Nerira found the counselors office on deck five, hesitating slightly before pressing the contact to ring the door chime. She was worried that her childhood background might cause concern with the counselor and after the recent loss of her mentor, Lotas Onovren, she just really didn’t want to deal with the counselor.
Thank god the counselor isn’t a telepath she thought to herself as the door opened.

As the doors to Lieutenant Patrick McMillan’s office parted, Nerira found the young Irishman sitting at one of the three poofs across the maroon floor of his office. He was holding a PADD in one hand with a strong Irish coffee in the other, “Ahh, I’ll never get over me Ma’s blend, you’ll never get anything like it. You must be Nerira, our new Science Officer, please, take a seat.”

Sitting down Nerira confirmed, “That’d be me” doing her best to hide her apprehension, but knowing that the counselor would most likely still pick up on it.
