Sara sat in her new ready room on the Broken Dawn. She considered everything that had transpired to bring this ship to them. =/\=Agent Blue, report to my ready room immediately.=/\= It was not a question or a request, it was not at his convenience. Sara was tired beyond belief, and it was past time they were on the same page.

-CO

It was not necessarily immediately, but it was within six or seven minutes that the chime on the ready room door chirped.

Agent Blue walked in and looked at the CO. “Yes, Captain? What can I do for you?” he asked easily.

Sara’s fingers rapped on her desk. “This is a nice ship. I’m told we have you to thank for arranging it. The Admiral did say something… she said something that implied very much that the manner of the acquisition of this new ship was a set-up. A test. Strickland, you and I need to understand each other. If you leave me out of the loop, you’re increasing the risk to all of us. we may be well outside my pay grade of intel, I don’t care. If things go south, and it was preventable with a little information, I don’t care if I actually go to prison, I will put you out an airlock.”

-CO

Blue’s eyebrows furrowed together and he said “Huh? I’m not sure what you mean, Captain. Yes, I made arrangements for us to switch ships… but this? This wasn’t me. And nowhere in any plan I had did it involve you selling the Asimov. I’ve predicted a lot of things in my ti.e… that was a surprise, for certain.”

“God Intel people exhaust me.” She pinched the bridge of her nose. “Okay. So what was supposed to happen and why did none of it involve telling me you had plans for my ship?”

-CO

Blue sighed heavily and said “I didn’t say anything because I didn’t know anything. And as I have said from jump, we are not sharing anything that we don’t have to to ensure that we have the biggest shot at success that we can. Again… we don’t know how much this group has infiltrated the Fleet. So… we hold things back. In this instance, I was looking at us utilizing another vessel temporarily… I never intended Command to switch you to… to… to this” and he gestured around. “I mean hell… you’ve just almost tripled the available size of your crew with this! I didn’t do that! We have to run this thing on a skeleton crew now! That’s not a headache I really wanted right now, you know?”
