Zen frowned at looked at Lucas a moment before offering him some water too. ”alright there” he asked as he gestured to the seat next to him.

XONatalie looked around the room as she took a drink of the water that Zen had brought. There were one or two others that were still outside but should be on their way in.

Natalie looked at the first officer “Commander, what is our status within the ship?” She asked Zen “Over all status. We’ll get detailed reports from each department.” She said clarifying her request.

ooc: ok I’m gonna assume everyone is here then because reading back that seems to be what Jason said. Jason correct me if I’m wrong .
Zen looked around at the gathered DHs, “Well I don’t think it’s likely we will be getting our warranty money back.” He said grimly. “We are low on power and frankly low on options. I think moving forward that we need to deal with the basics of survival and on establishing communications with starfleet or at least to send a distress signal. For that we are going to need power and for survival we are going to need to get out and explore a bit and find some food and water. The ships rations won’t last long and without power we are limited to what We can get.”
He looked around at the assembled section heads. “I suggest that we get a report from each of the departments and then we split into two groups, one to start building a vessel of some sort to get us access to the land areas so we can get supplies and another so we can get some sort of power up and running again.”
He looked at Natalie. “I would suggest Captain that you with your background in engineering remain with the ship and I would take a small party out to…” he paused searching for the correct word and gave Lucas a sideways glance before settling on the only one that seemed appropriate. “…hunt.”

XOLt. Furood politely shouldered his way past the taller officers so he could be seen better by the Commander. He closed one baseball-sized eye as a fellow officers sleeve came close to swabbing his cornea. The way it sank into the socket made his open eye seem almost cartoonish. He blinked a few times as he started to speak. “Sir, I recommend that Ensign Anderson and I accompany you on the…foraging expedition.” His tone of voice offered the alternative as a suggestion without stepping on the Commander’s toes. He had seemed dissatisfied with ‘hunt.’ Maybe foraging would sit better with him. “Lieutenant Foley can lead security efforts aboard the ship and liaise with the other departments to direct security personnel to aid where it’s needed while we search.”

Zen smiled at the security chief, a slight turn up at the corners of his mouth. His scarlet eyes made the smile Seem somewhat less reassuring than was intended. “Foraging is much more appropriate a term, thank you Lieutenant.” He agreed.

“As far as communications are concerned Mr. Smythe and myself have gotten parts to run a cable through 7 decks from the bridge to Engineering using a headset as a way to communicate. It should last for awhile with the power level we have.”
