OOC: This is a thread for everyone, should you want to participate.
IC:
A message showed up in everyone’s messages at 1500 hours:
||Urgent Mission Meeting. Anyone who is not on skeleton crew duty while are are docked at The Cloud should attend. Ruko’s Tavern aka Holosuite 1. 1800 hours. ~’Elaine’ Calloway.||

It was very straightforward in he mind and so Shara whispered the plan in Micah’s ear before she went off to take care of a couple details.

1745 Hours

Ruko’s Tavern was much like any pub -type place, but with an older feel. Wood tables and chairs illuminating with scones and other dimmer light fixtures. A wooden bar top that was in front of a pretty standard selection of the galaxies expected liquors, with a rotation of ales and lagers on tap. It wasn’t fancy but it was taken care off. There were pool and billiards tables, and even a dart board.

Shara arrived right on time and sweet talked the proprietor as she moved tables together, allowing at least the majority of the crew to sit together. She honestly wasn’t sure who in fact would come, but she hoped they took the summons seriously. After all, the mission was at stake.

~Shara Calloway, CIO

Sara arrived just a couple minutes later. She found ‘Elaine’ and nodded her greeting. She went to the bar and ordered an Orion rum. Turning back to the main are of the bar, she couldn’t help but wonder what Calloway had schemed up.

Adjusting one of the tables, Shara took a moment to survey the space, very aware that Kiernan had arrived. She moved over to the captain and gave Sara an appraising look. “Just us so far, I see. Perhaps we need to remind folks what the word ‘urgent’ means,” she said with a gleam in her foggy blue eyes.

~Shara Calloway, CIO

‘Volk’, along with his charge, arrived a few moments after Shara’s comment, ushering ‘Miss Trevante’ along. He said very little, only giving Shara a brief nod. He was uncertain as to why they would be meeting up in this manner if the point of being on the cloud was so that their cover identities could be established and dis-associated from the Rabid Pelican’s crew. But if the captain thought a meeting was needed, a meeting was needed. He’d have to talk to her later for an update on everything, anyways.

Mwezi, XO

OOC: Just to clarify, this is independent of the main action of the sim and any side sims others are doing on the Cloud. You can be in those threads and here and no one’s identity will be compromised.

Calloway nodded back to the new XO. “Grab a seat, and a drink if you like.” She’d have one herself tonight but there would definitely not be any moonshine floating about. It was not that kind of night and she wasn’t going to share all her and Micah’s stash.

~Shara Calloway, CIO

“So what’s the ‘urgent business’?” Sara cut in. “Your message was pretty clear but none of this seems urgent.” She already had her suspicions it was a trick but she wanted to make Calloway say it.

Shara studied Sara for a moment before she allowed a tiny smirk to slip onto her face and spoke softly. “Come now, Captain, you know me better than that by now.” She looked around the room and then back at Kiernan. “The success of this mission is dependant on all of us trusting one another, or giving up our usual control over variables we think are ours to control. It makes us wary, jumpy. Tensions are high and under this kinds of stress people can make stupid decisions. This is straight psychology and if our counsellor decides to show up, I think he’ll agree that the crew could use a moment to let off some steam. I’ve secured this place for our use. the proprietor and I have made a nice little arrangement and no one will both us. I have a plan for a bit of fun for what is basically team building.” Shara gaze intensified. “When an Intelligence covert team is training before an Op, we do specific sorts of things to make sure we’ve gelled. We haven’t had that options here, not really. So, I hope you don’t mind, but I think this is too important before we kick into the next phase of this mission.”

~Shara Calloway, CIO

“Point well made.” Sara raised her glass. “Let the party begin, and that’s an order.” She laughed. “Do we just get to know each other, or are we doing trust-falls, god forbid?” Sara, for all her mistrust of Intel, put all her possible faith and trust in the ship’s CIO and her methods.

Shara gave a little grin. “Oh, I was thinking of something more along the lines of a game. And I have a specific one in mind once we see who all is in.” She moved over the holographic bar and ordered up a whiskey on the rocks. No ‘shine here tonight and not just because she wasn’t sharing with everyone.

~Shara Calloway, CIO

Mwezi’s tail wagged imperceptibly for just a moment before he quelled its movements. The idea of team-building and growing closer with the disparate crew of the ship appealed to him, especially since he needed to foster trust in this situation. He sat down, leaning forward slightly. “What sort of game?” he asked with a slight tilt of his head.

Mwezi, XO

“Alright, what game is it you want to play, then?” Sara asked, relieved nothing important was happening. At least for these brief few moments.

-CO

Shara was going to wait till more people showed up but she suspected they might not, so it probably wasn’t worth holding onto that tidbit. She grinned at both of them. “Two truths and a lie,” she said simply, watching to see if they knew the game or not.

~Shara Calloway, CIO

The door to the tavern opened silently and Bethany heard the words Two Truths and a Lie. The door closed just as silently, she did a quick about face and called for the door of the holodeck. She’d already played two games of ‘Never have I ever’ with Calloway. She wasn’t playing more games. Nope, she was not. She had work to do, anyway.

Gadi, COS

Shara’s long legs carried her swiftly to the Chief of Security. “Bethy, wait! Where are you going?” she said, frowning. Okay, sure, she was tricking people to join her here, but there was a reason. With Shara there was always a reason for everything.

~Shara Calloway, CIO

Bethany paused and turned. She regarded Calloway for a long moment. There was no use lying or deflecting. They could both read people as easily as their lungs filled with air. “I’m not in the mood to play games today Sharah. I’ve hit my limit of insaneness for the day. I thought this might be a good way to unwind, but,” she glanced at the door to the tavern, “I’m not fit company for people, not even to fake it. I don’t trust anyone, and two truths and a lie isn’t going to change that.” She nodded back the other way, “Good luck with that.”

Gadi, CoS

Mwezi raised an eyebrow, watching the interaction. “This is not a game I have heard of,” he commented, glancing over to Sara. “Are you familiar with it?”

Mwezi, XO
