Casela didn’t sigh exactly, but she felt defeated. She’d offended him, though she wasn’t sure of that. Something in his tone when he answered. “I don’t mean to sound offensive.” She’s trying to put the pieces together herself and she’s too close to the problem and she knows it. “I’m trying to trust you, Ryder. I,” she realizes it’s the specifics of his solution that’s he’s dancing away from. She sees the logic, or her logic, of why he wouldn’t want to tell her. “I understand you don’t want to tell me what you are planning to do. I’m too close to the problem, I know that. I guess I’m looking for your skill set, your previous experiences. I don’t even see Raauhl in you. There is nothing similar between you and Noa. Nothing, and so there is no part of him that I recognize.” She admits that’s probably a good thing since Noa was such a problem, even to Raauhl apparently. “I never read your service file. After our little,” she makes a circular hand motion while she talks, “sparing session I thought it would be prudent to let one of my staff be assigned to you. The only inquire I’ve made is to see your clearance level. So I would know, if you ever asked me, what I could and could not tell you, which is quite a lot by the way.” What she knew was that Ryder was patient, extremely charismatic, and made stunning jewelry. She couldn’t figure out how that was supposed to help her. She knew there was so much more to him than that. He was asking her to make a leap she didn’t know how to make. She trusted him, more than anyone, and for whatever reason she wanted to make that leap, she just didn’t know how.

“That surprises me,” He said with a small smile, “For someone who likes to know everything about everyone” He was teasing her again, playfully trying to lighten the mood and move past their current conversation. “The truth in the matter is Cas is that we cannot prepare for something we do not understand nor know when if at all it or they are coming so, for now, don’t worry.” He moved closer to her, running his hand up and down her arm smiling reassuringly at her, his gaze affixed to hers.

Casela laughed a little. “It’s not anything new. There were far too many times I went with no information and built my own file on the fly, as it were.” She shrugs a little, the movement mostly playful. “And I never said I didn’t know everything, just that I didn’t look at your file.” She thought this idea that you can’t plan for something was absurd. If you didn’t know, you went and found out. She repressed the urge to go launch her shuttle and find out for herself. She had some inquires to make first. And Valkyrja would never make it out of the shuttle bay at the moment. She looked over at him and sighed seeing his gaze latch to hers. He wanted her agreement, and she could but it would be a lie, and she didn’t want to lie to him. She shifted subtly closer to him. Her voice dropped to a whisper, teasing, “You don’t worry, it’s bad for someone of your advanced age.”

Her movement and voice sent a spark of electricity over this skin, “Some call it advanced age others call it experience.” Raauhl leant in and kissed her gently on the lips at first, testing the water and seeing how she would respond whilst his hand gently took hers. Ryder wouldn’t say he was the compulsive type but it was something about Casela that just stirred feelings and thoughts in him that he didn’t think he would have of anyone.

Her voice is low, barely heard except in the space between them. “Experience? That sounds like you’re trying to warn me of something.” Casela took his hand as she kissed him back. Whatever it was about it, he always held her hand when he kissed her. Maybe he wanted to make sure her hot-headed temper didn’t decide to hit him or something. That thought wasn’t as funny as it used to be. Whenever he kissed her she tended to forget where she was and what she should be doing, and that was danergous for someone like her. But she kept coming back anyway. She wrapped her other arm around him.

He chuckled, it was getting late and yawned as if to indicate his tiredness. “No warnings. I’m not the one with the dark and mysterious past remember” He winked and positioned himself to make the embrace more comfortable. “So, do you feel any better?” He only asked because of her concerns towards the unknown entity. “If the answer is no I’m gonna have to just sedate and confine you to the brig” He teased.
