Calloway actually laughed, a rare sound, especially in public. “Well, I never went to the Academy, so I guess I’m the only one safe this time,” she said with a wicked smile.

“Wait, you didn’t go to the Academy? But you’re an officer. How’d you swing that?” NE Nichols said, the frown deep set on his face.

She quirked an eyebrow and crossed her arms over her chest, right fist still holding the detestable candies. “Wow, please tell me I’m not the only one around here who pays attention to the rumour mill.”

Kellin shook his head. “She was on Voyager you twit,” he said with a smirk, giving Shara a nod.

It took perhaps a couple second too long for Nichols to piece the answer together, but Shara saw the unmistakable lightbulb go off. “You were Maquis.”

“Guilty as charged,” Shara said, studying the expressions. It was definitely notoriety but she kept an eye out for the rare person these days for whom that might still be a problem. “Never have I ever gone skinny dipping… within the last year.” It was silly because she was outing herself and forcing herself to take another liquorice (entirely not the point of the game), but that memory of being with Micah the day before they drunkenly eloped over subspace was seared into her brain in the best possible way.

She went and took a candy.

Commander Calloway, CIO

Bethany glanced around as well. Her mentor had been out there too, and had gotten a first hand account of some things, not everything. Bethany personally didn’t have a problem with the Maquis. If she’d been older, she would have been a staunch supporter, but that was she hoped a moot point. They were all in this together now. Bethany grinned, “Not me. I’ve not been home in…oh 5 years.” Most everyone kind of shrugged, then Ridad swaggered his way down to the jar, “I’m taken 5, not because I have to, but because it was soooo worth it.” It got laughs out of most everyone.

The helm officer turned around and eyed Gadi and then Calloway. They both had a reputation and rumors abounded. They had both helped them all make transitions for their new personas. “Never have I ever pretended to make out with someone.” The girl was pretty sure the two women had done a lot of things as part of a cover.

Bethany got up and snagged a piece. Ridad piped up, “Who?!” She glanced up at him, “Someone who can keep a secret, so we know it wasn’t you Ridad.”

Gadi, CoS

Shara snorted. “Seriously? That’s like a given,” she said as she took two candies, popping one in her mouth with a shudder and stuffing the rest into her pocket. “Though there was that prince…”

Folding her arms across her chest, she studied the group on the bridge. “Never have I ever hacked into a computer to change a detail on my own record.” And maybe contrary to what some expected, she stayed rooted in place.

Commander Calloway, CIO

Bethany sat there a minute as everyone looked at her, “Oh alright, alright.” Everyone knew Bethany was good with computers. She got up and grabbed a piece and popped it in her mouth and managed not to completely gag on it. She looked at Calloway. “Never have I ever lost a whole night because I drank homemade shine in the last year.” Now Bethany didn’t know for sure, but Shara had mentioned to Bethany about her husband’s shine. Bethany knew all about her uncles’ shine and what it could do. So she took a gamble.

Gadi, CoS

Calloway shot Bethy a dirty look. “Now that’s just playing dirty. Careful there, Gadi,” she said as she took another piece. Still, as she popped the disgusting thing in her mouth, her eyes shined. Worst hangover she’d had by far, but also the strangest best night and following day she’d had in decades. “I got a husband out of it too,” she said, winking at a smirking Kellin. That just drew chuckles and curiosity. Let them keep guessing.

Bethany laughed so hard, if she’d been drinking the XO’s console would be covered in sticky bourbon residue.

By now her stomach was not happy with the number of liquorice she had consumed and was already calculating how many more rounds she could go before calling it quits.

“Never have I ever stolen a shuttle,” Shara said with a smirk. Technically, she hadn’t. But she grinned as she watched one of the JOs take a candy and gave them a nod.

Commander Calloway, CIO

Bethany smirked. Technically the shuttle wanted to go with her. She’d hacked the AI and made it think she was the mother ship. Bethany grabbed a candy and groaned as she ate it. She was going to be sick later.

The NE at the helm, she was young and naive and thought it would be funny to call out the spooky officers in their own game. “Never have I ever killed someone outside of combat.”

Bethany looked at Shara, a wealth of meaning in a simple sideways glance.
