OOC: Please all read - The RTF wants YOU!

Hey Leviathaners,

so you’ll all probably have noticed a rather terrifying-looking Breen stalking the corridors of the Levi! I’d first like to just say how amazed I’ve been with the posts so far from our new RTF Commander, James Sinclair. He has some truly interesting ideas for where to take the department and I’m looking forward to seeing what he comes up with next.

One of the things he’s discussed with me is the size of the RTF itself. We’re both in agreement that this would be a substantial unit onboard the Leviathan, partly due to the numbers required to take down some of our larger or more deadly anomalies, and also partly because being a member of the RTF on an ARU vessel is somewhat akin to being a highly-skilled redshirt.

With that in mind, we thought it might be fun to offer up the chance, for anyone who is interested, to create a second character to be a member of the RTF and who you can play during RTF missions/training scenarios. These second characters would be unrostered, so there would be no associated posting limits, they would just be for fun. Also, they need have no connection to your main character or their current department (so if your main character is a medical officer, you do NOT have to play a medic in the RTF). And finally, if your main character is already in the RTF then you would still be welcome to create a second character to also be in the RTF (although, unlike your main character, you wouldn’t be expected to RP their ‘day job’ as well).

Additionally, since the RTF is such a dangerous unit to be a part of, we thought it might be fun to up the stakes a little and allow for second character deaths. Now this is something we would control quite strictly - so each writer would have to give their express permission for a second character to be on the ‘potential kill list’ and they would have the option to remove their character from the list at any time. If you do want to have a go with this then once your second character dies, you’d be welcome to create a new second character to carry on playing (who again, you could choose whether to be on the ‘potential kill list’ or not). I think you all have the ability to rename your characters so I’d just suggest having the one “second character” record for the Levi and keep updating it with a new name (I don’t think this should cause any issues for Tech but will double check with them to be completely sure).

So, if this sounds like something you would like to be a part of then please reply below with the name of your second character and also whether you want them on the kill list or not. I’ll create all second characters when I see your posts then send you a PM/email once they’re ready to play.
