She matched his grin and she danced ever closer to him. “Now, now, you know full well I’ve never let myself belong to a place since Tracken. I can be anywhere, but to want to be somewhere specific? That’s new. And in my head, Tennessee is where I became whole again… with you. I don’t know, I just don’t ever see myself running off to the cabin without you at my side.”

Micah waved off the statement with his metal hand. “Bull. There’s gonna be a time, I’m sure, that I’m gonna be off doing gods-knows-what for the ‘safety and security of the Federation’ and you’ll just want to be left alone for a bit. So go. It’s yours now, anyways. Mine and yours. So let it be home. It may not be Tracken… but I think it’ll do ya just fine.” and he smiled at her.

As the music continued, she leaned in and pressed her cheek against his, breaking into a smile. “What else do you think we should make a point of once we are done with the current nonsense?” She said nonsense lightly, with humour. Naturally she was very serious about it all, but still, she was trying to keep it all in perspective. And he was right. There were other things after this mission wrapped up. People to see, daughters to connect with more. She didn’t want to lose what her and Faye had crafted since the Manhattan. It was hard earned and fought for, especially after Nadine entered into the picture. And then there was Gavin… and the news about her father. But that last bit was quickly buried within. She had no time right now to even contemplate him at all.

“Hmmm… go back home. Relax for a while.” He was silent a moment and then said “Maybe build a place for Faye and the boy of hers. Give ‘em a spot to call home that doesn’t have a warp drive in it. Whaddya think?”

Shara pulled back slightly and grinned. “I think that’s a fantastic idea. A surprise, of course.” Her expression shifted. “Are you really going to be able to stay on the Asimov? I mean, we’re both independent and all, but given everything, I strangely dislike the idea of spending more time apart than together.” She would never ask him to shirk his duty, nor would he ask it of her. But she accepted their fly-by-night marriage believing that they would be able to be a married couple. Sure, it was going to look very untraditional most likely, but having had the chance to be together away from the cabin in Tennessee, she was getting rather attached to his presence here.

Micah shrugged. “I mean technically I can work from anywhere.” he said. “And with the new ship, I bet I could fit Vanessa in the shuttle bay. Don’t see no reason why I can’t stay.” He smiled at her and then leaned in and kissed her. He held it for a long time before pulling back and grinning. “Perks a’ the job, love… perks a’ the job.” he said.
