Jean woke up on the floor of the cell. His head hurt and pounded. He opened his eyes rolling onto his feet. Once he got straight he looked around. “Where am I? How did I get in here?” He bellowed out to anyone that will answer.

Zoz-Eki-Ion floated outside the cell in fill view of the prisoner.S/He was preening which is to say s/he as running fingerhands over himself to ensure that he had no blemishes or woulds he was unaware of. It was standard practice to do so after any sort of encounter. The prisoner was awake now it seemed and while all the data was already collected and in the system procedure required a verbal confirmation. For whatever reason Zoz had been asked to do this. And so the 4 foot tall floating giant squid had been waiting for the prisoner to wake up. S/he had been told as well s/he ought to show the prisoner her mouth and to smile in a pretty way for the prisoner. S/he was fairly sure that her mouth being as it was more beak like and consisting of 6 razor sharp bone plates used to cut food was such as made most humanoids uncomfortable. But the suggestions of senior security were not to be ignored. So s/he pivoted enpugh so the mouth was visible and brandished her tenticles in a threatening display as instructed.
“You are The engineer Jean-Francois Chereau?”, S/he asked starting the list of questions “I am required in the interest of providing you with the opertunity to explain your crime so that you may recieve a just and impartial judgement.”, s/he thought that phraise sounded akward in structure but Galactic standard was not her primary language and the universal translator was imperfect. Not for the first time s/he wished she could use Argozonite technology but it was both Argozonite and Federation polocy to not expose primatives to higher functioning technologies. S/he returned to her normal posture and soothed out the kilt s/he wore by way of uniform.

Jean was about to answer the thing when the Captain came barging in. He did not like the tone.

It was at that moment that the Door to the Brig Opened and in walked a very angry Andorian woman with shoulder-length white hair it was styled in a messy Punk rocker style Her antenna were twisted in anger as she walked in her Bright green Cybernetic eyes were having a hard time focusing she marched up to the two “I will take it from here Ensign” she snapped to Zoz Though her anger was not fully directed at him she turned to the Cell “Who are you and what gives you the right to fire on my crew members?” she growled the anger on her face as she stood there looking at the young man

Zoz didn’t move as s/he could see in every direction. The blue anntennaed humanoid bristling in anger could only be the ships Captain. S/he understood the chain of command well enough to not dispute her right to be there. But it was a potentially akward situation as under Federation law and Starfleet regulation the prisoner retained a right to personal safety. Zoz could see a future on a frozen asteroid looming in it’s future if s/he was required to restrain the Captain. Andorians were noted as a emotional species prone to aggressiveness when provoked. “The Prisoner Captain, has only just awoken , and may still be in a state of sluggishness, and disorientation”, s/he said in a effort to say something to distract the Captain long enough to allow a less hostile mindset to prevail. It was to Zoz’s thinking a long shot. But s/he had been tasked to guard the prisoner so had to keep everyone safe.

“I was about to say the same thing to you lady. Who are you? I would listen to this .... this.... I’m sorry I don’t know what you are. But I would listen if you know what’s good for you. ” With that Jean-Francois sat back down on his bunk not even giving this lady a standing attention.

Tralla’s Eyes went wide at the young man’s attitude she turned to Zoz however and whispered so only S/he could hear. “Would you mind searching the computers for his record…I am beginning to wonder if he even was a part of the Memorial’s crew, to begin with,” Then she turned back to the brash Ensign who seemed to think himself above a captain “Ensign you best show me some respect Otherwise I can promise you your career here in Starfleet will be over before it even began I am the Captain of the USS Memorial Tralla Sh’ Zoarhi! And you Had best Unscrew that head of yours Before you wind up in more trouble than you can handle” she said clearly trying to simply get the Ensign to understand the position he was in “Why did you fire on the Away team members?” she asked her Cybernetic eyes focusing on him

Zoz floated over to the desk and searched for the data requested

The files would come back that he was on the ship that got destroyed for almost a year. He actually does not have anything negative in his file. In fact he has two accommodations. One for bravery in the face of a hull breach and another for courage under extreme conditions.

Jean smiled and sat down on his cot. He spread out his arms in a gesture and in a calm voice, “Captain. Thank you for telling me. My name is Jean-Francois Chereau, from Engineering. I am not part of your vessel so I did not know who you were. As for your other question about why I fired on your crew, well you’ll have to wait for that response. I want a tribunal and I want an Admiral to oversee it. One that doesn’t know you. The reason being is that I am going to accuse not only the XO and some of the Department Heads, but you as well. So it will be a conflict of interest for you or anyone here to preside over. Now if you’ll let me be I am not going to say anything else on the matter without my lawyer. Oh and I could use a hot meal since it’s been days since I’ve eaten. Thank you Captain. ” He smiled to her again.

Her Antenna stood in shock and her eyes went wide “I see May I ask what you Intend to Charge me and my crew with?” she asked her voice calm and level through it was clear she was still very angry “And do you honestly believe anything you attempt to Charge me or my crew who by the way are the ones who rescued you from the wreckage of the USS Titan will even be considered when you have just committed high treason by firing on my crew?” The imposing Andorian asked giving him time to respond

Jean just looked at her. “You’ll see and you have your orders Captain.”

“Either way I will send a message to Starbase 243 and have everything arranged for when we return My ship took some damage that we need to get patched up and we are due for a minor crew rotation,” she said turning away looking at Zoz for a moment “Ensign will you please see to the Prisoners needs then she walked out the door of the brig

Zoz looked over the files again. “Your attitude was abraisive. I am curious if that was on purpose.”, Zoz then went about preparing to feed the prisoner.
“I will neet to appologise for the lack of a palatable selection.”, all indications were that the prisoner was both secretive and hostile . So Zoz arranged for a meal plan that provided no posability of anything being useful as a weapon or any form of contact with the prisoner. A simple nutricional bar of a soft and gooey consistancy and biodegradable bag of water. “It is advised that you drink your water immediately as it’s container will disolve within minites of your reciept.”, there was no table or seat so the food and water materialised on the floor. Too many escape attempts had occured at feeding time. The transporter system was attuned to work through the cell but was inadequate to beam more than the food bars and water. The brig area was heavily shielded against scans and transporter lockons. Zoz didn’t imagine the prisonercwould be any more forth coming with him than he had been with the Captain so didn’t bother to try and talk to him.

As the food and water materialized he picked it up and sat on the bed. “Thank you very much Ensign. This will do nicely. And thank you for thr water tip. I understand why things are being done the way they are. ” He drank the water and then ate his food.
