Surprising Surprises

Posted Dec. 5, 2020, 1:28 p.m. by Lieutenant Casela Synthi-er (Counsellor / RTF) (Jennifer Ward)

Ah another crew birthday. This one for the new CSO, DaiMon Lazol. He was a tough one to crack. Casela had not met with him again, yet. He was having trouble getting the knife she wanted delivered. Oh yes she knew all about that. She wasn’t worried. She’d obtained quite a bit of information about Mr. Lazol. He wanted to know what S31 knew about him, which wasn’t as much as she hoped, but not surprising. Lazol hadn’t done anything to really acquire the attention of the Section.

Casela had several contacts outside the ‘official’ channels. She had learned that Lazol had lost his family at a very early age. And as much as she wasn’t sure she trusted Lazol, she had a soft spot for orphans. Lazol’s father had worn a pendant that was, from what she could tell, a type of family heirloom. Or could have been. So Casela had attempted to track down the original, but had come up short. So she designed it and used a bar of latinum she had and used it along with the replicator to remake that pendent. She’d thought about asking Ryder, he was skilled, but she wanted to keep anyone out of the wrath of Lazol. So she worked on this using the computer. It was a suspension of pure latinum on a heavily braided chain made out of latinum. Lazol’s family name was scratched in Fereginar onto the pendent. She placed it in a box, and using all the skills she had managed to get it into his quarters, and leave no trace of who had left it.

She laughed to herself, ‘Good luck figuring that one out Lazol.’ There was no note, other than, ‘Happy Birthday. Welcome to Leviathan.’ What was that rule of aquasition? Once in a while declare peace, it confuses the hell out of your enemies? Or something like that.
