The ship still lurched, vacant, the away team’s transporter beams briefly lit up the darkened transporter room. The members would notice first that the only lights were the red alerts notices which turned the entire room red for a second before plunging it once again into complete darkness, just to be lit again for a second. The only sound was the red alert klaxon, which called out to them, desperate to be acknowledged.

The next thing the team would notice was the semicircle of officers standing before them, hands at their sides, standing straight, as if at attention. Their backs, however, were turned, each body facing away from the team, except for their heads. Their blood shot eyes made contact with the teams own gaze, as their heads were seemingly put on backwards. They were the eyes of fear and terror. Their mouths were gone, and simply replaced with hollow holes. Their semi circle surrounded the transporter pad, the only way to get around them was to walk in between them.

Casela looked around, swallowing the horror at the sight of the officers. She was sure this little display had been constructed for their benefit. “Fenrir, as quietly as you can go check the corridor, please. And be careful not to bump anyone.” Casela stepped down off the transporter pad next to the officer directly in front of her. She attempted to close the eyes, out of respect. But then she was turning sideways between that officer and the next and towards the door. She considered trying to sense the life form/Hampton from here, but despite the strength of her telepathy she didn’t have the ability to use it to track anyone. The eerie silence unnerved her, and she resisted the urge to draw a weapon. Hampton had warned her her weapons would do no good, and she had no doubt that was true. She approached the door and looked cautiously down the corridor both ways, bracing herself for the sight of more terrifyingly dead crewmates.

Surda looked closely at the bodies, almost clinical. Her face was impassive, with no sign of surprise or horror. She would have time to be horrified later, or she would be dead. She stepped off the pad, following Casela out of the ring. “Anything?” She spoke quietly, scuffing her feet on the ground before speaking. She likely didn’t need to announce her presence, but it was a habit when coming up behind friends. After a moment of hesitation, she peered into the hallway with Casela. Surda wasn’t disturbed by death, after all, death was a fact of life, but this massacre? It was a tad creepy, especially if the rest of the crew was going to be so precisely placed. It seemed more like a haunted house or a museum than a starship.

Durheim stood on the transporter pad for a moment, assessing his surroundings carefully. Absently, he began narrating his thoughts for the benefit of the small camera embedded into his goggles. “Emergency power… not surprising. Klaxon still sounding strong… life support still working. No immediate signs of battle damage; dead crew… likely automated overrides took over and shut off the main reactor.” Shouldering his bag, he stepped down an moved over to the ring of corpses; examining them with interest. Quietly, he muttered “Very precisely done… clever transporter manipulation? Not done surgically or manually…” Carefully, he prodded the neck of one of the corpses; finding no seam or twisting of the skin and flesh; he raised his eyebrows in admiration. “Very impressive.”

Slipping past the bodies, Durheim moved over to the console, intending to begin running a diagnostic. Pausing, he looked to his superior officers before proceeding - it would seem that stealth, or at least the semblance of it, was encouraged for this mission.

OOC: Jake is on LOA, so this might be wrong, but I figure Casela is RTF so this is her concern…but Raauh can yell at her later.
IC:
Why didn’t they bring a whole RTF team? Oh right, there are crazy time anomalies loose on Leviathan. Surda was part of RTF, but Casela was the only actual active member at the moment. Casela looked at Durheim, “Can you tell from here if the containment decks are secure? Before we move out I want to make sure we aren’t going to run into any of our anomalies.” She looked at Surda. “I am on the opinion this life form is hostile, or the potential when everyone else is dead. And since the Cmdr told the transporter chief to send us to the bridge and we ended up here…What do you think, Surda?” What are you up to Hampton? She was sure it was something. Even just to throw them off their game. Surda was CoS and Casela was more than willing to follow whatever she wanted to do. Casela was more than confident in Surda’s skills.
