now operating outside of Fleet authority. All individuals currently manning the vessel were to be considered armed and dangerous and fugitives form Federation law. The Captain and Executive Officer had been labeled traitors. No ship was to approach the vessel without armed escort… and blanket authority to return any perceived aggression had been granted to ALL Star Fleet vessels. In short… they would be fired on on site.

With the preparations done, the ship was no ready to depart the station.

OOC: Hold on, aren’t cloaking devices outlawed under the federation charter?

OOC: Yes, but we’re allowed to break a few rules because this mission is for Special Projects and largely off the books. Covert ops stuff. We’re currently trying to appear as though there’s been a mutiny and now we’re acting as pirates.

IC:
Sara sat in the center chair, and mourned the mangled ruins of her bridge. She was out of uniform, it seemed only appropriate. The whole crew were outlaws. Pirates. Sara inhaled deeply through her nose and exhaled slowly. “Helm, take us out.”

The last few weeks had been exhausting just with the preparations and training the crew to act like pirates. She was loathe to say it, but what she had told Kiernan was true. Elias Balthazar provided accurate insight and some toys. They made Bethany twitch every time she thought about it. Everywhere that man went so did Bethany and so did Pikelsimer. Bethany hadn’t had more than a few words with the man. She was still reserving judgement.

Bethany had been labeled a traitor. The idea made her smirk as she stood behind the security/tactical console on the bridge. She wore heavy duty cargo pants, a loose linen shirt, covered by her signature black leather jacket. She’d been to Sickbay and had a few scars added from the mutiny. She put everything in standby as the ship.pulled away from the station. She figured their exit from the nebula would be as interesting as their arrival.

Gadi, CoS

Paddy always loved to dress up as a child, so when he arrived on the Asimov‘s Bridge, several scars induced by Sickbay across his arms, as well as an artifically induced cut across his cheek, he couldn’t help but grin at the sight of the rest of the crew around him, “Well, don’t we all scrub up well.”

-Lieutenant Patrick McMillan: Counsellor-

OOC: can I ask why we are covering as pirates?

-Mason

OOC: We’re posing as a group of mercenaries, Starfleet faked our deaths and now we’re trying to blend in with the other mercs around this station to see if we can get a real lay of the land!
