The team materialized at the back of a dimly lit passageway. Emergency lighting was on, but there was smoke in the air. The sounds of yelling could be heard far off ahead… and the ship smelled of old body odor and some kind of bio-chemical. The display on their tricorders showed they were inside one of the large maintenance passages the Tellarites used in their vessels to more easily move equipment and facilitate repairs. According to the map, ahead was a single hatch that would put them into the main passageway leading to the bridge at one end, turbolifts at the other.

GM

As they materialized, rifles at the read, and the tricorders started displaying data, Ridad and his team spread out moving towards the hatch. Ridad had his hand on the panel and two of his officers were ready to start the sweep as soon as the doors opened, two more behind them. “On your mark, Calloway.”

Ridad

Shara gave a small nod and moved forward towards the bridge with silent steps. “We have to go ahead to the bridge. Ridad, once we’re in and we’ve subdued any crew we need to, you’ll open the seal on the cargo hold and we head back down this way. Anyone appears, shoot ‘em. We can’t take any risks here.” And escaping crew who could gather and mount a counter-attack would inly make this whole thing worse. She’s rather leave a trail of stunned bodies than have a shoot-out and actually kill anyone. They might not be able to avoid it, but she could sure as hell try.

Ridad nodded, “Yes ma’am.” He would prefer simple in and out without a fire fight, but he was realistic. Hopefully unlocking the cargo seal wasn’t going to be a problem. But he supposed that’s why they had Gadi sitting back on the Rabid Pelican.

Approaching the hatch, she aimed her phaser rifle and signalled to the person closest to her to open the hatch. Here went nothing.

The woman switched her grip and hit the controls and then hatch hissed as it opened. The rest of the team stood ready and began to pour through the hatch as soon as it was open, scanning and sweeping in all directions.

Ridad

The passageway was empty of personnel, but voices could be heard from the right hand side, away from the bridge. “Damned if I know who they are! All I know is that we’re dead in the water and if we don’t get the shields back up the Captain will have our hides!” “How the hell are we supposed to fix the shields?!?! They just got blasted right off the hull!” The voices continued to argue but faded into the distance.

Pikelsimer stepped out into the passage and peered through narrowed eyes at the retreating voices. He then turned and moved to the left.

Soon the ‘pirates’ were assembled outside the door to the bridge. Pikelsimer attached a small device to the door and began counting down from five on his fingers for all to see. As he dropped the last finger, the doors made a POP noise and slid open forcefully. Inside was the freighter’s bridge… and seven crew members of varying species who all looked shocked and startled.

GM

Ridad and his team didn’t hesitate as the doors opened. Their weapons were set to maximum stun and they poured through the door, Ridad first already shooting as he moved to the side and dropped a knee. They fired at the bridge crew in a clean aimed shots taking advantage of the crews shock.

Ridad

Shara slipped in after Ridad, and fired off a shot, making contact.

Two of the crew dropped immediately, having no time to react to the burst of fire that fell upon them. The rest dove for cover and, to their credit, sealed the door to the bridge cutting the pirates off from some of their fellows.

The problem with taking a ship, even a freighter, was a crew’s willingness to fight, and of course their familiarity with the layout. With only two days to prep, the team had drilled and drilled, but it was all based off of supposition. Educated guesses. But they weren’t there to take the ship. Hitting the bridge only made sense for countering security measures and possibly accessing the cargo manifest, and having operational control over the ship.

The six person team pressed into the bridge in a classic dynamic entry with each side traveling along the walls attempting to create the L they needed by taking the points of domination, though the advance halted with Ridad taking a knee. They didn’t need to spread out too much, instead presenting a strong wall and a base of fire to get fire superiority. In such a tight space, most fights were over in seconds. Ridad, Calloway, and Pikelsimmer were the one, two, and three person’s through the door. NE Forbes was right behind them, moving with Ridad. Since his team lead took the knee, he shifted into High-Low position, with Ridad being the low, and shooting over his head, his knee practically in Ridad’s back and both able to feel the contact, feel how each other was moving.

His first couple of shots took down one of the crew, and he traversed to the next closest to his line of fire and let off another pair of quick tapping shots, four shots in less than a second, and for him, it was fast but controlled, about 90% of his max speed.

NE Forbes

“Cover me,” Calloway said as she beelined for a console and began working the system, trying to identify where exactly they were keeping the key items they wanted to steal. Her rifle was slung from its holder and she could grab it quick, but she needed both hands to work as quickly as she could. She had studied the systems ahead of time too and was prepared to break in quickly if needed. She doubted she’d need much of her skills though. Meanwhile, her mind noted that the team simply acted and without hesitation. good. Maybe they’d get out of this alive and accomplish their task after all.

Ridad rose and moved with her, firing off at anyone who even looked Calloway’s way.

It was an intense thirty seconds, but four of the seven Tellerites were down. “WE SURRENDER!” one of them yelled and arms went up in the remaining three. Quick, and no casualties past some headaches in a few hours.

Thirty seconds was too long. It should have been over in six to twelve. Forbes made a note of it for their next training run. But they weren’t done yet,t here were other portals into the bridge. Moving along the bulkhead he checked the other hatches making sure they were secured, or nothing was beyond them, then headed back to the one they’d come through.

The three Tellerites stood up slowly as the firing ceased. Just as Calloway gained access and control of the ship’s systems and the door to the bridge slid open.

Forbes posted up next to it, using the bulkhead for cover but keeping an eye down the corridor. “Gee it sure would be nice if we had some grenades, don’t ya think?”

One of the Tellerites glared at the invaders and said “You have no idea the amount of hurt you have coming down on you, you filth. And I’m gonna make sure you all pay. I will do everything I ca-” and a shot of sickly greenish-pink energy blasted a hole in the forehead of porcine-faced speaker who crumpled to the deck… dead.

Ridad grimaced, stupid. Too much talking, should have just came in firing, and then he was dead.

Pikelsimer took aim at the other two figures and said very slowly “Anybody else want to speak up? No? Ah, well…” and he lowered the Jem’hadar pistol slowly and menacingly. He then looked at the pirates and said “I think they got the message.” and chuckled.

GM

Ridad looked at Pikelsimer and smirked. Knew he liked that man, he just changed the rules they were given. Ridad dialed up the setting on his rifle with a look of glee. He turned to the other bridge officers, “Now you’re going to tell us about the rest of your security or I’m gonna let my friend here use that nasty pistol for fun. I could kill you, but his will make your last seconds an eternity in hell.”

Ridad

“Could always disintegrate a limb or two,” Forbes suggested casually from the doorway.

NE Forbes

To her credit, ‘Elaine’ didn’t even pay attention to the goings on around her other than to note what happened. She was focused on the console in front of her. “I’m in. Child’s play,” she said with derision. “Target is exactly where we thought it was.” In a different scenario, there might be more chatter and details, but she didn’t want to give more away to the Tellerite crew than was necessary. But she patted the pocket where the transporter tags were. Tag and bag, as it were. Returning her rifle to her hands, Elaine backed towards the entry to the bridge, her eyes flicking to Micah. “Party time,” she said. “Two stay here and keep these idiots under wraps. The rest with me,” she said, all but sauntering off the bridge. It looked callous carefree, but of course she was still exceptionally alert and able to react.

Ridad motion nodded to N’vouick and Ushwar. Careful not to use names or speak unnecessarily. He wanted the crew to understand they were well trained and a unit. They nodded with maniacal grins, which was very disturbing on the Vulcan’s face. Then he followed Calloway out and down the corridor, one of the transporter tags appearing in his free hand, slipping it through his fingers, and then slipped behind his ear.

Ridad

Micah walked over and nudged the corpse with his foot and then chuckled. Absent-mindedly waving the pistol that killed their crew mate in their general direction, he said “Ya know… my friends heading to your cargo bay are not nearly as nice as me. If y’all wanna do something productive, ya could hop on the comms and tell all your little piggie buddies down there to just stand down. Otherwise? Well… we ain’t had pork chips in a while. Might do us some good to stock up the ‘ol freezer if ya know what I’m sayin.” and he chuckled at the corpse again.

Pikelsimer

There was a pause as the two bridge operators looked at their dead crewman and then at each other. Finally, one nodded and slowly moved to the comm station. Micah waved the pistol under his nose and said “Be convincing, now.... I’d sure hate for the need for a extra nostril to come into play.” The Tellerite glared hard at him but tapped the comms and his voice was heard all through the freighter. =/\= Attention. All hands. This is acting Captain Frez. We have been boarded and the bridge taken. The intruders only want the cargo. It’s… it’s not worth anymore lives. Stand down. Medical teams prepare for casualties. That is all. Do not engage further. Bridge out. =/\= Micah looked at him and nodded. “Good little piggie. Now sit. And be very quiet or the big bad wolf is liable to huff and puff and blow your ugly little face off.” and he made the crewmen sit on the floor.

GM

Calloway proceeded in the other direction and having released the security controls on their destination and having the path all but cleared for them, she simply strode through the ship like she owned it. Her foggy blue eyes were hard and cold, but alert as she moved to teh cargo bay where their quarry was.
