“I will be happy if I don’t have to use a phaser to trim my tusks when this is over!” Bog growled as he continued to adjust the graviton beam. Even he had to admit it had been a hail marry but some how his hair brained plan worked.

“I Wouldn’t cele…” Hampton was cut off by a sudden blast from the orb, which momentarily penetrated the containment field, striking him in the chest. It knocked him back against the bulkhead. His body began to slowly disintegrate. He looked down as his limbs had already faded off. He looked back at Bog, a mix of fear and anger in his eyes, they narrowed one last time and he spat venomously. “Good job pig.” Then a second later, he was gone.

Lt. William Hampton- CE

“Well that’s not good!”

Bog watched as Hampton faded. His eyes narrowed as he turned back to the anomaly. “That was for me to do, you motherless stain!” He growled. “Get me every graviton emitter we have! I am going to fold this thing up and put this thing into a deep hole!” As his mind began to spin the idea of this thing actually becoming core for a temporal drive and how one actually harnessed began to form…

Bog

Durheim immediately started barking orders; following up for Bog. “You sir; don’t just stare, get back to work! If that fails, we’ll all go the way of Mr Hampton! Keep swapping those relays; get me the numbers off of those sensors!” He turned towards Ensign Surda; a new and fierce light in his eyes. “We need your help, Ma’am - keep the crew on task; do not let anyone step away from their work - this is critical, and Mr Hampton’s death is meaningless if this is not contained.”

Jonathan considered comming the bridge to let them know what was happening; but what difference would it make? Mr Hampton was dead - spreading the news would do nothing but incite panic and confusion. And worse yet; possibly prevent work from being done!

Privately, Durheim knew his place within the unwritten hierarchy of the Leviathan - that of Chief Minion. He assumed this persona now; directing the other technicians and ensuring that work continued along Mr Bog and the other engineer’s directions. Before long; he had cowed most everyone enough to continue their work, and those few were more hesitant to approach the orb again were sent on retrieval missions, gathering crucial equipment.

Chief Minion Durheim, Engineering

Surda nodded. “Security checks will have to wait, immediate containment is far more important.” She frowned and stepped back a bit, observing all of the technicians and engineers. =^= This is Surda to Manhattan, we might have a bit of a situation down here. =^=

As the area descended into controlled chaos, Nakuto’s own eyes remained fixed on the body of William Hampton. She had only met the man briefly, a friendly visit to his office had not ended on cordial terms. But still, she had seen glimpses of the warrior within him, had sensed the battles he had faced to win his position within the Federation. And for that, he deserved the same honour as any other fallen soldier.

Moving quickly over to him, the half-Klingon fell to her knees and lifted his head to cradle it in her lap. Then, her eyes turned up to the heavens, she unleashed a roar that reverberated through every inch of the engineering deck and out into the corridors beyond. And to those souls, drinking in the grand and glorious halls of Sto-vo-kor, was sent an order:
Prepare a warrior’s welcome for William Hampton, for he has earned his place amongst you. His work here is done.
