Lt. Cewa found the equipment… unfortunately it was damaged. Whether it was repairable and serviceable, was a different question all together.

GM

“Well done, Lieutenant, although it would appear that the crash has put paid to the equipment,” Solit said. “One would think that the storage containers would have been stacked more securely than they proved to be. A matter for Operations or even the Starbase crew that loaded the ship, I suppose. What would you say to a trip to Engineering?”
Commander Idari picked up what looked to be an ore extraction device, although, given its current state, it was more suited to gathering dust. “I know how to use all of this, but, regrettably, I am not as well-versed in their maintenance. A drawback of spending so many years in the upper levels of a science department, I suppose.”

Veyn rubbed the back of his neck bashfully. “Likewise, Commander, my experience repairing machines is limited. He gathered what other equipment he could carry and nodded to the door of the cargo bay. “To engineering, then. Shall we?”

(Lt. Cewa, Science)

Idari nodded, then looked around for Ensign Munchkin, and called out, “Ensign, we’re heading to Engineering to fix our geologic survey equipment. Care to accompany us?”

Idari grabbed what seemed to be the lightest tools as well as a sling to carry them, and moved toward the door.

Ensign Munchkin grabbed a few rations and said, “Sure thing! I heard that Engineering has possibly come up with a slightly easier way to travel between decks…”

GM

Veyn sighed in apprehension. “Yes, the pulley system… not my favorite method of travel, but I suppose it’s better than scaling the turbolift shaft by hand.” He looked down at the bundle of machinery in his arms. “Hopefully we’ll be able to transport the equipment while using it.”

Solit shook his head at the realization that they wouldn’t have the moving pallets that he was normalized to using with a fully functional ship.

“Let’s just take what we can carry, pile it on the floor of whatever the lift is using as a floor or tie it off on the cable that we’ll be using to get ourselves to Deck 4, and go from there,” Idari said. “Speaking of that, are they using the turbolift shaft for the pulley system? I just want to know where I’m going before I start marching off in the wrong direction.”

(Continue discussion if you like, but timeline continues in separate Engineering thread here)
