A warning sounded indicating incoming casualties by transporter link as Casela’s body materialized directly onto a biobed.

  • NE Transporter Chief

Casela appeared on a bio bed, the change in noise level alerting her to having been moved somewhere. No klaxons warning of imminent warp core breach, but the relative silence of the sickbay with it’s insistent but relatively quiet beeping indicating life signs. “Where’s Gen?!” It was the only question she wanted answered. She was sure if they got her they got everyone else. She rolled off the bed moving towards a window, scanning the blackness for the other ship. She found it, an almost pin prick in the darkness. She couldn’t bring his body back, but she’d watch it blow. She owed him that much; it was her fault he was dead. She was the RTF member, she was the one that lived and breathed covert operations and she’d let her feelings and the trappings of rank influence her judgement and now he was dead. She pushed the medical staff away. She could feel the exertion edging her towards another seizure but whatever Knox had given her kept it at bay, but her nose began to bleed again. All minor inconveniences.

NE Starling was attempting to treat the wounds and examine the counsellor as she got to her feet. “Please Ma’am let us treat you.” She followed apparently unable to get a reaction from the distraught woman. Eventually, after a moment, she backed off on someone else’s order.

After the ship blew, she returned silently to the biobed. The medical staff could do whatever they wanted. She was numb to it all now.

Knox was waiting for her at the biobed. He looked mildly disheveled compared to his usual appearance. He watched the woman closely and put a hand on her elbow to help her get to the bed safely. “Will you allow me to examine and treat you properly.” He asked.

Dr Knox

“Did everyone else make it off?” She knew Ryder hadn’t, he was dead and you couldn’t bring back the dead, but everyone else: Gen, Surda, Durheim, Hampton, both Fenrir’s. Casela laid back on the biobed. “You look ruffled, Doctor. What’s wrong?” She stayed quiet after that letting him work. After awhile through the disorientation she spoke again. “When you deem fit, doctor. I need to speak with the Captain.” This quiet and polite request drew several surprised looks from the staff who knew Casela to never be so polite. But she grew quiet again after the request.
