As Lazol eyed the archway, he grumbled and said, “So we have an archway with a tooth and an ear. What have you found Polizzi?” Lazol barked as he took a tricorder from his waist and scanned the structure, the computer still not able to place the glyphs as he said. “Alright, fine, what do we know about this culture? Do we know anything about the society where this came from?”

Lazol, CSO

“Not a bloody thing. Sir,” Copper replied, despondently. “I don’t even know where these things came from. Only that a team was sent down to retrieve them and…well, that tooth and that ear is all that returned besides the pieces themselves.”

Lazol was unaware of who was on that team as he tapped the head band he was wearing behind his left ear where he had installed a transceiver that was programmed to the ship’s comm system. He wasn’t going to wear a starfleet badge after all and this was his work around. =/\= Medical. Send someone to cargo bay 1 immediately. And bring a tricorder =/\=

He began to move around the area, viewing the reconstructed artifact from different angles, as if one of them might offer even a sliver of an answer.
“I dunno, Sir,” the man sighed, his fleshy hand rubbing at the metal arm, as if with touch he could breath life back to it. “Have you ever seen anything like this before?”

  • NE Copper

The pieces that had been assembled correctly were portraying an image, of what, the officers could not tell yet. Some of the stones were covered in blue paint, the head of what appeared to be a dragon had been formed as well by several of the stones pieced together.

Lazol eyed the structure and tapped his foot impatiently as his mind started to loose it’s profit seeking edge and slip into a science minded outlook. “I’ve seen countless artifacts and antiquities in my dealings Cooper and most if not all cultures have a creature that looks like this but…” He trailed off as he was mentally trying to put the pieces together. “It almost looks incomplete, or that you have some in the wrong order.”

Lazol CSO

“I mean, I think they’re in the right order, Sir,” Copper shrugged, before sighing and then shifting a couple round in an attempt to improve the picture reveal. “Looks to me like a dragon, Sir. Like from the ancient myths. From what I recall, they used to breathe fire. Oh, and they liked to hoard gold too! Kind of like Feren…” he was about to add, but bit his tongue a second too late.

Cheeks burning, Copper’s eyes fixed on his tricorder as he busied himself with an attempt to obtain a chemical analysis of the blue paint covering many of the stones.

  • NE Copper

Lazol cocked his head a little as he said, “I didn’t mean to insult your capabilities Mr. Cooper I was offering my opinion. That being said it seems your tongue is rather free with your own it seems.” Lazol took out his own tricorder and started to scan the stone to find it’s specific makeup as well as particularly it’s age. He was standing next to Cooper and said, “Relax Ensign, if there is any mythological earth creature I’d like my people to be compared to it would indeed be the dragon Mr. Cooper.” Lazol said with a slight glint in his eye.

Lazol, CSO

As the wall was closer to being put together. The image was becoming clearer. The dragon was being struck by a blue lightening bolt, which went through its body. The dragon appeared to be in immense pain, maybe even dying. The bolt was extending from the right hand corner of the wall, which the team had not yet completed yet.

His current block fell into satisfying place, Copper emitting a triumphant “Ha!” before stepping back and once more studying his work.
“Well now, this changes things a little, Sir,” he mused loudly. “The dragon isn’t attacking, as I’d expect a dragon to do, but is being attacked. By something that looks like…”

His focus now fixed on Lazol, Copper’s own eyes grew wide, an expression of intense alarm contorting his face.
“…like that thing they’ve been playing with in engineering?”

=^=I am in route and will be there in forty five seconds.=^= One benefit of the accidental anomaly encounter was that there were always medical staff nearby, and with the curiosity and constant use of the party gag to see if the rumor was true, most of them were the former CMO herself. Being prepared for any eventuality, the doctor arrived with her chem-station cart. It came with a full trauma kit and a collection of potentially useful chemicals that can be mixed in a pinch for something the trauma kit may not have had, of course this also included a tricorder. True to her word, arriving forty five seconds after her communication, the eldritch horror that is Doctor Fey Kastil comes through the door into the Cargo Bay, complete with the usual sporadic power fluctuation in the lights and door she has to manually open. “Apologies for the delay, how might I be of service?”

  • Doctor Fey Kastil

Lazol got the message and said =/\= Understood =/\= as he went back to studying the archway. The words of Cooper ringing in his ears, “Cooper I do think you have this, and I’m annoyed to say this but I believe you’re right.” He said studying the figure of the dragon in pain. “My question is what does the Dragon represent? Is it literal? Allegorical?” Lazol said studying the readings he was getting that didn’t make any sense. He closed the tricorder with a slam as Doctor Fey entered the room and Lazol was taken aback for a moment, “Do....” He started before saying, “Part of the job Lazol, part of the job” before continuing, “Doctor we have parts of the away team on the arch here, can you identify what killed them and if it was the arch itself? I don’t want to have to push Cooper into the thing to find out if I don’t have to” Lazol said in a tone that didn’t rather say if he was joking or not.

Looking at the upper corner he clicked his tongue in the side of his mouth a few times before tapping his badge, =/\=Engineering. Send someone down here immediately and have them bring scans of that thing you’re working on =/\=

Lazol, CSO

At the appearance of Dr Kastil, Copper leaped behind Lazol and practically used the Ferengi as a shield, his mechanical hand taking protective hold of his remaining, flesh and blood, arm.
“Ah, yeah Doc,” he echoed the CSO’s request. “There are bits of the away team all over the arch. And I do mean all over.” He shuddered.

At the DaiMon’s request to engineering, however, Copper simply had to butt in.
“Better yet, just bring the thing itself here,” he yelled in an attempt to have his own voice heard over the commbadge, before shrugging and adding to Lazol, “Might be interesting to see what would happen if we treat it as just another piece of the puzzle?”

  • NE Copper

The Doctor pulled out a tricorder and began scanning the bodies, “I’m a doctor, not a forensic scientist. If I don’t find something notable I have a more practical means of testing your theory Daimon.” With that, she shot a glance over her pointed shoulder at NEnsign Copper. “If you will, Mister Cooper, prepare for me a reflective surface just in case I need to resort to plan B. If nothing else, it will at least entertain us for a few moments.” The doctor returned to her scans to see what she could find.

  • The doctor is probably up to something nefarious.

the body parts had thin layers of temporal energy over them. As the wall was completed it became apparent the energy beam was coming a from blue sphere that was propped up upon a pillar. Several stick men could be seen dancing around the orb as it fired.
