The results from the away team have finally come in: On the bridge Doc House would be surprised to find Mr. Hampton stirring and no longer asleep, but coming to. Scans of each crew member were taken and recorded and sent directly to the shuttle to be forwarded to the doctor.
Their brains showed strain in the frontal cortex, much where human psychics show increased brain activity. A chemical very similar to psilosynine (in Betazoids) showing up as a large neurotransmitter in their brains. The scans of Mr. Hampton show that the levels are much lower. The reason unknown, but perhaps why he woke up.
Sandman
A few painful minutes later =^= Stand buy to revive casualties=^= as the biobeds begins to fill with unconscious members of the away teams.

The Doctor got to action right away, making sure to have space for everyone and directing the nurses and doctors to their patients. Doctor Fey began mixing the chemical to help wake them slowly so as not to apply unnecessary stress to their systems.

Much to everyone’s dismay and chagrin, the good counselor was the first to appear in sickbay, passed out and looking like someone had tried to set her on fire. The rest of away team one appeared very soon after. They were all deeply asleep, and their bodies showing signs of the same physical stress, malnutrition and dehydration, of the Cpt. Endust, and extreme mental fatigue. Their brains would show a telepathic neurotransmitter in their brains, even those that were NOT telepathic, and it was causing alarming amounts of stress. The counselor, showed signs of her paracortex, the Betazoid part of the brain responsible for telepathy, was shutting down and the psilosynine in her brain was almost non-existent.

LCARS and Lt. Synthi-er, RTF

“Get everyone on Bio Neural regulators and psychic suppressants until their neural activity returns to normal.” The Doctor moves Lieutenant Synthi-er to a biobed with a surgical suite to start the repair process of burned skin while a nurse applies the psychic suppressant and the cortical stimulator to regulate the neural activity. “Computer, make a note that I must ask the Counselor what burned her while she was on the ship.” The computer beeps in confirmation.

Scan would show that the original away team were somehow psychically connected. The electrical impulses caused by the neurotransmitter were pulsing on the same strength and rhythm. It may not be safe to separate them with suppressants (OOC: Only because I want to let them finish their thread first. If no one wants to finish that thread then go ahead with this). The bio regulators appeared to be minimizing the mental/physical strain on the brain and therefore regulating the other biofunctions. Though many still showed signs of dehydration and the beginnings of malnutrition.

Doctor Fey didn’t need to worry about the rest of the away team at this point. The other doctors and nurses would know to put them on IVs to get them fluids and nutritional supplements until they could wake up on their own.

Casela groaned and opened her eyes as they moved her. She registered she was in sickbay with Kastil. “No....” She looked to the side, moved too far already to see the away team. She grabbed Fey’s arm. “Hampton? Did he get him?” Her voice was strained but coherent. She tried to twist, ignoring the tight dried skin from Hampton’s weapon, trying to find the away team. She saw the filled beds, but was unable to identify anyone. She laid back closing her eyes. When she opened them again she was in the surgical suite, again. “No.” She looks at the nurse, “Kastil is not operating on me again.” Then the previous events surfaced and she tried to sit up. “Gen? Where’s Gen?” And where was Ryder? She wouldn’t ask Kastil, that was too personal. He should be on the bridge. He didn’t leave the ship, he wouldn’t have, not with 2 away teams already out, but Gen was supposed to be in sickbay with the doctor. “Where is she?”
Lt. Synthi-er, CNS/RTF

Doctor Kastil backed up from the Lieutenant a step and held up her hands, “You have burns and other yet unknown injuries, are you going to let me do my job or do I need to sedate you?”

  • Doctor Fey Kastil with horrible bedside manner today

Casela laid back down. “No doctor, you won’t have to sedate me.” She had no desire to repeat that experience. The burns must be why her skin felt so tight and raw. She looked at Kastil again. “Where’s Gen?” And where was Ryder? The visions from Sandman were harsh and painful. She turned her mind to other things, noticing the telepathic inhibitor taking hold, and it helped, a lot. “What about the away team and Hampton? What happened?” Please don’t let it have been for nothing. “What about the shuttle team? The Ferengi? They had weapons locked on the Einstein.” So she was laying still that didn’t mean she couldn’t barrage the med staff with questions.
Lt. Synthi-er

Doctor Fey lifted a finger to her lips to silence the counselor, “We have the away team and some uncleared volunteers. I suggest you not be so vocal on things until we can do the debrief. For now, rest and let us heal you.” The doctor sent a quiet message to Ryder that the counselor was asking about him and Gen and to come visit sickbay when things are not being stressful to help put her mind at ease. Then she got back to work repairing the burns on the counselor.
