The next member Vonn had met… and the exchange had been less than cordial. This time, it was not the computer’s voice but Vonn’s voice that said =/\= Ensign Luna. Report to the RCO office at once. =/\= Vonn went over to one of the crates and popped it open, retrieved a small black pouch and looked inside. Closing the crate, Vonn returned to the desk and sat and waited.

Vonn, RTF CO

=/\= sir ill be there as soon as possible.=/\= came luna’s voice across in response. A child could be hired asking when dinner would be rady.

About 5 minutes later Luna made it to the office. She knocked on the door she still had issues with ringing chimes. She was so use to the horrible sound that the one on the Viking made.
Ensign Luna

The door slid open silently and the room beyond came into view. It was an empty space at the moment, containing little more than a desk, three chairs, and a view screen. Four large crates with top of the line locks and access readers sat on the far side of the room from the desk. Vonn sat behind the desk and motioned to her to sit.

“Ensign Luna. I wish to know if you desire to stay on the RTF under my command or not. If you do, I would like you to tell me why I should agree to that.” said the mechanical, electronic voice devoid of feeling or emotion.

Vonn, RTF CO

Luna blinked, was this a joke because it was not funny. ” yes I do want to say in RTF, your arrival in sacurity was unannounced and set off alarms. What kind of respons did you expect?” She asked but did not give him time to respond. I’M her to protect lives. Because no one should suffer the way I did. You have already read my record you know I’m more then capable of doing my job” she said as she stepped into the room away from the moving door. Last thing she needed was for the door to slam and crush her bones. ” I have a question why should I trust you” she asked.
Ensign Luna

The helmeted figure didn’t move or twitch, but the voice answered immediately. “Whether or not you do is solely up to you. I am here to do a job. No more… no less. Your time on the RTF will be easier for and on you if you decide to listen to me and do as I say, but it is not required you trust me. As far as you being here to protect lives… that is your job in Security. Your role in the RTF is not to protect. It is to track, combat, contain, and imprison anomalous entities and beings, threats to the Federation. Failing that, our job is to eliminate that threat. And make no mistake. Many of the subjects we encounter will suffer greatly under the Federation’s ‘research’. I would recommend you come to terms with that now and not waste either of our times.”

Vonn, RTF CO

Luna glared at him her wings opening slightly the fethers along the top faced out in frustration. He did not answer her question and then when on about the RTF’s purpose. ” a series threat to others if they are left unchecked my goal parallels with the goal of the RTF team. Also the ARU conduct there experiment in a way that does not harm the anomalies.” Luna said. She watched this stranger she had heard of the Breen befor but know very little. The fact that he did not move was unnerving. The ensign tensed not liking the situation and feeling a bit trapped. ” Breath” she thought to herself.

This stranger was not her enemy. He was not exactly a friend or ally ether. But currently not a threat. ” I’m not leaving this team with out a fight. I worked hard to get here and I will not be over looked or underestimate because I’m not totally human” she said. She had met a lot of discrimination over the fact that some of her DNA was from a bird.

There was a longer pause from the unmoving figure before the voice came through again. “Your genetics are of no concern to me. You are. You are overerative, prejudiced, and overly protective of others. Learn to temper those proclivities or you will have no place on the RTF. You also assume the worst of a situation; and that, too, is problematic. No one mentioned you leaving. I have asked to convince me why you should remain. There is a difference in those things. I find your role within the RTF an issue… not your presence. At least not at this time. You, along with everyone else, will have to show me that your needed. As you are currently being utilized… you are not. That being said… you are also not being utilized to your fullest potential. That will change, if you wish to remain. So the only question is… do you wish to make those changes?”

Vonn, RTF CO

Luna blinked confused. ” How did you know that about my genetics?right i said that outloud
” She said just staring at him for a moment a bit lost . How could she say sumthing so stupid. She shook her head and re focused. ” What do you mean? I’m traind in hand to hand combat and phasers obviously as all sacurity were trained to fire a weapon. So I don’t understand what you mean” Luna said. It’s was clear Vonn had managed to throw her for a loop even as the thought about there stamens she just couldn’t see what they were on about. ” what other role do you think I would be better for” she asked.
Ensign Luna

The helmet kept motionless as the voice responded without emotion or inflection. “You are trained as a Security officer. I have no need of Security officers. Security officers are normal… predictable… and diplomatic. That has no place in the RTF. Additionally, regardless of your training, you simply do not have the mass to be utilized in a close combat situation. This is not a degradation of your ability, I am quite certain you are adept at such fighting. However, it is simply a matter of physics. With your abilities, you would better utilized in a role in which your mobility and speed would be of better use to the team. But the role I have in mind requires patience. Forethought. And the ability to remain undistracted and observant to a degree that I do not know if you possess. Until I know you can curtail your more aggressive tendencies, I will not waste the effort to train you in the other. Show me you can be focused and disciplined, and then we can discuss. But the question remains… do you believe you can make the changes I will require of you?”

Vonn, RTF CO

” i will do what ever I you ask you are my superior. My I point out you have never seen what I can do in a combat situation. Your clam that I can’t be focused or patient is simply not true, your not far from the mark with that aggressiveness. I sigest you put me in a situation where you can judge me fairly I would rather show you what I’m capable of then sit here and talk about it. What is this other role you are talking about your not going to keep me out of combat are you? ” She asked she was calm for now. She stood an a relaxed position her wig having folded closed. She was not at all thrilled about the idea of a new role.
Ensign Luna

“I have seen you in a situation where I could judge you fairly, Ensign. When I entered the Security section. Your instinct was to engage, posture, and threaten. The role I wish to see you in requires stealth, discretion, focus… and above all patience.” and the voice paused for a moment before speaking again.

“You were identified as a threat. I was not exactly trained to be stealthy.” Luna admitted.

“Scout - Snipers are not loud, Ensign. Nor are they threatening. They are a force multiplier… not force themselves. With your abilities and mobility, you would be ideally suited for such work. I simply don’t know if you have the mental fortitude to do it properly.”

Vonn, RTF CO

“Gess is a good thing my wings don’t make much noise when I fly” she thought. Then smiled at him. ” I enjoy a challenge so how about you train me if I can’t pass your training then you can kick me off your team.” She said. She thought for some. ” waght a minute you only want me in that role because I can fly don’t you” she asked. She was not exactly thrilled by that thought thought she had to admit thought many thats why section 31 had put her through that experiment.

“Again, it is a matter of mass. You have a small frame, less profile to see, easier to get into crawls or hides that others would not fit into. Your wings give you access to places that others would not, therefore they would not be looked at, and therefore you could remain undetected for longer… if you had the patience to do so.”

She looked back at him. ” do we have a deal or not” she asked.
Ensign Luna

“I do not make deals. I will not waste my time… or yours… teaching you to do a job that you can’t or won’t do. You will show me you can adapt to the needs of the role first. Then, and only then, will you get the training. Keep in mind Ensign, it is not my job to create a role for you. It is your job to show me you can do what is expected of you. If you want the training, then earn it.”

Vonn, RTF CO

“That fine but your going to need to tell me how and what you expect me to do in the mean time. The only way to realy know would be to train me and I will not fail” she said calmly.
Ensign Luna

The Breen sat quietly for a few moments before speaking. “Tomorrow morning. Four am. Go to the holodeck. I will have a program for you to run. It will take all day. Learn from it. Incorporate it into everything you do for the next seven days. If you can do that, not knowing when I will be watching you, then you pass. Pass, I train you. Fail, you are removed from the RTF. Those are your options.”

Vonn, RTF CO

” hold on, what do you mean by all day You probably don’t know I have a three year old child i need to fine someone to watch her i will need a time frame” she said. She was not trying to be insubordination argumentative or get out of the training. It was simply a matter of she needed be sure Cerenity was taken care of. ” befor you ask i do have sumthing in place for her should I be called on an away mission suddenly.” She added. She had a strange feeling that he would bring that up.
Ensign Luna

Vonn’s voice said simply “Then use that. Your daughter is not my concern. You doing the job is.”

Vonn, RTF CO

” Sir perhaps I’m not making myself clear im well aware she is not your problem however I need information for such trainings. Now by all day do you mean 24 hours or closer to 8 or 12 hours and if the training schedule changes I will need that information as well please. ” Luna said calmly. She simply needed the information she did not care what Vonn thought at this point. She would make sure her child was taken care of and not causing mehem that was the last thing she needed.
Ensign Luna

“Do you know how long an actual mission will take, Ensign? No. So… plan accordingly.”

Vonn, RTF CO

” understud. Is there anything else.” Luna asked calmly.
Ensign Luna

“Not at this time.” and the door to the office slid open. “Remember, Ensign. I will be watching. Put what you learn into practice.”

Vonn, RTF CO

” Of course” she said half wondering if he would judge her when she was parenting or teaching.
