Luna walked down the hall with a very unhappy Cerenity. ” Today is you day off mommy why do I have to go hang out with Gill” she said. The child was not happy to have there usual routine ruined. ” Because mommy wants to have some time to get to know the adults on this ship” Luna said as the reached Gills quarters. Cerenity glared her her mom. ” You can knick I’m not pressing the chime” she said crossing her arms and glaring at Luna. ” Ok Luna said and pressed the chime.

Gil had been freaking out since he stupidly, and actually absentmindedly, agreed to babysit Cerenity for Luna. He’d been hard at work calibrating containment units when she’d pestered him about it, and when he’d had enough of her begging and just decided to say yes to it he knew he’d made a grave mistake. But now he had to get ready to entertain a small girl, which was far more daunting than facing a horde of flesh eating, underground, worms in his mind.
When the chime went off he’d already finished cleaning his quarters and had set up some snacks, healthy but fun snacks, for Cerenity as well as some interesting board games, and if that failed to impress he’d managed to get a hold of a broken engine from an old shuttle. If that didn’t keep her distracted nothing would.
He answered and smiled at them. “Hi guys! How’s it going?”
