“Anything else, sirs?” Jon asked. He was interested in going aft to look at the generators himself, see just what was left after the NEs had stripped the broken ones to shore up their single functional one.

Maybe, just maybe, there would be enough to cobble together a second with what few spare parts they had on hand or could cobble together from systems they weren’t using and couldn’t use at this point.

OOC: Bump.

GM

“No that’s all Ensign.”

Murphy, 2nd Officer

“Aye aye, sirs,” Jon replied, pivoting and heading out of the compartment.

One of Jon’s coworkers came up to Ensign. “So… what now?” asked his fellow Ensign, “The hydrogen fuel is only going to last us for only so long. And who knows how stable the fusion generator really is. We weren’t using exactly perfect condition parts.”

GM

“We’re going to go have a second look. Check the condition of the tanks, check the condition of the generators y’all took apart, see what we might be able to repurpose,” Jon said, beckoning the NE to follow him aft.

“Alright,” said NE Mitchells. Mitchells and Smythe arrived at the tanks first. Using their tricorders, they found the tanks were intact. There were microfractures that were repaired recently, and they were holding. But would need to be reinspected periodically. The only means to fully patch the microfractures was to drain the tank, which wasn’t a viable option. The best they did was several seals that they did with some metal they carefully micro-welded on the outside. They couldn’t do any large welding, for fear of explosion.

GM

“Well, that’s better than nothing,” Jon reflected, checking his tricorder to see the fuel levels in each tank. There should be at least a year’s worth of deuterium for each of the ship’s generators inside, considering the ship was fresh from the yards.

They were in luck. They did have a year’s supply.

GM

As was Zen’s habit, he silently wandered after the Engineers, “Please tell me gentlemen, that you have some good news?” He said quietly from behind the two,

Kaida
XO

“A little, Commander,” Jon said. “It seems we’ve got plenty of deuterium to fuel the one generator we’ve got left, so long as we can keep it from leaking out through microfractures we can’t completely fix so long as they’re filled without running the risk of blowing up what’s left of the ship.”

He folded his tricorder shut. “Next on the list is checking out the generator itself, plus appraising what’s left of the other ones we had to disassemble to shore up the one we’ve got left.”

Ens. Smythe
Eng

“How much deuterium we have?”

Murphy
