-USS Leviathan, Deck 11 between RTF Barracks and Cargo Bay 2-
(Snip)
Irida nodded, made sure the side zipper on her pack was open to give her access to the emergency containment apparatus and slowly reached up and released and opened the hatch. She paused to listen again and then stretched up to look, taking in the scene before placing both hands on the deck plating, one holding the Mark VII, and vaulting herself smoothly and quietly into the room and moving, low and quietly out of Vonn’s way. There was no room for mistakes now. With any luck the rest of the Black Devils were near by: Lehiw, Uh’jaw, Niven, and Trainor.

And of course they were, working their way as a group from the barracks towards their position.

Irida’s motion brought her into Franklin’s line of sight, and she into his. He was curled over the body of a young crewman, what was left of the boy. He’d been crying, praying, dragging the body toward sickbay… He looked rough. Uniform torn, bleeding in several places. Before he’d been clean-shaven from this morning… but now there were several days beard growth on his cheeks. His eyes were the worst. Dark eyes, but bright and shining with a terrible madness. The sort of madness only known to those who have suffered the unimaginable. He looked up and saw her.

Only this wasn’t the way to Sickbay…

This wasn’t the Augustine… Was it?

What the hell is happening?!

His heart jumped in his chest, the cortisol and adrenaline pulsed through his veins with an almost audible whooshing sound.

Who’s that?! She’s not crew… She’s not ours…

“INTRUDER ALERT!” He shouted, dropping the poor lad’s arm and pulling his Phaser.

What in God’s name is that behind her?!
“WHAT IN GOD’S NAME IS THAT?!” He screamed.

He fired wildly. One beam at her feet to slow her approach, and then a second over her shoulder at the Breen coming out of the hole.

Then a third, directed at irida’s chest. A kill shot.

-Franklin, Anomalous Individual

Vonn’s hand came crashing down hard on Irida’s shoulder and knocked her out of the way of the phaser shot. Simultaneously, the disrupter was snapped out of it’s holster with amazing speed and a beam of green energy erupted from the barrel of the type III and went directly at the dark eyed figure.

Irida was already dogging, dropping a quick shoulder roll, and was thankful she was already moving because Vonn’s shove could have crushed her shoulder if she hadn’t. (and of course we all know that Irida is prone to exaggeration.) She came back to her feet, Mark VII out and charging but she was 100% certain an electrical current wasn’t going to stop this thing, nor was the rail gun of any use. She took out a tricorder from her pack and began scanning the area trying to get a fix on what was casuing them to appear in normal space. Her headset was no longer showing them on the Gamma spectrum but in normal visual range. “I’m not sure that portable kit of ours is going to be enough to contain all this.”

OOC: I CLEARLY missed a lot. Y’all need me or should I sit this sim out?
-L

OOC: You are fine. Hop in. You could have been slowed down by the debris that just phased into the ship.

James

OOC: (Definitely jump in! Plenty of crazy to go around!)

He’d cried out as he fired the phaser, but whatever he’d been trying to scream died into silence as Franklin, the other Augustine crew members, and the wreckage around them all began to phase out again.

The green lance of disruptor fire hit Franklin before he phased completely.

Something strange happened.

As the rest of the Augustine returned to a phased-out existence, Franklin returned to a visible state, though he seemed to warp and flicker.

He looked at his hands, then he tried to fire the phaser again.

The beam passed harmlessly through Vonn.

Franklin screamed in rage and ran pell-mell toward where Irida and Vonn were now visible in the seeming absence of Augustine’s ghostly wreckage. The scream faded in and out of audible range as he ran, his form flickering every few steps. Not slowing, Franklin threw himself at the two RTF officers in an attempted tackle.

Only– Franklin passed directly through both Irida and Vonn, bodily, with a crackling surge of strange energy which sent a buzzing through their contact. This contact, though not physical, sent a surge of…energy?…memory?…experience?… through both Vonn and Irida. Immediately, both individuals witness a flash of cognizance, unlike anything they’d ever experienced. They would feel what Franklin and the Augustine had been through, the jumble of pain, chaos, endless changes in entropy and physicality… Countless deaths happening separately, together, all at once, and stretching into infinity and back. Dying, re-dying, undying. Forever. In the blink of an eye.

That energy burst, sending all three in different directions, physically. Like a small explosion.

Franklin somehow rolled across the deck and was on his feet before anything else happened.

He continued to run back down the corridor towards where Luna had been examining the woman called Parker. Only Parker was gone now, phased out again, floating away as the Augustine wreckage continued to drift haplessly through the Leviathan.

Upon seeing Luna, Franklin screamed again in terror and madness, physically throwing the phaser he still held in his hand at her, almost turning back the way he’d come, but halting in his remembrance of the terrifying sight of the Breen, which he’d seen through the phasing, beneath their Helmet.

Then the man collapsed into a heap on the Deck.

He shook uncontrollably and curled into a ball, weeping.

Surda rounded the corner just in time to come across the man, and she shot a curious look towards Vonn. She crouched down near the man on the ground, signing a question to Vonn as she did so. Is he hostile?
-Surda, CoS

The fear and swirl of conflicting other emotions and experiences had exploded into an impossible jumble of reality when Vonn’s shot hit him. Something had changed and now the others… He could feel them, connected somehow as if he were a ball of twine, and the Augustine and her crew were the string that made him up. He cried with them, died when they died, felt each bruise, each fear, each whisper or scream. Something surged through his body, burning away something… some level of his being. He couldn’t understand it, but something was irreparably broken. This fact hardened something in his psyche. The part of him that had taken an oath to lead and protect his crew decided without him. Now that he was dead, or dying, he’d no choice but to use that pain and death to destroy whatever had destroyed them…

He shuddered, but slowly regained control of his body, crackling energy running along his limbs and leaving trails as he moved…

Luna was startled by the suden disapprove of the woman she was trying to free. She balrly does the phaser that was thrown at her. She looked at the stranger in a heap on the deck. “He’s afraid” she thought as she aproched him slowly. Her steps light and carefully placed. Her wings were pulled in tight against her back in an attempt to look as no thretoning as possible. ” I’m Ensign Luna, Its ok your safe on a federation ship. Please let us help you” She said gently holding her right hand out as she crouched secrets feet from the man.
Ensign Luna

The voice from the helmet said “Don’t touch him, Luna. Back away. Afraid or not, it’s a threat.” The helmet swiveled to look at Irida. “Deploy containment. We will then take the anomaly to holding.” The helmet then looked at the man on the deck. =/\= RTF to Bridge. Anomaly partially contained. One subject for containment. Captain’s presence requested. =/\= was all Vonn said.

Vonn, RTF CO

Luna gave Vonn a strange look. She did not say he simply call her Luna. She was Ensign Luna, she did not apresheat him calling her without her rank. She slowly dropped her hand and moved awY several more feet but she remanded corched at the strangers level. She had a sneaking suspicion that the attempt to contane him was not going to go will at all.

When Vonn spoke to Luna, Franklin’s head snapped up and his eyes fixed upon the breen. If a look could freeze the blood, this was that look. Dark eyes bright with fever and madness, set with an unholy fire of determination, he stared at Vonn. “What have you done to my ship?!” His voice began as a whisper but crescendoed into a scream of rage. “YOU KILLED THEM!” frequency fluctuation and the crackle of strange energy distorted his screaming voice as he flickered visibly, appearing one second on the deck, and the next on his feet. An aura formed around him, and he began to float off the deck slightly…

About that time the rest of the Black Devils came through the door. Derrick Trainor, the sharp shooter, having heard weapons fire, came in phaser rifle at the ready, but pointed down, as he swept the area. “Lihew!” Irida called. The big burly Klingon was their containment specialist. Irida started pulling what looked like pattern enhancers out of her pack and setting them around Franklin as Lihew took scans with his tricorder trying to pinpoint exactly what frequency Franklin was fluctuating at so that he could program the enhancers to keep him stable. Niven, Vulcan and the team medic stood outside the containment area, one hand resting on her Mark VII the other holding a med kit, waiting to see where and if she might be needed. She looked at Luna, “Are there any others in need of medical aid?” Uj’aw, another Klingon and the last of the team entered and began sweeping the rest of the area, looking for pockets of anomalous energy, survivors, injured, and any of a myriad of other threats.

IC: “There was a women in need of medical attention. But she phased out with the rest of his ship.” Luna said. She was not sure if the women was lost or if it was possible to get the ship back and save her.
Ensign Luna

Then as the Black Devils began to surround the area, he was launching himself at Vonn, hands outstretched as if he would rend the breen limb from limb with them. He looked for all the world like some spirit of vengeance from an ancient storybook…

Elsewhere, there were a handful of yet-living phased crew members, including the woman Luna had seen. They had phased further, following the molecular changing of the Augustine itself. They could be scanned for and found; if the right frequencies were used before they drifted back outside of the Leviathan.
