OOC: I’ll leave the rules at the top of the thread in case anyone else wants to join. As provided by Surda/Leonora:

“Our first game has three parts. Number one, it is a teamwork game. Everyone has been placed with a partner, which you will find on that board.” Ant the wave of her hand, a board materialized. “However each partner team is also a part of either the red team or the blue team. You will have a small light that symbolizes which.” A pile of light-up pins appeared below the board. “Number two, it is a shooting game. There are no live rounds, and no weapons other than the guns I hand out are allowed. You can keep them on you, but don’t use them.” And now for her favorite part. “Number three, there is a point system. You do not have to last the longest to win. Lasting till the end gives you 200 points. Each successful shot is 30 points. Using an illicit weapon loses you 100 points, losing your partner loses you 50. Shooting someone on the same team as you loses you 60 points. There are bonuses, but I won’t tell you what they are. I will say some people are worth more points than others.”
The board was as follows: (As decided by a wheel)

  • Casela Synthi-er and Saler (Security NE)
  • Quinn Kindle and Juliet Anders (Neither are officially here, but I'm godfathering them in. They can take it up if they want.)
  • Surda and Zachariah Cobb
  • Irida Kovacenkov and Kit Larding (Also a security NE)

-The Board of Doom™

The lights went out plunging the room into darkness. Surda took the opportunity to pull on Cobb’s sleeve, moving away from the main group and behind a small structure. “People are going to target us. Not everyone, some will have strategized to make up for losing the higher-profile points. Some people on our own team might even go for us if they think our value will make up for the point loss.”
-Surda, CoS

“Aye, figures,” Cobb murmured in reply. “I’ve grown accustomed to being the underdog my entire life, Miss Surda. And don’t let the pips tell you any different.”
With a nod, Zachariah activated the weapon, drawing a sense of calm from his battle-ready stance, then crouched low and shifted into a vantage point from where he could catch glimpses of the other combatants as they made their own preparations.

The badges began to light up, starting with the people closest to the board. Casela and Saler lit up red, Surda and Cobb following them onto the red team. Irida and Kit were blue. At the same time, the board changed so that it was illuminated. Everyone’s name had “active” written to the right and 000,000 to the left.

Ensign Luna had only just arrived late as she had only just gotten on board and had not been told about this even until 10 minutes ago. Little Cerenity was right behind her. “Cerenity stay to the sides of the field and out of the way,” she said to the child who hovered out of the way she looked at the board wondering who her partner would be and what kind of training this was. Cerenity whined something about wanting to play too but did as she was told. The child landed quietly on the ground near the edge of the room.

“Halt,” came a call from across the room and seconds later, his hands raised in temporary submission, the captain emerged from his hiding place and strode towards the newcomers.
“Ensign Luna, thank you for joining us,” he greeted the Leviathan’s newest security officer. “The game has not yet begun and I am sure that Lt Surda will be able to find a place for you on one of the teams. However,” he glanced down at Cerenity, “I’m afraid this is far too dangerous an event for a child to attend, particularly when her own mother is one of the combatants.”

” my apologies captain show one took apart the hole meters in are quarter and I have not had the chance to look into finding someone to watch her. I figured she would be fine at a training exercise she has watch them before on the Viking” she said apologetically her face tuning red in embarrassment.

Sensing that Luna and Cerenity both were still learning who to trust on the Leviathan, Zachariah decided to summon an old friend. Moments later and a familiar half-Klingon stepped into the room and made a beeline for the child.
“Cerenity,” she called out, one hand extended to the girl. “Are you aware that the Leviathan serves the best strawberry ice cream in the entire quadrant? What say you and I go and try some while the adults enjoy their little game.”

  • Captain Zachariah Cobb
  • Kara Nakuto

Cerenity was currently gazing down at a small Rigelian Flamegem in her hands something she had gotten from Lazol. ” the fire went....” she trailed off as she looked up and saw Kara. Luna caught her breath going rigid and turing pail like she had seen a ghost. She had not yet been able to see of Kara was actually here like the Casela had told her earlier. ” Capten Kara” cerenity yelled. Luna took a deep breath when cerenity practically tackled Kara. ” Kara can you tell Lazol that I got the fire in the this to come out” she said holding the stone out to her as they left.

The half-Klingon offered a quick nod of acknowledgement to her former security officer, Luna, before scooping Cerenity up into her arms and hugging her tightly.
“It is so good to see you both again,” she roared with delight at the little girl. “And what a pretty gem you have. Let us get ice cream and then you can show me how to summon the fire.”
And with that, she placed the child back onto the ground and, her hand wrapped around Cerenity’s own, led her out of the holodeck.

  • Kara Nakuto (Consultant Researcher)

” Thank you Captain” she said smiling at him. She. Quickly found her partner and took took her place for the game. She was going to get into so much trouble for this later.
Ensign Luna

Casela had been ducking around with Saler trying to get a good vantage point when she saw the light from the door when it opened. She got a look at Luna and then the small figure beside and and stepped out ready to call halt when the captain beat her to it. She ducked back, no need to say anything. Zachariah would deal with it and they could get back to training. Good thing for his sharp eyes. That could have ended VERY badly. Kara obviously knew Cerenity though and seemed happy to see the little girl. Cas smiled and slunk away before anyone saw where she and Saler were.

Irida and Kit had ducked behind a barrier at the far side. When the lights came up she tugged Kit further behind the barrier. No need to give themselves away. She whispered, “Good thing Cobb caught that. Lt Synthi-er would loose her ever lovin’ mind if she caught a child in the middle of a training simulation.” She kept her voice low not wanting to give away their location.

“I think if Lieutenant Surda didn’t say anything the kid would have been fine. She’s not big on hurting kids either.” Kit was whispering, but her trust in her DH was clear.

Casela and Irida

Surda looked at Cobb and shrugged. “She’d have been fine.” The lights went back down, and she began walking away from the center quickly. “I have lookout spots around the walls, and there’s an aboveground obstacle course. I figure we can either sit up there and shoot at people or just hide and let them come to us.”
-Surda, CoS
