“Oh…” said Eulailia as she moved closer and stood on the side of the woman. She looked at the bartender and timidly asked, “C....can I have a shot of Romulan whiskey…please.” Her side still ached and she hoped the drink you take the edge off. As she waited for her drink she said to the red-haired woman. “My name is Laila. I wanted to thank you for taking that jerk down. I was afraid he was going to eat me or something.” She paused for a moment then asked, “And you are…?”

She snorted. “I’m Ree. Around here you have to think on your feet. If you were that scared, why did you even come here?”

The bartender slid another of the amber liquid over to the red-haired woman and then pulled out a shot glass and tipped a bottled over, filling the shot and slid it to Dacascos.

~Ree

It was a question she’d asked herself since we she walked into the Holosuite. She picked up the glass, threw back the liquid inside it, and let the burn it created in her throat and chest subside before she answered. “I thought....I was supposed to meet my friend here.” Laila wasn’t sure if she could call Shara friend now since she had ghosted her in this forsaken place. She may as well had locked her in the room with a pair of wild wolves. “She was supposed to teach me how to be stronger, defend myself....,” she looked around again “....in these types of situations.”
At least the bar patrons seemed to know better than to mess with this mystery woman. They seem to be keeping their distance and Laila thought she’d better make good with the woman fast so she could at least survive long enough to escape the Holosuite program. “I don’t know if I have what it takes. I am not a fighter! Thank God you were here other wise I might be an entre that all of them would be fighting over right now.” She pointed at bar the patrons. “I don’t like it here. I need to find a way out.” She slid her glass back to the woman as she eyed the bottle of amber liquid. Can I have another? If I am going to die here, I’d rather go out ridiculously drunk and out of my mind.”

“Not my bar,” Ree said, giving a signal to the bartender, who scoffed at Laila and filled her shot glass again.

She knocked back half her drink and let her glass hit the bar top with a thunk. “Do you want to die?”

~Ree

Laila’s hand suddenly withdrew from the glass, gripping the collar of her shirt and her eyes grew wide with fear, “What? No! I don’t want to die!” Her face and lips formed like she was about to start crying. “I want to get out of here. And I know I am not going to survive in here if I don’t find a way out!”

Ree looked around, and briefly looked up towards the darkened balcony that formed the second floor. “Get a grip girly. You’re not stuck in here, you just think you are.”

Laila closed her eyes , lowered her head, then gave Ree a quick nod, to hide the fact she wanted to start crying like a baby. She figured she’d better not else Ree might get annoyed and leave her there all by herself. She sniffed back tears, “I just don’t want to die. Not here. Not like this.” Her head stayed lowered for a few moments.

“Oh, go easy on her Ree, she looks like she might collapse in a ball on the floor. Bad for business,” another voice said, followed by the clunk of heels.

She turned her head in the direction of the new voice. Squinted her eyes to try to see through the tears that were clouding her eyeballs.

Suddenly another woman appeared at the bar, dressed in a form fitting jumpsuit in black, with high heeled boots. Tall height, chin length blond hair and soft brown eyes were paired with the nasal ridges of a Bajoran. She slipped behind the bar and sidled up to the well muscled and so far silent Human bartender. He pulled her into a quick kiss before releasing her. The woman grabbed a cloth, wiped up a small spill and leaned forward, eyeing Laila. “You’re not going to collapse on my floor, are you?”

~Ree & Hostess?

It wasn’t Shara like she’d hoped. Laila shook her head at the new woman, in response to her question, before she slowly picked up her glass, eyes studying her blond hair and jumpsuit. Nope not Shara, she thought as she took a sip of the whiskey the bar tender had poured. After letting the whiskey settle down her throat and into her chest, she look up toward the balcony, then at Ree and then at the mystery woman. “My name is Laila. Do you think you can help me get out of here, Miss.....?”
