Sara looked around and noted the lack of chimneys. How are these places heated? And how is the blacksmith clearing smoke? she thought. Since they had no money, and nothing more than their skills to barter, she kept her distance, trying to look as though she was just passing through. Quietly, she asked the away team, “Thoughts anyone?”

-Cmdr SaraKiernan, XO

“Commander, the presence of all these glass windows indicates something unusual,” said an NE, “Mass manufacturing of glass would indicate a higher level of civilization technology yet… all these buildings seem medieval in design. Also the various bright colors in the clothing indicate at least a level of technology in the use of dye products, possibly. And I’m not sure, Commander, but I could have swore I saw a picture of a shop with a magical hat and wand. One other thing to note, tricorder readings have indicated one building different from the rest. Readings show the building uses cement – certainly odd considering the level of technology sophistication we are currently reading, and it’s a bit of away from this area of commerce but along the main road.”

GM

“Alright. Let’s keep ‘browsing’ but head that way.” Sara wanted to stay under the radar. Even if this medieval society was a falsehood, she couldn’t say how it was created or how they would react to visitors.

-Cmdr Sara Kiernan, XO

“Sorry, Commander, the unusual building is actually south of our position. The shop with a magical hat and wand is north of our position. Did you want us to split up?”

GM

Amber frowned. “I would advice against splitting up. We are a small enough group as it is. I’d say we check out the anomalous building to the south, first. If it’s reading that distinctly, perhaps whoever is there can provide more answers than a ‘magic shop’ you called it?” She wasn’t being condescending, she just didn’t believe in magic. Science and medicine were routed in fact and flying objects and predictions of the future were anything but.

“Oftentimes you can find a very logical explanation for whatever might be called magic. And I tend to agree that we should minimize risk here and stay together. Let’s head south.”

-Cmdr Sara Kiernan, XO

Lillian was just following the group and observing the strange town they where walking threw.
“so there is something off here” she followed the group watching the rear “even tho it seamed that like it was unlikely they we would be attacked but if they are advance pretending to not be if we discover them they might consider us a tread” Lillian made sure to keep looking around

Arriving at the building that was made of concrete, the away team found a three story building, with the first floor what appeared to be a Japanese restaurant. The sign outside was in Japanese, that read: 異世界焼き鳥 (Isekai Yakatori) – the universal translator translated the text as “Different World Yakatori”

The building was styled Japanese, and stood out radically different from the rest of the buildings on the street. Additionally, the tricorder indicated the building was in slight dimensional flux.

GM

Amber frowned at her translator, “Different World Yakatori. Yakatori may be a local phrase. But my guess is ‘different world’ may relate to the fact that with this place being slightly out of phase, we are in a different world to whomever this place belongs to. Question is, do we trust it enough not to phase out with us in it?” She glanced at that others. “Commander,” she nodded to the XO, “I think even if we choose to enter, it wouldn’t be wise for you to. You are too valuable to risk if we phase out. And someone would need to let the Asimov know what occurred.” She didn’t like the idea of anyone going in. But if they were, which, sadly, they needed to to get answers, the XO seemed to much at risk to take a chance.
