Chief Hammond let out an audible sigh, clearly having expected the question but not having an answer. “Ethically, they are all prime and we should refer to them as such. The only way to identify the original is by getting them to honestly admit which one randomly appeared in someone’s bathroom. Apparently, the anomaly that affected the good Doctor has turned her into a bit of an urban legend. According to our rumor mill, if you say her name three times in a mirror and turn out the lights when you turn them back on she’ll be standing there. It was originally some joke and the Doctor believed she was being teleported at random, the ‘prime’ Doctor moves on with her day completely unaware that something has happened. The ‘new’ Doctor, however, has the memory of randomly appearing in someone’s room in the middle of whatever she was doing. Out of survival, we believe, they stopped talking about which one was the primary. There is a good chance that the original isn’t even in this room.”

Not long after Chief Hammond’s explanation, one of the Doctors walked over with a radiation scanner. “This is how you tell.” The doctor’s voice feminine but horribly scratchy due to damage to the vocal cords. “I was saturated with Detronom Radiation in my fetal development stages, the others don’t have that radiation signature on the scan.” The Doctor offered her hand to the new Doctor, her palm being the size of an average female though her fingers are unusually long. The effects of the radiation were pretty clear, calcified growth resulting in a skeletal structure that clearly didn’t match with the growth and development of her body. This gave her body a sharply angular look with limbs far too long for normal. “Welcome Doctor Knox, I apologize for the mess we seemed to have created that pulled you away from your experiments to this high-security zoo.”

Theodore watched with interest. The voice inside purred with the potential of what he was seeing. He made a mental note of the radiation tidbit and reached out to take the hand gently in his own.

”An absolute pleasure Doctor Kastil. I am a fan of your work.” he smiled charmingly.

Dr Knox

The doctor let out an amused chuckle, “A fan of my work you say? Doctor, I am a fan of YOUR work. Your reputation precedes you more than you could imagine, you will truly be an asset to this ship.” There are some groans from the other Doctor Feys that are running around with occasional “Get a room” and “Stop stroking each other’s egos.” The Fey shaking Doctor Knox’s hand rolls her red-orange eyes, “This is why I can’t continue to be the Chief Medical Officer, turns out the saying is true, I really am my worst enemy and most devastating critic. I’m the ideal pet project for a budding psychologist, but have not yet been given authorization to set up the appointment with Lieutenant Synthi-er assuming she would even give me the time. Turns out she didn’t like her new ribs or the fact that I gave them to her. Or perhaps it’s the fact that the procedure was still experimental though averaged on success more often than failure....in Betazoids at least.”

Theo chuckled lightly as he watched. ”Well how about we both acknowledge the others work and say we are glad to have the opportunity to work together. In fact, I have some research I would love to get your input on sometime soon.” He tilted his head as inside the voice registered the comment on the ribs. “Didn’t like them you say? That seems unlikely. Perhaps we can adjourn to your office and discuss the crew in more detail. If you would consent to clear me for active duty of course.” He smiled.

Dr. Knox

Doctor Kastil nodded and gestured toward the bio scanner, “Your file was received and reviewed already, I just need you to stand there for twenty seconds while the scanners make sure you didn’t get anything on you while in transit here. I’ll go prepare us a pot of tea.” Doctor Kastil retreats to the office and allows Doctor Knox to scan himself with the large piece of equipment.

Knox stood still as directed waiting for the scanner to finish. Once completed he wandered off to the office to find her again. “So, this seems like an exciting ship so far.” He smiled as he stood in the door way, apparently waiting to be invited in.

Dr. Knox

The Doctor gestured toward the seat next to hers on the front side of the desk, sitting on the desk a pot of tea and a plate of tea cookies. “It has its moments of intensity followed by precious calm amidst the chaos of strangeness that happens from time to time. Honestly, this little party trick was the most interesting thus far.” Doctor Fey gestures toward the other Doctor Feys still working in Sickbay. “Someone decided to spread a rumor that I was akin to ‘Bloody Mary’ and some unknown anomaly found it entertaining to enact it. I’ve been popping up in random bathrooms all over the ship for the last few days. The captain didn’t mind so much, we each brought him a box of ship-shaped cookies save the one that brought him a bottle of whiskey to wash the cookies down with.” The doctor generously poured the doctor a cup of tea. “Sugar or milk with your tea?”
