For some people, the shuttlepod would be cramped, it only had an impulse engine, a single control console, and a chair. Barely space to move around and not even a replicator. Adam preferred this over a shuttlecraft or a runabout any day. He had asked the USS Ketter to keep it in its cargo bay and drop him in it on the rendezvous location, it was small, expendable, and stealthy. Barely emitting any signals and could be overlooked by any but the most attentive sensor operators making it perfect for flying around a system unseen and unbothered. It was risky of course but how else could one learn anything without taking risks. This wasn’t necessary at all and Captain Anloa had argued against it but Adam was insistent on it, this was the third such dropoff he’d made so far, none of which had been recorded and each done as a favor. It was overly complex and overtly secretive but that was the point, it was a signal flair to a certain type of people, soon enough if anyone asked two dozen ships would be rumored to have picked up a strange pod and dropped it off a few lightyears away. Soon rumors would float in certain circles that he’d made his way across the Neutral Zone and into Romulan space.

Again starting these sorts of rumors was unnecessary, he could simply have disappeared on Earth, snuck on a Cargo hauler headed in his general direction but that would ring a different kind of alarm, make certain people nervous. People that had a reason to shiver when Adam Magnusson disappeared from the face of the Earth both figuratively and literally and he didn’t want that to happen… yet. This time there wouldn’t be another ship scheduled to travel these parts for a few days and he had supplies for a few days gathered from the Ketter same as he had on the other ships.

The short man stood up and started stretching for a few moments before sitting on the floor cross-legged and started meditating to pass the time in quiet contemplation. There was another reason for the ruse, he wanted more time to read over the files he’d been granted, all kept on a single secure PaDD. He had already spent months learning what he could about the secretive organization he now belonged to, apparently, he was to know more than most he’d serve with, not an unusual thing for someone in his field but still this was more intelligence than he’d normally have on a single Starship. Beyond his duties there was someone he had to speak with, someone he didn’t know would be there until he’d been given the crew roster, an unexpected event but one he would follow through with.

He wasn’t sure how much time had passed when the senor board beeped letting him know that a vessel had dropped out of warp and he stood up smoothly and turned to the viewscreen. A Mjölnir class vessel, almost a kilometer long, nearly 2000 crew, over a dozen phaser banks and arrays, more than most vessels, and four torpedo tubes. It was an impressive class of ships for certain. He sent the signal and general hail and moments later he had been transferred over to the Leviathan, prepared for his new duties.

CIO - Adam

OOC: Fantastic first post, Hjortur! Adam sounds like our kind of secretive and mysterious!

IC: As was his customary practice, Zachariah Cobb was present to greet the newcomer, although at that precise moment the captain’s attention was not fixed on the arriving officer, but on a small viewscreen and, through it, Magnusson’s mode of transport.
“Not a fan of luxury travel, eh?” he remarked, turning finally to face the CIO and extending one hand out in greeting, while the other hooked a thumb in the direction of his vessel. “Well, the Leviathan will give you ample opportunity to stretch your legs after what must have been an uncomfortable journey. In fact, how about we get started on that right away. Let us head for my ready room and get you checked in officially.”

Adam took a few steps forward and took his new Commanding Officers proffered hand “Comfort is unnecessary, Sir” He said simply joining the man.

His own enthusiasm untempered, Cobb cut a path out into the corridor, glancing at the last moment to ensure that Adam was following as he added, somewhat belatedly, “Cobb. Captain Zachariah Cobb, commanding officer of this fine vessel and occasionally even the man in charge,” he concluded with a laugh.

  • Captain Zachariah Cobb

“Lieutenant Commander Adam Magnusson, Sir” His voice was surprisingly deep for his stature, small and seemingly thin. He clasped his hands behind his back and walked by the Captains right side never more than a half step behind.

At about that Cerenity came around a corner and crashed right into the captain. She blinked at looked up at the two men a bit startled. ” Hi Mr. Zachariah I think I’m lost.” She said her face turning red. “I was trying to get to the lounge the one with the fish” she said then looked to the new man behind the captain. ” Mr Zachariah who is your friend Iv never sean him before.” She asked. Then waved at the stranger. ” Hi I’m Cerenity” she added.

OOC: I couldn’t resist a bird kid apperice. If it’s a problem feel free to ignore the post.

Cerenity ( Ensign Luna’s 4 year old)

Adam cocked his head at the child’s appearance, the young girl reached his chest and he looked into her eyes, his features softening. He knew who this child was “Hello Cerenity, I’m Adam” He gave the faintest hint of a smile, he’d always liked children “My cousin Peter spoke of you, he said you’re quite the explorer” His tone lost its formality but he spoke the same way as he would to an adult albeit in a friendly manner.
