Quinn stood still looking from Casela to Cobb and as Raauhl spoke to the Surda. She turned her attention back to Casela, she placed her hand gently over Casela’s were she gripped her wrist.

  • Quinn Kindle, Yeoman/RTF

OOC: Sam did we ever identify the single life sign on the other Levi? Or was that Hampton?
IC: Casela nodded at Quinn and released her wrist. Quinn, I really doubt we are going to find anyone alive over there. She stepped back over to her chair and down at the consoles there. Still waiting to see if any other life signs registered and on the identity of the one, whether the computer could identify the specific person or simply give her information on species, gender, weight, height, or even if it was some type of energy pattern. Whatever the sensor could tell her. She walked towards the back where Cobb and Raauhl were standing. Dropping her voice to a semblance of privacy “Whomever you choose to take, Cmdr I suggest you tell them before hand what they are going to see. No one should come across their own corpse unawares.” She turned to Cobb, “Perhaps we should contact Lt. Remington? Someone should investigate Hampton, and search anywhere he’s been. His quarters, engineering, his office, and I’ve heard tell he sends a lot of late nights in an R and D lab he’s designated for himself.” Casela took a deep breath and put the guilt aside. She’d failed to recognize the danger in William Hampton. He was a brilliant engineer and weapons were his specialty. He was obsessed with conspiracies’, though he wasn’t wrong there, and angry, filled with hatred. But she would never had pegged him for a mass murderer. She was either very off in her assessment of him, or the orb did something to change him, make him angrier, turn him into something he truly wasn’t. Either way, it didn’t matter. They either had to stop him or save him.

“Cmdr, will you want the AARM?”
Lt. Synthi-er, CNS

“Aye, get Remington on the case,” Zachariah consented. “Have him interview the engineering crew as well, see what they can tell him about Hampton’s recent behaviour. I also need to know everything possible there is to know about that orb. Tell Commander GLaDOS I’ll send some crewmen to assist Polizzi on the cargo bay and I want all remaining scientists investigating the anomaly.”

“Our own corpse?” She looked between Raauhl and Casela. “Gurjom save me from my own bad judgment,” she muttered in Orion. She switched back quickly. “Alright, sounds like an interesting experience. When do we leave?”
-Surda, CoS

“I am afraid so, Lieutenant,” Cobb reached out and placed a hand on the Orion’s shoulder, as if to silently ask if she were okay with this torturous lot they had all been handed. “And as I said, I want you all prepped and ready to beam out in fifteen minutes. Away team dismissed.”

  • Captain Zachariah Cobb

Surda looked up and met the captain’s eyes, then shrugged. She made her bed, and now she had to lie in it. “Yes, sir.” She looked at Rahuul. “Well? Apparently, there are dead bodies waiting for us.”
-Surda, CoS

“Seems so, ill meet you in the transporter room in ten minutes well do the brief there” He tapped his comm badge, took in a breath and said “Crewman Durheim Please report to transporter room one, you’ve been assigned away team duty, can the on-duty medical personnel also prepare for departure. Ten minutes in the Transporter room, the briefing will be carried out there.” He turned back to Cob, “We’ll have open communications at all times sir.” He nodded once before leaving.

  • Lt Cmdr Raauhl, XO

OOC: Just fixing the split…

IC: Zachariah nodded at his new CoS, then turned his attention to the other officers preparing to depart.
“I want you to stay in constant contact now,” he cautioned them. “Although I’m going to request audio feeds only. The visuals I can study later but I want to minimise the chance of other members of this crew catching a glimpse of…well…”
He shrugged. “Ensign Nauls will be at the transporter controls and can bring you back at the first hint of trouble. There is no call for anyone to go playing a hero here, this is a reconnaissance mission only. Understand?”

Cobb had looked right at her. What? Reconnaissance was her wheel house, she could go in and not kill anything. Well if Hampton made an appearance all bets were off then. “Aye, Sir.” She understood. She didn’t want to go over there any more than anyone else. But if they could figure out what that RTF team did wrong maybe their team could fix it.

He sighed deeply, the strain of the situation visible upon him for the first time. “Now go, all of you, before I change my mind.”

  • Captain Zachariah Cobb

Surda nodded, then turned and left. This was turning out to be an interesting day.
-Surda, CoS

Casela was already at the turbo lift and stepped in and glanced at Cobb and Quinn. Quinn was good at what she did, and was a good choice to keep on board. She gave the captain one of her irreverent two finger salutes as the doors closed.
Lt. Synthi-er, CNS/RTF/KAI9 Handler…wait which reason am I going?

OOC: All of them! lol!

IC: The captain fell into a heavy silence as he watched the away team leave the bridge. Then with a shake of the head, he forced his concentration back to their own current predicament.

“Crewman,” he moved quickly over to Kindle, “I need you to brief Lt Remington on our situation. Have him start an investigation into Hampton’s recent activity onboard our Leviathan. Perhaps talk to Bog and the other engineers, see if they can provide any insight. If he could benefit from your assistance with that then go right ahead.”

  • Captain Zachariah Cobb

Cobb’s combadge buzzed, “Zach, I need to see you in your ready room,” Hampton’s voice came through loud and clear. “I would hate to be kept waiting.”

Mr. Hampton

“I suppose I’d better get down to engineering and…” had been the next step in Cobb’s verbal plan, until the chirp of his commbadge and that familiar-yet-unfathomable voice hissed out.
The captain turned once more to Kindle, his expression stoic and almost unreadable…almost. But as the old man turned towards his ready room, the Yeoman might have caught a faint glimmer of fear in his eyes.

To Cobb, a heavy atmosphere of finality hung over the ship and particularly his ready room, as if it was already a foregone conclusion that his steps into the space would be his last.
“Okay, I’m here,” he announced flatly as he stepped through the door, his eyes searching the room for this perversion of his Chief Engineer. “Now what the hell do you want, Will?”
