Raauhl lowered his head and his tone, “I wish I could tell you Cerenity but that is down to your mother. If you really want to know ask her or if you’d like I could speak to her it may be more convincing coming from another adult.” He offered, Raauhl understood why Luna might want to tell Cerentiy but also he though that the young girl sat in front of him was mature and smart enough to know, at least some parts of the truth.

Cerenity giggled ” you don’t know my mommy very well. She avoids those questions not to mention no one can change mommys mind once she has made it up its frustrating. So how would I say hi to you in Trill” she asked. She focused back on the XO and wanting to learn about trill. She was definitely esaly distracted as well.
Cerenity

Deciding, for now, to move on the conversation he smiled, “Computer disables the use of the universal Translator.” He cleared his throat, he didn’t get to often try his Trill but was excited to try it now. “Iituja ro motux shi zhian kalasham tanula ranupakala majashsh.” He pronounced the worlds, rolling them around his mouth as he spoke. It was almost like a poem than an actual language. He smiled and motioned for her to try, even just making it sound similar would satisfy him.

Cerenity cocked her head to one side then the other Liaoning. ” Can you say that a little slower” she asked. She was unwilling to repeat the sentence just yet she needed to hear it again.

He chuckled, “Ofcourse.” “Iituja - ro - motux - shi - zhian - kalasham - tanula - ranupakala - majashsh.” Raauhl said the words slowly, leaving a gap between each pronunciation so that she could hear them as they rolled of his tongue. He knew she was young but studies showed children who were subject to multiple languages at a young age often found them easier to learn than adults.

After Raauhl repeated the sentence she coppyed him. It was not perfect but understand able at least. ” that really long for hi? What all dose it translate to” she asked.

“Thats was good, we dont really have a direct translation to just ‘hello’ but I think in Human language it means ‘We welcome you home’ Home being your family and friends and not just a set location like a house.” He hoped his explanation satisfied her curiously.

Cerenity smiled ” Home is not a place” she asked cerously. She was finding the restrictions of the Leviathan frustrating. She was use to the Freedom she had on the Viking. ” Because I still consider the Viking home, I know evey one there and could go where ever I wanted to. Even if the shadows were there tormenting me” she admitted. She shook her head and looked back at Raauhl. ” You said Trill was only really used in rituals what kind of rituals do trill practice” She asked.

“Well the joining ceremony for one, then there is the Zhian’tara when we undergo the transfer of personality which is when a host decides to take on a previous host identity.” He paused to allow her to soak in the information, “There’s also the ja’kala vok which is when the host tried to contact a specific previous host for guidance or information.” He stopped there to allow her to ask anyquestions.

Cerenity blinked and turned her head sideways. ” who am I talking to the simmbiont ,mister Ryder, or one of the personalities of the previous hosts?” She asked. She had flicked up that there were multiple personalities in Raauhl and now she was not sure who she was talk to. ” How do you know witch person you are” she asked.
Cerenity

“I am Ryder, well and I am Raauhl” He said confusingly, “Ryder is the Host and Raauhl is the Symbiote they dont take over our body but we co-exist in the same body sharing our thoughts and memories. It’s like talking to someone who has a parrot on their shoulder the entire time except Raauhl is a little more sentient if that makes any sense at all?”

” you know parents and other birds are just as complicated in there social behavior and canonization as we are right” she said turning her head sideways. Cerenity and Luna had a strong connection to birds. Infant the pare would not eat birds because of it. ” but I think I understand so your mister Ryder, and the symbiote is mister. Raauhl?” She asked still not totally getting it. ” why did you Decide to share your Body with Raauhl not all trill have symbiote right why.” She asked.

He nodded, “in its simplest form that would be correct. We decided to be joined because its just our way of life its an extreme privileged to become joined and in a way it means that I will live on not just in memory but through Raauhl as they Pass on from host to host until finally returning to the great lakes on Trill.” he paused smiling for a moment, “And yes the Trill population far outweighs that of the Symbiote population which recently has been dwindling and sometimes Trill just are not suitable for joining.”

“Why” cerenity asked. She was very confused by this point. ” why is it an honor and why are all trill not compatible” she elaborated. Then turned her head sideways. ” do all your rituals have to do with symbiotes?” She asked.
Cerenity

Raauhl had to think for a moment “Actually they mostly do, if not all of them are.” He shrugged “Its just how our culture works, its very similar to giving birth to a baby, we allow the Symbiote life and experience in return we they give us those experiences and they come with a few additional health bonuses as for why some Trill not being compatible well sometimes is physical sometimes its mental that’s like asking why sometimes I have a headache.” He explained, “Do you think perhaps we should call this enough for one day? I dont want to fry that brain of yours.” He said smiling.

” i think its more likely that your tired of answering my questions” cerenity giggled. She was teasing him now not in a mean way ether just having fun. ” I have one more question” she said with a smile. ” Can I come back to learn more?” She asked sweetly. She liked to learn she wasn’t to know everything about the universe she was definitely sumthing else.

Raauhl wondered what a conversation between Cerenity and Gen would be like or even Casela it seemed most of the females on board has a teasing streak to them, but in Cerentiy it was endearing. “Most definitely, I’ll organise it with your mum and then we’ll set up a time and date. I’m thinking we visit Trill in the holodeck for our next lesson and I can show you a ritual perhaps.” he scratched his chin. “Well I’ll have something planned.”

Cerenity smiled. ” Ok I think I’m sapose to go see miss Sondra next. I can get there by myself. She said getting up and smiling at Raauhl ” You should meet Luner he might actually like you. He was not a fan of the captain” she said giggling.
