They found the door to Cargo Bay A wide open, with crew members gathered here. A makeshift sickbay was formed here, but it didn’t look like any medical personnel had yet arrived. Just a security officer with a medic kit who had some combat medical training, who was assisting his fellow crew members the best he possibly could. A few minutes later, Ensign Clancey showed up. She was out of breath, having to rush here from Sickbay.

“I’m Ensign Clancey, a medic from sickbay, Lieutenant. Are you in charge here?” asked Ensign Clancey.

Veyn stifled a cough with the back of his hand. “Lieutenant Cewa,” he said as way of greeting. “And I suppose I am, for the moment. Please tend to the others, my injuries are not pressing.” Not exactly the truth, and he sank down to sit on the floor as he said so. But he waved the medic off if she approached. “Ensign Maher’s wrist needs to be inspected,” he said as a polite way of giving a more firm order.

From his position sitting against a cargo container, Veyn surveyed the crew around him, trying to determine how badly the others had been hurt. Then he leaned his head back and closed his good eye, holding a hand to the makeshift bandage on his forehead as he tried to keep the pain of his gashes from catching up to him.

“First rule of triage is to see to the bleeding people first, that means you, Lieutenant,” said Ensign Clancey, “It does us no good if you bleed out while I fix a broken wrist.”

Clancey brought out a dermal regenerator, and took out some clean bandages to clean the wound. After the wound was cleaned up, he used the dermal regenerator’s healing abilities to clean out any possible infection and to close the wound. “Ensign Maher, would you be as so kind as to order the affected wounded, on order of how much they are bleeding out? Head injuries and patients with severe blood loss is first. Use the medical tricorder in my kit to help you.”

“Well, I don’t have much experience, Clancey, but I’ll try with what I can do with the one good wrist,” replied Maher, as he started scanning personnel in the cargo bay.

GM

Veyn gave a sigh of protest, but didn’t resist treatment further. Of course he needed it, he just hoped there weren’t people elsewhere that were in a more dire condition who could use Ensign Clancey’s skills.

“Thank you, Ensign,” Veyn said as she worked on his head injury. “What’s the status of sickbay? Have you heard any information about the state of the rest of the ship? The crew?”

(Lt. Cewa, Science)

“Sickbay is operational, but it seems the ship is running on barely enough power. There are injured everywhere, all personnel were probably tossed around. So far, no deaths, luckily. A lot of broken bones, and bruising. Definite signs of extreme trauma, caused by the fact that the ship crashed, at least from what the looks of it is. A couple personnel are suffering from the slightly than heavier gravity, but not many,” said Clancey, “We’re running on battery power, unfortunately.”

GM

Veyn nodded, which caused him to wince. “We’ll have to try to conserve as much battery power as we can. If we’re stranded here, I might have some ideas for making a generator to recharge them. Try not to let any batteries die completely. Makes them much harder to recharge.”

Veyn rose to his feet a little unsteadily. “Ensign Maher,” he called, “is it alright if I leave you with Ensign Clancey? I’m going to try to reach the bridge.”

(Lt. Cewa, Science)

“Yes sir,” replied Maher.

“I recommend that if you start feeling dizzy, to immediately take a break, sir,” said Ensign Clancey, “Climbing might bring additional blood pressure. Though your wound is technically healed, just don’t over do it.”

GM

“Understood, doctor,” Veyn said as a way of farewell, before heading out the open doors of cargo bay A to search for a jeffieres tube to scale to the ship’s upper-most deck.

OOC: Sounds like Cewa and Solit might run into each other? Aren’t they both looking for each other? Or should I just have Cewa arrive at the bridge?

(Lt. Cewa, Sciences)

OOC: Going through the timeline, Veyn took stock of the Labs, evacuated everyone to Deck 3, stopped a fire in Cargo Bay C, and was medically treated before leaving. In the same time frame, Solit said he was conscious to the CO, identified a broken arm, tried and failed to treat it himself, got properly treated and cleared to go through the Jeffries, and informed the bridge crew that sensors had detected chronitons during their transit. So I think that Veyn handled about 45 minutes of time frame to this point while Solit has only had 25 minutes on the Bridge. Add another 15 for Idari to go to the Labs and find them abandoned, and this is going to be a case of, “Found you right before I missed you.” Coincidence is always a fun narrative device.

IC:
Just as Lieutenant Cewa found an access point, Commander Idari emerged from it, looking somewhat worse for wear. He was sweating, owing to the fact that life support systems were on limited power, meaning that the Jeffries were minimally ventilated. He lightly shook the arm that had recently been broken, mildly gratified that it was still stable. When he gathered his bearings, he spotted Veyn.

“Lieutenant,” Commander Idari said. “Just the man I was trying to find. You’re needed on the Bridge.”

Solit held out the PADD that had the sensor readings for the entire calamatous shakedown - well, until practically all power failed.

“I’m going planetside. See what you can make of these scans.”

Commander Idari, CSO
