OOC: Line of the Night - October

Posted Nov. 1, 2020, 2:50 p.m. by Captain Zachariah Cobb (Commanding Officer) (Sharon Miller)

Hey all,

my favourite time of the month! Here are October’s lines of the night (and as always, this is purely a bit of fun and doesn’t count towards anything official. It’s also inevitably skewed in favour of those who post daily, but that’s just the nature of me choosing a new line every day).

I hope you all enjoy these as much as I do and again, congratulations to every single one of you for just being so darned talented!!!

August Line of the Night:
September Line of the Night:

Date Character Player Line Post
/10/2020 Fey Kastil Brian Armstrong “Oh my dear, is that consent? I do hope so, I am ever so eager to have ‘willing’ subjects.”
/10/2020 Casela Synthi-er Jennifer Ward “Valkyrja was a thing of beauty. She walked over and ran her hands over the outer hull taking in the new configuration. In keeping with their routine insults, “Well, I suppose, Tellek you did the best you could. Even your talents only go so far.”
/10/2020 Genesis (Gen) McCallister Calé Reilly “To say she had just appeared was obviously scientifically impossible. Rather it was as if the floor hand bent the shadows of the room slightly and she had risen up from them, floating for a split second as the poor surface remembered it was a sold and re-exerted this Knowledge, enabling her to stand.”
/10/2020 William Hampton Samuel Stroud “The display of space shifted, and a the image of the Leviathan bridge filled the viewscreen. Cobb saw himself, dead, in the chair, Ryder could make out his body on the floor, a massive cavity in his chest, and Synthi-er could see her limp and deflated body. The rest of the crew laid about bloodied and motionless.”
/10/2020 Erve Manhattan Jay Luistro “It seemed an apocalyptic scenario. The truth was that it was real life for those of the 2nd Squadron.”
/10/2020 Tellek Bog Charles Stevens “Bah, your insults are improving Counselor! Some day you will make some one a worthy wife!”
/10/2020 Surda Leonora V “I’d rather not go alone anyway.” Surda shivered. “Or at least, without your permission. As scary as an angry captain might be, angry scientists can be even worse.”
/10/2020 Jonathan Durheim William Deaton “With that; Durheim quickly extricated himself from the panel he had been working on; replacing the hatch neatly - there was no excuse for sloppy work!”
/10/2020 Genesis (Gen) McCallister Calé Reilly “The sort of feeling that you are being watched in the dark is an old remnant from a time where most humanoid ancestors could remember being hunted in the night. Because things that hunted were still scarier in the gloom. As both men worked that feeling crept slowly forward irrespective if either felt it. Just at the point where the feeling would tread the knife-edge of panic and reason it seemed to solidify into the form of a black and grey clad girl who stepped out if the shadows, eyes aglow and frowned at both Bog and Durheim.”
/10/2020 William Hampton Samuel Stroud “He looked back at Bog, a mix of fear and anger in his eyes, they narrowed one last time and he spat venomously. “Good job pig.” Then a second later, he was gone.”
/10/2020 N/A N/A None chosen N/A
/10/2020 Ryder Raauhl J Ridgley “For some reason he had no doubt that whatever wss happening was about to get out of of control very quickly.”
/10/2020 Quinn Emery Kindle Cassa D “If you ding-bats aren’t going to actually help then move your fuzzy butts out of the way!”
/10/2020 Casela Synthi-er Jennifer Ward “I can tell you with utmost certainty that that thing IS William Hampton. I read him, I touched his mind.” She actually pales, the sensation was terrifying, unlike anything she’s ever encountered as a telepath.”
/10/2020 Jonathan Durheim William Deaton “Durheim nodded in satisfaction as the numbers on the PaDD started to stabilize; though he was unwilling to relax even a micron - anomalies were not to be trusted.”
/10/2020 Theodore Knox Calé Reilly “The small panel showing her vital signs amused him. Just as he imagined it would when he had seen her coming down and exited a door into the corridor silently and followed behind her. She made it to the turbo lift. Pity, he had been sure she would faint.”
/10/2020 Surda Leonora V “The knife went directly through where her head had been, and she laughed. “Risky, risky, Counselor! What if I had been drinking?”
/10/2020 Casela Synthi-er Jennifer Ward “What? I gave you the easy target. Andorian assassins are notoriously bad at hand to hand. Drunk Klingons don’t know how to go down and stay down.”
/10/2020 N/A N/A None chosen N/A
/10/2020 Casela Synthi-er Jennifer Ward “Alfred, you are computer program. I am not justifying my query to you. Just answer the question or maybe I should pull your power source out.”
/10/2020 Surda Leonora V “Fascinating. You don’t think I have enough weapons?” Seven knives, of varying shapes and sizes, two phasers, a fair selection of poisons, and a fukiya were already on her person after all. She shrugged grabbing a katana.”
/10/2020 N/A N/A None chosen N/A
/10/2020 Jonathan Durheim William Deaton “The idea of a copy of the ship, complete with (dead) crew was very interesting to him, and he wondered if he’d stumble across his own corpse, and what shape it might be in. That thought had actually been what had delayed him; it’d taken a bit longer than he had expected to gather some of the specialized tools required to rip out his deeply integrated cybernetics without causing damaged to some of the delicate circuitry. After all, it wasn’t every day one had an opportunity to acquire backups!”
/10/2020 Jessie Polizzi Ty Napier “The voice of the Captain aroused her from her fog filled brain and she shock her head from side to side dismissing the CE and his words. Pressing the comm link on the desk she answered gruffly =/\= No sir. Polizzi out =/\=”
/10/2020 William Hampton Samuel Stroud “The next thing the team would notice was the semicircle of officers standing before them, hands at their sides, standing straight, as if at attention. Their backs, however, were turned, each body facing away from the team, except for their heads. Their blood shot eyes made contact with the teams own gaze, as their heads were seemingly put on backwards. The were they eyes of fear and terror. Their mouths were gone, and simply replaced with hollow holes. Their semi circle surrounded the transporter pad, the only way to get around them was to walk in between them.”
/10/2020 N/A N/A None chosen N/A
/10/2020 Casela Synthi-er Jennifer Ward “Why didn’t they bring a whole RTF team? Oh right, there are crazy time anomalies loose on Leviathan.”
/10/2020 Surda Leonora V “Or of course, some sort of entity was manipulating them to induce psychological terror before brutally murdering them, but for now, she would stick with “transporter malfunction.”
/10/2020 Tellek Bog Charles Stevens “Turning to Captain Cobb, the short Tellarite spoke.” I believe the Gods have decided your time wallowing in self pity should come to an end, Captain, it’s time to seize your demons buy their horns and make them dance to your tune.”
/10/2020 William Hampton Samuel Stroud “I’m honestly shocked you decided to send an away team over to that ghost ship. You have everything you need on this ship.” He shrugged. “I guess people dying for no reason is a trademark for any Cobb command.”
/10/2020 Jonathan Durheim William Deaton “Silencing the alarm or turning on the lights may well alert… something to their presence, and caution was indeed good. But if anything was looking at the computer system, or sensors, or anything… well, it would be a bit of a moot point. And to be fair, every small bit of care and discretion could be well worth it - and the corpses did make for decent motivation towards that goal.”
/10/2020 Ryder Raauhl J Ridgley “Even though this appears to be our ship lets just assume every bit of it is hostile territory.” He looked to the Engineering officer, “Stick we me and between these capable ladies.”
/10/2020 Surda Leonora V “Silence was for spies and traitors, and she was operating as neither at the moment.”
/10/2020 Quinn Emery Kindle Cassa D “She just hoped that Fenir wasn’t on the loose. Canines were one thing she had a healthy respect for wanting to keep distance from. AI controlled seemed like a better idea to avoid if possible.”
