: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Time seemed to slow. Everything went into slow motion. Each person looking about noted their vision having … issues. People were there and moving but everyone could see their motions as though in a time lapse. Moreover, there were multiple persons of each present. Most were close by where one was though some were in different places on the bridge. Morever, each one could, technically see each other as each one looked sidelong in some way even as the crew looked to be. Voices could be heard now and again over others.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : In more than one of these instances they felt the ship, and themselves, suddenly blow in an overwhelming explosion. In more than one of these instances they felt, momentarily, their own deaths. Then, almost as suddenly, it was over. The ship still shuddered though it was decreasing. Many many systems were showing red or on the line, but critical systems were not increasing in intensity but coming under some control.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Logan closed his eyes for a moment to try and get the feelings out of his mind, that had been an unpleasant experience, seeing and feeling himself and the ship simply cease to exist, wiped from existence. He hadn’t a clue what had happened but as far as he knew, that wasn’t normal for a slingshot around a star. One or two of the versions of him and the crew he could have sworn had slightly different uniforms, but that may have been a trick of whatever had been affecting his vision as much as his mind.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “Critical systems are stabilizing” he reported from his console, “We have damage Sir.” Logan began to run a damage report to see what the priorities were.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Kenny let out a sigh of relief, glancing at the officer. “What systems need the most care most urgently?” he asked, sliding down from his spot on the engine to go over to Logan and check himself.

(O) Engineering… Please tell us your still with us and we’re in one piece.(O) She then glanced at everyone in the room. “Everyone ok?” Her mind counting those on the bridge to be sure no one was missing as result of the temperature anomaly.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Kenny reached for a comm box, pressing the button. [O]We’re a-okay down here. Or at least, we’re alive[O]
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Of the engineering crew there were some injuries, though minor. One had banged his head on a console after a slip and fall and would need attention. Most would, but that one was the most critical.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : He pressed it again. [Engineering to Medical, we’ve got a split head over here, critical condition[C]
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : [O]Sickbay here, Engineering. We’ll send a couple of medical down to collect your injured crew. [C]
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Ship wise the power distribution systems looked to have issues. Power levels were fluctuating over the ship. None of the power issues were going to compromise the ship but it did show that there was at least two power junctions that had overload signs and would need components replaced.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Structurally there were three areas that the structural integrity was of moderate to serious - one at the bow where the hull plating had shown buckling though, thankfully not rupture. One nacelle showed strain and one coil showed damage. It may need to be replaced via something out of stores. Until then they were not about to do warp anything - at least not safely. The third area was around the grapple where the strain of hanging onto an object of its weight had almost pulled it out of its moorings. There it was showing some rupturing, however on the interior and not exterior.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : There was a series of reports in of lighting issues, a lavatory that had essentially reconstituted its contents, many items with minor damage that was not nailed down and had shifted too radically, and at least a dozen overloaded panels and consoles.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : The kitchen reported a .. mess.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : One lift was reporting out being halted between deck 2 and 3.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “Alright, ladies and gentlemen, let’s get to fixing this place!” he exclaimed. “Jerry, Coop, and Kayla, get yourselves three officers each. Jerry, I want a team down around the grapple area, and Coop, I want you in the bow. Kayla, you’ll be fixing the nacelle, I want some people going to grab the coil to replace the broken one, and I want you in EV suits as soon as possible,” he exclaimed, sliding down a ladder to get to the injured crewman.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Kenneth Fleet
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : He was conscious though was not focusing well on Kenneth. “There be three of you …” he said reaching out but ‘missing’ Kenneth. “Sorry if I damaged anything with my head. Mama always said I had a hard head.”
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : As promised within five minutes two burly Medical NE’s trotted into Engineering carrying a collapsible stretcher and med kits. The darker haired of the two looked around,
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “Who’s hurt here?” He asked through the chaos.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : NE Meds

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : IC: After being shown the indicated injured crewman and hearing the poor man’s confused mutterings, the NE’s set up the stretcher and carefully helped the engineer to lay down on it. While one did so, the other ran the medical scanner’s biowand over the man.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “Slight concussion, no internal bleed though.”The man said as he put the scanner back into its slot and reshouldered the med scanner itself to help lift his end of the stretcher.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “Right, let’s get him to sickbay so one of the docs can have a look at him.” The two then proceeded to pick up the laden stretcher and make their way out of Engineering.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : Logan moved forwards with the three crew, Huey, Louey and Brian, that were heading to the Bow section with him, hand scanners and tool kits ready. “We’ll check the internals around the plating to make certain we have no ruptures or stress that needs immediate attention” he told the CE, “We just took a beating, I’d rather not trust the internal sensors completely just yet.”

: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : IC: “Good thinking, Lt.” Kenny said with a smile, nodding to the engineer before he made his way over to Jerry to talk with him about the repairs that needed doing. “NEs Lisa and Graham, I want you checking and re-checking everything. I want to make sure there’s absolutely nothing we missed,” he shouted across the room, causing two ensigns to jump to attention and get to their assigned task. The best past of being chief was being able to assign tasks to everyone else.

: : : : : : : : : : : Fleet
: : : : : : : : : : : CE
: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : As the four engineers moved to the bow and entered the rather cramped regions they found some good and some not so good, but, fortunately nothing too pressing, pardon the pun.
: : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : Scanners detected a series of micro-fractures around the edges of the plating junctions and sections. That was loosing atmosphere so to speak, however at a very small rate that it was only really detectable by the scanners. In time the systems would have picked it up. However, each will need to be addressed and plugged.
: : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : The plating itself looked as though a giant hand had closed on it tightly and in essence scrunched the plating. It was warped and dented. Structurally it was sound, though at any kind of hull plating rating Logan would estimate that it was at 79% integrity in the hull for withstanding further … force.
: : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : Wookiee
: : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : “Alright team” Logan said as he returned to the start point after walking the rounds with the hand scanner and noting the locations for the needed repairs, “Lets split into pairs, Huey and Louey take the Port sections from the main bulkhead down, Brian and I will work on Starboard sections. Seal the Micro-fractures and check your work, watch for the EPS lines and any fractures close to them, last thing you want is to be fried or spaced from an EPS blowout on a fracture.”
: : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : As the NE’s moved off, Logan motioned for Brian to pick up their repair kit and headed to their own starting point, stopping at a nearby communication panel.
: : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : [O] Chief this is Lieutenant Cooper, we have micro-fractures in the bow section venting a small amount of atmosphere. It’s not much, hardly detectable, but the plating has taken a beating and we have around 80% plating integrity left to us once we polarize it. We are starting repairs on the micro-fractures in case they rupture if the plating takes any more damage. It’s nothing critical right now, but it will take some time. [O]
: : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : Leaving the comm open, Logan turned and took one of the repair tools that Brian handed him, then held up the hand scanner and nodded to a particular section. “Just there, between those two supports. Get that panel off and lets get started.”
: : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : Lt (j.g) Cooper
: : : : : : : : : : Engineer
: : : : : : : : :
: : : : They were able to, without issue, plug the holes so to speak. As they moved from one place to another Cooper came to something that was much more serious .. there was a place in the hull where the plates had buckled and bent. While ‘they’ were intact by some miracle, a cabling that powered the hull polarization had stretched and frayed and was stripped. Again it was a miracle that it was working, however if it had full power through it to polarize the hull it would certainly arc to the hull and fry components through that entire area - not to mention the potential of anyone in that area - and likely take down their defenses for the foreseeable future.
: : : :
: : : : This was not going to be a quick fix. With how it was integrated into the hull it was not a quick plug and play.
: : : :
: : : : : : : : : [O] Good to know, Coop. Be careful in there, [O] the voiced reply came back. Kenny was getting suited up for the possibly radiated repairs to the Nacelles. He had an Engineer fetching the needed components that needed to be replaced.

: : : : :
: : : : : Kenny grabbed the comms again, pressing the button. [O] I think that’s a question to direct towards Science. Sensors is their department, my job is keeping hull integrity up and engines running, [O] he replied.

: : : “Brian look here” Cooper said as he pointed out the area of buckling and stripped cabling, using his hand scanner to assess the state of the buckle before taking a closer look at the cabling. After a few moments, he stepped back and looked to his assistant, “Head back to Main Engineering and bring a coil of EPS polarization cabling, we need to replace this whole section and jury rig a workaround before someone gets fried.” As the NE nodded and headed off to do his masters bidding, Coop sent a quick comm to the rest of his team [O] Forward Engineering Party, we have a polarization power issue creating a risk to the ship, keep off the hull plating until further notice [C] then he keyed the comm again to the Chief Engineer.
: : :
: : : [O] Chief, this is Logan. We have polarization cable that has been stripped by the buckling, if we polarize the hull while it is like this we are going to send uncontrolled current through the hull and fry systems and anybody in contact with the hull plating on either side. Until we replace it, we can’t polarize the hull, and even when we jury rig a workaround we may not be able to polarize this section where the buckling damaged the cable. Brian is heading back to Engineering to get the replacement coil, it’s going to take some time. [O]

: : Just a bump to keep it up :P
:
: [O]Thanks for letting me know,[O] the Chief replied, scratching his nose. [O]Just do your best, Logan. It’s all wee can hope for until we can get in the right equipment to properly fix everything that’s been banged up by this mission,[C] He sighed, then headed up to the nacelle to personally inspect the dmaage there.

OOC: You might wish to inform the bridge on the dangers of polarization at the moment, before we try to polarize unknowingly:)

Krys

OOC: where are my engineers? and my GM, describing what the Nacelle conditions are so I can fix them?
- Miriam

OOC: I have just returned from LOA and will be nudging everyone who is MIA:)

Krys

The nacelle conditions were not ‘bad’. It wasn’t that they had gotten twisted about like licorice or anything like that, though that would have made for a good field trip for the engineers. In the port nacelle, however, a warp coil had, well, failed. The condition might be that it just fractured, or that it melted, or that it decided to just die, but before they went too far they’d need to replace that. Fortunately they did have a spare in stores for that very emergency.
- Wookiee

Kenny assessed the damage and determined that a replacement was all that was needed. He quickly got to work on transferring the spare coil from stores to the port nacelle while a couple of his staff disengaged and removed the broken one.

CE

Given that they were stationary now they had the ample opportunity to do this. When they came to the location of the warp coil they found it was not unlike a bad tooth. Some parts could be easily pulled; one area was burned and melted into the casing and would take some more work to extract that. They wouldn’t be going to warp for a few more hours by the look of it …
- Wookiee
