Main Engineering, Main Sim (engineering)

“I cannot say I agree with the Ensign, Captain, but I will follow your orders. Considering your orders, I think we should look at the communication array and see what needs to be done to fix that then…I mean for local communication. I mean if it is designed to work (under normal circumstances) to other ships and so on, it stands to reason that we could adapt it to our local use here.”

Natalie nodded “Let’s go. The sooner we get to work the sooner we can have at least ship wide communications back up and running.” She said “What if we revert to analog waves instead. Like a short wave radio?”

CO

“Logic would dictate that power be the first priority unless we have enough crew members to focus on both power generation efforts and local communication repair efforts,” said the NE Vulcan, “Without power, there is not much we can do to confirm whether the communication system is working or not.”

GM

Natalie nodded “Let’s start with the power issue and see what we can get going.” She said as she moved toward the main part of the saucer to see if they could do something to get main or even secondary power up and running again.

CO

Riker followed the Captain’s order and the suggest of the Ensign and went with the small group to see how they could get the power up. “Captain, what if we took parts from the warp engine to build a make-shift power generator?” inquired the CE.

Riker MacMoragh
Chief Engineer

“That may very well work.” She said “I’ll go down to main engineering and see what we can scrounge up to make work.” She said “Let see what we can come up with. Two minds are better than one.”

“Should I come with you, Ma’am?” inquired Riker

Riker

Natalie nodded “Yes, let’s go. Two minds are better than one.” She said trying to think of a creative way to at least get communications up and running and getting at least secondary power back up. Natalie looked at Riker “What are you thinking?” She asked.

OOC: Uh… if I’m recalling my Trek tech correctly, doesn’t a warp core require magnetic fields to operate to keep the anti-matter separate from matter in order to have a stable controlled reaction?

GM

OOC: It does. Natalie will see what other power cells we have that can be used to help with the power for the ship.

Tyra

When the Captain showed up in Main Engineering, an NE spotted her. “Ma’am? Is there something I can assist you with?” The dark unlit warp core only served to remind them the gravity of the current situation and how stuck they were.

GM

Natalie smiled “Power cells?” She said “Extra ones, also couplings.” She said thoughtfully and looked at Riker “What else?”

CO

“Power cells where what I was thinking about, Ma’am. Assuming they were not all destroyed in the crash” answered Riker.

Riker

“Power cells?” an exhausted-sounding voice came from the corner. “I don’t think we have anything bigger than one for a phaser right now, sirs?” Jon said, looking like he’d been working for more than 16 hours while at least a pint low on blood. Which, in fairness, he was.
