Eventually everyone ended up in the lounge. Either here in Jörmungandr lounge on deck 8 or Ophion Lounge and Bar on deck 30. Jörmungandr was supposed to be the officer’s lounge but everyone came here, and all were welcome. For Casela and her many roles on board this was a great place to keep tabs on the pulse of the ship. It was also a great place to relax with her RTF team, mingle with crew she didn’t see often so that when needed they felt more comfortable with her and her staff. And of course tonight it let her see how their large influx of new officers and crew were settling in. Casela made her way to the bar, greeting and speaking to several that she knew, but avoiding staying too long. She collected her water with lime and sat down at a table to watch the fish tank and the room.

Cerenity had woken up from a nightmare she did not want to wake up her mom because she was not a baby even though Luna still had her sleeping in a crib like a baby she had out grown that stupid bed when she was six months old. She tried to go back to sleep but found that impossible. She was to afraid.
She headed out of her room to find luner watching her. ” want to come with me to see the fish” she asked. The bird left off his porch and followed the girl. Soon the pair entered the Jörmungandr Lounge. The barn owl found a place up high to watch over the child. Cerenity walk the up to the fish tank. It was an adorable sight she was still in her light purple nightgown bare foot and has a blanket drawing behind her. She very much looked like a typical three year old. She sat on the the floor in front of the fish tank and looked up at it watching the fish.

It was a good thing for the newest security ensign that Casela was in the lounge at the moment. At the appearance of a young child, followed by an avian companion, the entirety of every RTF member in the room went instantly on alert. Their reaction, Casela knew, was two fold. First they concerned for the safety of a child on board Leviathan AND wandering alone, with a bird of prey. The second, well Casela couldn’t blame them, over half the anomalies they had encountered so far had taken the form of a child or purposely targeted children. But with a silent command from Casela they stayed where they were. It was as Casela told Luna. The whole crew would protect Cerenity, once they knew she was supposed to be on board. Which Casela still did not agree with. She waited, seemingly patient, for Luna to arrive. She was quite disappointed when the ensign did not appear.

Surda walked into the lounge silently, settling at the same table as Casela with a sigh. The ship had no real day or night, but there was certainly a more relaxed tone at certain times of the day. She spared a moment to look at the small girl, determined she was safe enough without supervision and turned away. She tilted her head towards the door in a silent question, making sure she wasn’t intruding.

Casela nodded and raised her glass silently at Surda. Casela was thinking dark thoughts and they weren’t pleasent for anyone to hear. She sat in her chair watching those around the lounge, contemplating information she had recently gained, decisions she had made, actions that must be taken, and rumors that had reached her desk. And add to that whether or not certain crew members were actually fit for duty on Leviathan. Brass was sending people left and right without regards to whether those people should serve here or not. And it was now her job to deal with it. She sneered silently in disgust.

The captain was next into the room and surprised to find it populated. Following the tragedy with Ullr, it had begun to feel as if the crew were avoiding the place, although Cobb had maintained his own, solitary routine - a nightcap and some fish watching before bed.
Acquiring his drink, he nodded to the two women then made a beeline for the aquarium, stopping short for a moment to see it already occupied.

“Ah,” he called out, moving closer and settling into his favourite seat, “you must be Cerenity. I’m Zachariah. Do you like my fish?”

  • Captain Zachariah Cobb

Luner was quick to respond leaping from his pirch to fly around the capers head and glare at him as if worning him not to harm Cerenity. The he returned to his porch high up away from the rest of the crew he could be friendly but not when there were other people around.

Cobb frowned as the bird made a lunge for his head, followed by a slight exhale as it took to the rafters and away from him.
“You might need to keep your pet on a leash when in public, little miss,” he nodded upwards. “I would not want it mistaken for an anomaly.”

Cerenity giggled ” Luner he is mommy’s pet and you can’t leash him he’s dose what he wants for the most part he only listens to me once in a while when mommy is not around. Mommy
is really the only one who can actually control him think he was just saying hi” cerenity said. She looked up at the bird. ” he was insistint on coming with me” cerenity added.

“Your mommy’s pet?” Cobb echoed. “Okay then, I shall have to discuss with her the dangers of unfamiliar, unrestrained animals around exhausted and traumatised anomaly hunters.”
He gave Cerenity a smile. “That is not for you to worry about though, little one.”

” No mommy will be mad he’s not sapose to leave are quarters with out mommy. I let him out because he was going to wake up mommy. I don’t want her to worry about my stupid nightmares” cerenity said.

Cerenity turned and looked at the captain. ” I did not tell you my name do you know my mommy. ” she said confused. She stud up and walked towards him. ” yes I like the colors on them. Sometimes I wish my fethers could be colored like them. That and they seem so picefull they don’t have to worry about shadow monsters or nightmares or wonder why they are different” she said. She took a few steps closer. As she tried to pull her blanket around her only to get it caught on her wings ,get frustrated and give up.
Cerenity

Zachariah smiled, then with a grunt got to his feet, retrieved the child’s blanket and gently draped it over her shoulders.
“I do indeed know your mom,” he nodded, returning to his own seat and supping at his drink. “Does she know that you’re out of bed at such a late hour?”

” no, she has to work early tomorrow i had a bad dream and did not wake her. Because I’m not a baby I don’t need here help and can take care of myself.” She said. Her blanket curled around her thanks to the capten shee walked right up to him now looking up at him. ” daddy had hair on his face though his was linger and he branded it” she added.

His attention was caught by the fish, a pink and yellow flower horn floating right to the edge of the glass and seemingly watching the curious child.
“I think she likes you,” he chuckled at the fish. Then, turning his eyes back to Cerenity, his mirth dissipated as he asked, “Shadow monsters? You’re talking about the Viking?”

” she is cute what is her name” she asked. Cerenity said from her spot standing next to the Captain. ” yes I was born on the Viking” she said.

“Well now, I don’t know,” Zachariah responded. “Why don’t you give her a name.”

” Angel?” Cerenity asked as if she had already known what she was going to say.

The doors slid aside and the outline of another person was visible. Pausing in the doorway, the figure seemed to survey the room ominously as if searching for something. Conversation from some tables faltered as they noticed the figure, and more conversation halted when the figure of Gruv Skallig stepped forward into the light.

Of course, now that he was in a more relaxed setting, gruv had dressed down. Gone were the boots and simply floral scuffs now adorned his Tellarite toes. simple breathable fabric of slacks and a half open necked shirt revealed a gold chain and chest hair, while his beard was neatly buffed. Combover reapplied sprouting from tufts of hair on each side his his balding head, his steps were confident and fabulous as the lime green feather boa around his neck served all at once to lend some modesty to the chest hair and allow a comfortable neck rest. Spotting Cobb and the odd winged kid Gruv paused a moment, the image of the winged person moving memories of a different time and place but of course this one must have gone through a shrinking machine or been reassembled wrong in a transporter. Nobody would let a child roam around on a starship like this after all.

” iv seen him on the Viking Cerenity” cerenity said to the caped when she saw Gruv. Luner was also interested in the newcomer.

Cobb caught the gaze from the Tellarite and responded with a nod of his own. Presumably the man was en-route to some gaudy, baroque holodeck gathering, his clothing seemingly far too ostentatious for the Leviathan’s humble lounge.
“‘Evening, Mr Gruv,” he called out. “Quite the effort you seem to have made there. I trust Mr Bog will be along shortly?”

With a shrug, he carried on, and spotted his two new friends in Cas and Surda at a nearby table. With a friendly wave and a *Hey Lasses! Fancy seeing ye here! What’s good tae drink?!” Moving straight to the table Gruv sat down, then paused again and this time he looked directly at the lights in the room, as if searching or waiting for something.

Gruv Skallig

Ah! The entertainment had arrived. The sight of Gruv made Casela smirk slightly. Casela, thankful for the distraction and amused at the reactions of the rest of those in the lounge stood and waved Gruv to follow her. “Now Mr Gruv when you first appeared on board I thought you had a wonderful sense of style, but I see I was mistaken. Though the feather’s of your boa are beautiful, they are synthetic and create an unkempt look,” she gestured to the feather ‘dust’ scattered across his clothing like random cat hair. “Real Joranian ostrich feathers would be so much better.”

She moved behind the bar and began to place bottle after bottle of fine and hard to get alcohol. “Compliments of the captain. He keeps us well stocked. And if there is anything that you want and it is not here, let us know. We have ways of getting it. The captain and commander are fully of the opinion the real stuff is better for us than the frustration of synthehol.” She placed a decent sized tumbler on the bar next to the bottles. Despite the fact she tentatively liked Gruv, she had a feeling that usually his companion was not far behind, and though her body language would not give it away, she was waiting for the man to appear. She would be pulling his file and confirming his story later. But for the moment she was here and observing.

Zachariah remained silent as he watched the counselor rummage through his collection of prized liquors. He just hoped the Tellarite’s palate was more refined than his dress sense or it would all be for naught.

Casela leaned forward, forearms crossed casually against the bar while Gruv made his selection. “Have you settled in, Mr Gruv? Is there anything that you need?” It was an honest question, part of her duties to make sure those who came on board adjusted well. It was so out of her nature, but duty was duty, as she had been reminded often enough. She walked back to their table, nodding to a couple of her team who were watching, like her, the scene unfold in the middle of the room. All Casela really wanted to do at the moment was go kill things. The whole thing bothered her, for many reasons. It might even go unnoticed by others but she saw several RTF members shake their heads in disbelief and disappointment, some in disgust, and get up and leave the lounge more because they remembered Ullr and didn’t have the stomach to watch someone so innocent get hurt. She picked up her glass, water with lime, and despite wanting to down it like it was hard liquer she sipped it slowly. A dangerous glint flashing across her eyes momentarily as she seemingly stared at nothing.

Luner left from his pirch and landed in the table infront of Grov. The bird turned his head upside-down looking at him befor turning his head right-side up as said ” who”. If anyone were crazy enough to try an touch him he would hisses at them and fly off likely landed near Cob and Cerenity.
Cerenity

Cobb cleared his throat and continued to observe the bird from over the rim of his drink. Either Gruv would adopt it as a pet or turn it into a new, high-fashion garment…

Casela caught Cobb’s eye and smirked wickedly having ‘heard’ his thought. If the bird was lucky she wouldn’t go after it and make dinner out of it and give Gruv the feathers. That was in jest though.

The RTF teams though were having a hard time not containing the bird. They were shifting their positions around the room, quietly, softly, with no sound, just the way Casela had taught them. They made no move to approach the bird, hurt it, or scare it in anyway. However, it had now dived at TWO officers in the room and by their standards a 3rd strike meant the bird would be taken OUT.

Cerenity noticed the change in the room. ” Luner” she said panicked. The bird looked from Gruv to cerenity. She looked at the captain grabbing his hand. ” Pleaes don’t let them hurt Luner I love him, Mommy will be upset and its all my fault. Captain please. Luner is the only one who understands mommy and I.... it’s my fault its my fault. ” Cerenity burst into tears.
