She grimaced and waved the PADD. “The only nice thing about being branded criminals is that I don’t have to follow up on Fleet Intel leads. However, it means I have to hunt them out myself. Time. Energy. You know the drill.”
Setting the PADD to the side, she slipped off the sofa, her feet bare and drew closer. Reaching him, she slipped her arms around his waist and leaned in, but rather than kiss him, she whispered in his ear. “Have you been naughty?”

He pulled her close and whispered back “Oh… very. But I had help.” and he bit her ear and then let go of her and said “So naughty, I need to take a shower.” and he walked into the bedroom, throwing off his shirt as he went in. “Care ta join me?” he yelled form the other room as the water started.

A mischievous grin slipped onto her face. Ahhh, this could be so very much fun! “Wig or no wig?”she called out, slipping off the sweater and moving slowly towards the shower.

“Your call!” he yelled from the bathroom. “Either way, I’m gonna have a helluva good time!” and he laughed.

It would have been easy to slip one of the wigs on and continue the charade, but not only was it not necessary, she was still riding that thrill of being so brazen in public. It was also amusing to wonder how fast the rumour mill was churning just now.
Shara slipped into the shower with him, and simply slipped her arms around his waist again. As she pressed her body against his and rested her head in the crook of his shoulder, Shara sighed. It was the weight of everything letting go. Yes, their earlier shenanigans were thrilling and very much needed in their own way, but the wonderful thing about them as a couple is that they ebb and flow as they needed to. For a moment she just needed the solidity his presence brought to her life and the reassurance that even if things didn’t go their way at least they were in it together. For people like Micah and Sharah it was an extraordinary gesture.
