There was a planet, not so long time discovered, where tales of Task Force 5 crew were being told, by awesome and extraordinary adventures to little relax heavens holidays treks. And so, as the ARU was advised of such Minshara Class planet, not found in any of the star charts available, and its beautiful charm, the high council decided it was time to spend some effort to relieve the crews’ back pains and the long shift periods with a newly constructed resort, as per mandate it was not possible to go on holidays planets like Risa for their job’s dangerous nature.

The planet had a soft light blue hue, as seen from orbit, and two moons, Reshdar and Casktil, were the angels of the multicolored rock, which was nontheless tinier than Earth and bigger than Mars. From the far distance of a shuttle window, you could see on the north pole that there was this cold and blizardy weather landscape. TF-5 said that the north pole was amazing for skiing and all snowy sports, and indeed, for the lovers of such practices, ARU furnished some well suited installation that guaranteed many snow ball fights and speedy races through the pure white cold pudding. Yes pudding, because it was not only snow, but a really, really soft one that could still be compacted but was amazing for those who loved a comfortable bed at a really cheap price.
The north pole was divided in three regions: on the farthest sector from the L1 point, a mounty chain was there to hold guarded the perimeter of the sacred white land. Sector two, the adjacent one on the left, could be instead defined as a large plain with short hills scattered throughout the territory. Last but not least, the main facilities were put in the last sector, with a more temperate climate and steep natural ramps for the craziest who loves to risk their own bones.

But while the snow is elegant and trembling, for those who love some more warm environment, and the sea, there’s also a heaven for them in proximity of the equator. It is indeed to be imagined that the planet was shaped to have two main continents and many large and mid sized islands. One was layed mostly around the equatorial line, occupying some 15% of the whole planet surface, and the other connecting the north pole to the south and had more variety for the third kind of travelers.
Each continents had their pros and cons. The warmest one had also a little desert, not too large, but that allowed sand races competitions and tanning for the crew who loved such colored tail or chest. All around the desert, little paradises were still to be seen and perhaps each of those one had a couple hammocks and a restoration area to drink and refresh with all sort of beverages. Talking about beverages, there was a forest known by TF-5 to produce some sweet fruit with alcoholic properties. The forest with a purple and yellow tint was famous to be a temperate place, and many gorgeous waterfalls created a unique environment for the fauna living there. Each waterfall would have perhaps a little lake with light green colors and pristine water. The largest one was chosen to be the main hub of all the resorts scattered on the planet and included a sizeable Spa complex and also temporary cabins for the crew that stayed on ground for the time being. The lake, that was called from the first ARU personnels visiting “The Emerald Blade Lake” (as it resembled a blade with a greenish texture), had nontheless a cold but refreshing temperature and had on the northest peak a series of natural thermal pools. The mineral rich waters of such natural jacuzzi could benefit each one skin and health in general.
If someone wanted the beach, some of the islands had also some wooden hut and wooden boats to enjoy the salty blue pearl.

And how about Dave? he could not be missed. Remember the other continent? well, it was mostly adhibited to his own amusement park so that he could be left on the planet without the fear of a containment breach and risky and edgy situations.
What was left free of the land was assigned for the administration buildings and functioned as a forward outpost for the high admiralty of the ARU fleet.

Catia VI, this is the name of the planet, had no violent weather whatsover. No tempest (just light rain), not a single earthquake, eruptions or tornados. These particularities had raised many questions, and deep deep in the scientists hearts the planet was also an experimentation site. No mean of transportation with the transporter was viable, as a natural jamming signal was emitted by the planet, almost like it was an alive element itself. The only way to get down was a shuttle. All ships requesting a holiday there would park their cars behind the second moon and then make groups of 8/9 shuttles depart at a time from their hangar bays. And so, as it was the Leviathan’s turn they parked where the ships before it layed ground. Some hours after the first docking to the structure that was built there, the first shuttles raised the flag and departed for their journey.

Onboard the maiden one, Manhattan resumed the whole description in his head, as from a porthole he saw the beauty of the planet from a comfy chair. He felt like a child on a school trip, but it was not a school trip, it was his holiday with the whole crew of the Levi “Are you ready?” he smirked back to his companions. After the horrors lived aboard the ship, it was time to get a good tequila and do some snowmen for fun.

Cerenity apper infront of him as for how who know maby she crowled under the seats or flew it did not really mater she was out of her seat and away from her mother. Who had likely fell asleep the child had not given oun a moments rest since she heard about getting to go to a planit. ” were going to a plant iv never actually been to a plant. Are they as amazing as they sound” the three year old said. She held her amres up as if asking him to pick her up.

Before Leviathan joined the rest of the ships parked behind the moon, the Black Devils had a job to do. They were beamed down to the containment sector of Dave’s private amusement park. They were finally going to drop Dave off and be rid of him. And the counselor in Casela was very glad to be rid of him and maybe put a stop to the craziness that was the Cult of Dave that had formed on board after he’d breached containment. She wished the ARU/RTF teams assigned to the containment areas of this little paradise of a planet, the best of luck.

The Hyperios Hydras, the alpha shift squad was on board and monitoring the transfer from their end. =^=Hyperios Hydras Regent to ARU Transporter Room 1. We are ready here. As soon as you have the coordinates and are ready we’ll drop the force field.=^= The Regent turned to the rest of the team, “Mark VIIs set to light spectrum specifications and on. I don’t want another breach on my watch. Let’s get him out of here and good riddance.”

=^=Transporter room 1 here. I have coordinates and ready. ARU transporter room 1 to Operative Synthi-er. We are ready to transport. In 3…2…1=^=

Casela sighed, of course they wouldn’t wait for acknowledgement. She nodded to Luhiw and she heard the buzz of Mark VIIs powering up to make sure Dave didn’t make the mistake of trying to breach the containment walls. =^=Acknowledged Leviathan. Let’s get him off our ship.=^= Hyperios Hydras’s regent dropped the forcefield on the containment deck and Dave, sensing a drop in the static turned with hungry eyes towards the doors, only to be engulfed immediately in the blue swirling beam of the transporter and to reappear somewhere totally new. His momentary disorientation was all the Black Devils needed to get the force field in place on the planet. Dave, confused, angry, and sullen from missing an opportunity to escape, again, raged against the walls of his new home. =^=We’ve got him Leviathan and he’s secure.=^=

Casela walked over to the ARU personnel. “He’s all yours. Might want to let him calm down before you let him out to play.”

=^=Synthi-er to Manhattan. Dave has been successfully transferred.=^= She turned to look at the rest of the team. “You’ve earned some much deserved and needed downtime. Let’s find a transport off this island to somewhere more…festive.”
Lt. Synthi-er, RTF

The captain had gone ahead of the others, having a few preparations to make for their landing. His endeavours were interrupted, briefly, by the chirp of his commbadge and the news that Dave had been delivered without incident, a report that brought him a great deal of relief. After thanking the ground team and promising them several rounds on him for their trouble, Zachariah returned to his own mission - the setting up of a grand and glorious, tropical-themed, holiday celebration!

He had insisted on the tree, on that there would be no compromise. Standing fifteen feet tall in the centre of the beach, the deep green Norway spruce was festooned on every branch with glittering lights and coloured baubles of every shade on the spectrum, crowned at its peak with a large, glowing star. And above that, a surprise from the engineering department - the trees very own snowcloud (created using knowledge gained from the study of the anomaly, Ullr, although this one was thankfully lacking the troublesome nitrogen component)!

Beneath the tree, at least five layers deep, was a mountainous ring of brightly-wrapped parcels. One for every Leviathan crewmember. Plus a handful each for Cerenity and Gen. Plus a large stocking for each girl, stuffed with fruit and nuts and a small, stuffed animal at the top.

But moving out and beyond this winter scene, things became a little less traditional, for a man like Zachariah Cobb, at any rate. For the rest of the beach, the weather was positively balmy, the blazing suns glittering off perfect white sand and highlighting the cerulean and white-tipped waves. Several tables had been placed around the beach, each one laden with all manner of sweet and savoury foodstuffs and, off to the left, beneath a huge, shady palm, was a fully-stocked tiki-themed bar.

And in the centre of all of this was Zachariah Cobb, a red Santa hat on top of his head, paired with a garish Hawaiian shirt and green cargo shorts and bare and sand-covered feet. He was currently slurping a blue-tinged drink from a large, hollowed coconut, his eyes raised upwards as he watched the shuttles approach…

Synthi-er walked up to Cobb and nodded approvingly. “A little gem they’ve created here for us. And a party I am sure everyone will enjoy.” Synthi-er didn’t miss the gifts for the two resident children. She had strong opinions about the subject, but in this case it seemed her opinion wasn’t asked for. She was glad however that Cobb had embraced the spirit of the season and taken the time to recognize the youngest of those living on board. “The crew will enjoy it. And you should too, Captain.” And with that Synthi-er wandered off to await the shuttle. She’d volunteered for ship duty during the party so that others could stay longer. Leviathan required more than just a skeleton crew, she also required security/rtf to remain on board for the containment decks. Dave was gone but there were still anomalies that hadn’t or wouldn’t be removed here, but had to be taken back to the starbase. So rather than having some draw the short stick, she’d taken the duty. After those arriving had disembarked, she boarded the shuttle and returned to Leviathan.

Cobb supped at his drink as he watched Synthi-er retreat. He had hoped that, as the ship’s counselor, she would have stayed for a little of the celebration at least. But he could not blame her for choosing the familiar sanctuary of duty instead. In fact, a small part of him envied her ability to walk away, to maintain her hard fought for solitude.

It was an option denied to Zachariah Cobb. As the captain, his duty was to remain for the entirety of the event. Although the rules made no mention of his sensibilities maintaining a similarly extended presence. To that end, he drained his glass and then wandered slowly back to the bar, the sand warm and teasing between his toes, to procure a second drink…

Surda was waiting behind the bar, wearing a swimsuit designed to maximize her skin exposure, but of course, abiding by off duty clothing regulations. She didn’t get this amount of sunlight every day, and she planned to take full advantage of it. She placed a wrapped bottle on the counter and smiled. “I hear that gifts are encouraged. I’d have to encourage you not to share this with anyone.” It was a bottle of tihaar a very popular Orion beverage; one made all the more popular by its rarity. Tihaar was illegal to sell, buy, or trade, so receiving it as a gift was the only legal way to obtain it. Unless you happened to work as a spy and purchased 9 cases in the name of “good relations” then immediately had no idea what to do with it all. Which of course, Surda would never do. She only had 2 cases she didn’t know what to do with, the other 7 having gone to the Federation’s diplomatic branch.
-Surda, CoS

Cobb raised an eyebrow, impressed both with the Orion herself and also with the offered drink.
“I have a feeling the acquisition of such a prized gift would be quite the tale to be told,” he grinned as he studied the bottle. “But we have a saying where I come from. Never look a gift horse in the mouth. And with that, I shall let this fine beverage do the talking for itself.”
He raised the bottle towards her and then drank of it deeply, eyes closed as he savoured both the feel and the flavour of it.
“Ahhh,” he finally came up for air. “Miss Surda, that hit the spot and no mistake. Thank you.”

Glancing over towards the Christmas tree, Zachariah had been intending to visually locate the Security Chief’s own gift and point it out for her. But the sight of Jessie Polizzi being dragged across the sands by two pissed off looking security guards caught him short.
“Ah, just give me a moment…” he muttered, hurrying over towards the tree. A second later and he had returned, his hand reaching out for the tihaar before taking himself, and it, back to the tree again…

Casela knew that Cobb was disappointed that she wasn’t staying. That he felt slightly trapped in having to make an appearance, but that’s why he was a captain and she was not. That’s why she was the hot-headed loner, with no respect for rank or position, and why she had neither. She stepped off the shuttle and into the bay while the next group of crew boarded the shuttles for their much needed vacation. She made her way to the bridge to start her first shift. McReady had been assigned to stay this shift at the helm. Casela was a fair pilot and was able to take his place. She slid into the seat and grinned as McReady ran for the turbolift. Casela wasn’t a command officer, and she wasn’t technically enough of a bridge officer to take command if need be. Something she’d been contemplating during her long hours of bridge duty to be available to advise the command staff. She went through her checks for the station and then, pulled out a PaDD to cover her paper work and made idle chit chat with the officers on duty. After this shift she would report to sickbay to take the place of the nurse on duty. Things in her life had changed drastically since they had returned from Delotha, and though a party seemed wonderful, Casela felt the need to be here, on this ship, that if things went south, it would be a long time before seeing again.
Lt. Synthi-er, CNS

Lazol had been invited to the party and had hoped to attend, if anything to show his talents as a gracious guest but alas his scientific duties truly did have the better of him. He was standing with the crew overseeing the last of the anomalies being transfered when he tapped his badge and said, “Lazol to Lieutenant Synthi-er, I hate to interrupt your vacation but I do need you to assume your new duties with me. If you would be so kind to join me when I return to the science labs in 30 minutes I would appreciate it.” He sounded demanding but not rude, it was a change for the Ferengi, and perhaps it was the holiday spirit finally getting to him. Lazol had a few ideas he needed to work out with her, ahem, experience.

Lazol, CSO

=^=I can be there in an hour. I have a duty shift that I must finish first.=^= She’d promised to take this nursing shift for NL Saunders. Though she knew Lazol had requested her and Fenrir for RTF duties when he worked with anomalies she still had this to finish first. So an hour later she appeared in the science labs, Fenrir with her, and scanned her RTF access badge. Lazol had put her on the duty shift so the doors opened, recognizing her bio signature and her access card. She stepped carefully down the center corridor and then pressed the chime to his office. Once the door opened she stepped in, Fenrir following and finding a place to sit out of the way. “What can I help you with DaiMon?” As per their agreement it, anything work related would be kept strictly professional and slightly irritated. As far as anyone was concerned this addition to her duties was an annoyance and a waste of her talents. In reality she was curious to know what he was up to.
Lt Synthi-er, RTF

Cold artic winds broke through the top layers of skin ripping small shredding cuts across the bridge of her nose and cheeks. Faster and faster the snow covered ground passed beneath Jessie as her speed increased, narrowing the gap between her and prey. Letting go of one handle of the mechanical beast, she raised the bat’leth high above her head and swung with every ounce of strength of Klingon warrior blood ancestors had leant her DNA. Momentum of weight, speed and force combined  with three too many bottle of blood wine threw the quarter Klingon woman ass over handle bars as she fly through the wintery wonderlands like a snow owl taken to flight. With a finally “umph”, the warrior came to rest with shoulders and head half buried in a mound of icy cold powder. Moments later, just as her eyes lost drunken focus, heavy dark boots stopped next to her closing eyes. Jessie felt the tug of her legs being drug across the snow just as she lost consciousness.
.......................................................................

Hot sun beat down reflecting off the sand was only slightly cooled by the breeze of the oceans water that set the backdrop for the tropical Christmas scene selected by the Levi’s captain. From behind the brightly lit tree, three figures emerged. Two of the figures were dressed entirely in black from head to toe, faces shielded by helmets. Both were tall and appeared as though they spent a great deal of time lifting weights in a gym. Slung over their shoulders were long phaser rifles that matched the utility belts darned with more equipment. Wedged between the darkened figures, Crewman Jessie Polizzi had an arm draped crossed each of their shoulders. Her footprints left a long trail in the sand behind her from where her feet had been dragged along. Stopping in front of the tree, the two looked and each other, nodded and dropped the Crewman unceremoniously. Jessie hit the ground with another “umph” and opened one eye.

“Guess this belongs to you, Captain? Charges won’t be filed. This time. Make sure it doesn’t happen again,” one of the figures said as they handed Jessie’s Bat’leth to him. Without another word the two left the way they had entered.

“I…well…” Cobb stammered, taking hold of the bat’leth as if it were a live rattlesnake. “My apologies for…” he glanced down at the quarter-Klingon, “…well, I suspect to be spared the details would be a blessing. So…my apologies. For all of it.”

Jessie just managed to open both her eyes and prop her large frame up on one elbow. Long dark cane rows hung in multiple directions, some had come undone. Taking one look at the scantly clothed female Orion, Jessie gave a low appreciative growl and fell straight back into the bottom of the Christmas tree and stacks of presents. Mouth wide open, the quarter Klingon snored loudly. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Crewman Jessie Polizzi, Science

Cobb allowed himself a moment to enjoy a much-needed gulp of the tihaar. Then tentatively, he reached out a foot and jabbed it into Polizzi’s side.
“Am I to take you for my Christmas turkey, Crewman Polizzi?” he muttered down at the snoring figure.

After the shuttle landed Luna and cerenity Joined the party. Cerenity flew ahead and headed right for the bar where the captain and Surda. ” Hi this place is beautiful” Cerenity said happly. She was wherein a smile dark purple dress. Luna was close behind her she was in a simple dark blue dress. ” Hi capten, Lutanat” Luna said she looked around. Every fiber of her was telling her to fly get into the air. She was a bit preoccupied fighting that instinct.
Ensign Luna

Moving quickly away from the still sleeping quarter-Klingon, Cobb returned to the bar, allowing a wide grin to spread across his face at the sight of Luna and Cerenity. It was good to see the pair of them venturing away from the ship and to somewhere more enjoyable.

“Hello Cerenity,” he lowered to his knees to match the young girl’s height. “I am glad you like it here. This beach is a safe place,” he glanced over at Luna. “You can have fun here. Both of you.”

  • Captain Zachariah Cobb

” hanging out on the ground is not exactly fun” Luna said with a smile. Cerenity smiled at the captain and hugged him. ” really” she asked her eyes lighting up. Half of her wanting to take off but was more interested in something else. ” mommy you should fly for them show them all the co stuff you can do” she looked back at the captain. ” you all should realy see it mommy is awesome she do baril rules and crazy bites and loops and stuff its awesome. She won’t teach me how to do it though she says I’m to little.” Cerenity said excitedly.

” i would rather not and you are to little and have yet to totally grasp the basics of flying” Luna said.
Ensign Luna

Zachariah glanced from Cerenity to Luna and then back to the girl. “I am sure your mommy just doesn’t want to see you get hurt, little Miss,” he replied, “although the sand here might allow for an easier landing. Or perhaps even the water. Can you swim, Cerenity?”

” Yah I can sim can you” cerenity asked totally dropping the early conversion. Luna spoke up ” she has not problem taking off or landing she lacks focus when flying its important to watch everything that is going on around you. Its also important to keep a level head and not panic when things go wrong. ” Luna said.

” falling out of the sky is scary” cerenity said

Then, rising once more to his feet, he moved closer to Luna, ensuring that Cerenity remained also at his side.
“You know, the crew have been fully briefed on your abilities, Miss Luna. There will be no alarm taken at the sight of you stretching your wings a little. Or your daughters.”

  • Captain Zachariah Cobb

” True but I prefer to not attract attention” she said with a smile. She did not like fealing like she was a freak. People staring at her was not her idea of fun ether. Cerenity giggled ” people only stare because its cool and they wish they could fly” cerenity said.
