The containment field appeared to be stable now, and the anomaly looked to be contained. The readings of the field were no longer fluctuating.

Durheim nodded in satisfaction as the numbers on the PaDD started to stabilize; though he was unwilling to relax even a micron - anomalies were not to be trusted. He continued his dictator-like supervision of the other crewmen and technicians; keeping them on task and focused on the job in front of them. Even with the situation seemingly calming down; he didn’t want anyone to loose focus - the air was still tense from Lt. Hampton’s death; and panic could still prove fatal.

Quietly, he spoke to Bog. “Mr. Bog; I believe the situation is calming - perhaps the anomaly dumped much of it’s energy into the Lt. Either way; unless things change rapidly; we are ready to begin on a permanent containment setup. I think we can re-use much of this temporary system; but I do want to replace several components.”

Durheim, Engineering

“If you have a plan, implement it Mr. Durheim. If any one gives you grief, I will hight their heads off.” The tone, look and squeaking of his feathers left no doubt he ment that literally.
“ I intend to find out what happened to Hampton, I wanted the pleasure of killing him myself!” His demeanor changed, as much as they fought Hampton had whone not only the first round but Bog’s grudging respect.
Smashing his com badge again. =^= bolt of energy breached containment and struck Hampton. He faded a way wile cursing me.=^= it was rather sweet acualy Big thought. Now to review the scans, do new ones and figure out what in Brolak’s hells happens to his Chief.

Bog

Rising to her feet, Nakuto stepped away from the shell that had once been William Hampton and approached the two engineers.
“Good work Mr Dunheim, Mr Bog,” she bowed her head respectfully to each in turn. “It appears as if we have the anomaly contained for now. The next task, as well as establishing a more permanent containment, will be a scientific analysis of the anomaly itself.”

“Yes; but the key word, Miss Nakuto, is ‘appears.’ Please do be careful - there is plenty of work remaining that could likely benefit from your expertise.” Jonathan spoke somewhat absently to the Klingon scientist; a careful listener could hear an indistinct tinny voice squawking through his earpiece.

“Do not worry about…” Nakuto began to roar, her words halted almost immediately by a powerful, and unexpected, flood of unease. Forehead ridges deepened to a frown as she studied the engineer before her, a man whom she had been working alongside of all morning without incident or question. But in that moment she found herself almost consumed by a sense of disquietude regarding Jonathan Durheim, the precise nature of which she found impossible to put her finger on.
Gods be damned! She was no longer on the Viking and had to cease with this jumping at every single shadow!
“…me,” her sentence concluded with far more restraint than it had begun.

To that end, the half-Klingon retrieved her tricorder and made an initial scan of the creature to at least establish a baseline on its physical traits.

A curious expression came over Durheim’s face; a combination of interest and annoyance. He turned away, and had a brief but intense conversion, before his shoulders sagged in defeat. “I’ll be right there, Mr. Raauhl - I’ll need a moment to gather some things.”

Durheim turned stiffly to Bog, addressing him in an atypically formal tone. “Mr. Bog, it seems that I am being summoned; there is an away team forming, possibly related to the entity we have here.” He tapped on his PaDD for a moment, and shortly Bog’s PaDD chimed. “I’ve sent what I have over to you; I believe it is a workable plan, but I apologize for no being able to be present and see it through. You’ll find that Miss Nakuto’s stasis generator can possibly be re-purposed into an energy draining system; though it will tax the gravitron emitters - they aren’t designed for that load, so do be careful.”

Jonathan sighed, turning to scan the containment deck and the frantic crew. Nodding firmly to Nakuto and Bog, “Be careful, and don’t dare get complacent!” And with that he turned; quickly leaving the bay.

Durheim, Engineering

“And you,” the half-Klingon replied, her eyes locked onto the screen of her tricorder by a reluctance to meet those of the retreating engineer.

The readings reflected that the anomaly was almost a cloud of temporal energy condensed into a sphere. There was a strain of energy that appeared to be being siphoned off by a source, but the reading could not make it out. What would stand out to the researcher, was the presence of organic material the tricorder was picking up that had not been there when the anomaly was first brought onboard.
