Lance was sitting in the brig behind a force field unfortunately he was on the wrong side of it. Unfortunately the very important Klingon was so embarrassed that he got tossed on his own butt That he threatened actions to be taken against him so now his ship has left and he is in the Brig awaiting his Fate or the possible court-martial

The silence was broken by the rhythmic sound of footsteps across the metallic floor. A moment later and a gentleman appeared in front of Von Hellsing’s cell. Tall, with boyish features framed by silver-white hair, the insignia on the man’s collar marked him as an Admiral.

“Dr Von Hellsing?” he asked redundantly, lips curling into a deviously mischievous smile. “Enjoying your time in the brig? Or perhaps you are in the mood to consider making a deal?”

  • Admiral Roebuck

Lance leaned back on the wall “ ok admiral what do I have to do but just to let you know I do not trust that Klingon somethings not right with him because after his ass met the ground his face shifted. Anyway what do you have in mind what kind of deal”

“Yes,” the Admiral mused distractedly, “we have the Klingon under observation. To be frank, Dr Von Hellsing, you were lucky to escape with your life. You see,” he stepped forward, his nose almost touching the invisible barrier that separated himself and the prisoner, “that was no ordinary Klingon.”

Another smile, fleeting and shark-like, as Roebuck retreated to lean against the opposite wall. “But then I suspect you already knew that. In fact, I suggest it was that very same Klingon who led you here, to our base? Such knowledge is dangerous, Doctor, if left unchecked. It would not be…advisable to see it fall into untrustworthy hands. Better to be part of the system than against it, if you catch my drift. So my question to you, Lance Von Hellsing, is, can I trust you?”

  • Admiral Roebuck

Lance smiled “ you are smarter than you look admiral so you know the Klingon is a mimic the real Klingon died some time ago most likely killed by the mimic and yes I had orders from my family i have been hunting it for a year now” then he looked into the admiral eyes “ you already know you can trust me but can I trust you to see this through”

Roebuck snorted out a laugh. “The Klingon is a mere annoyance to us. A tiny fly on our vast cosmic windshield. We can assign him to permanent containment if that is your desire. Or we can set him loose for you to begin your hunt anew.”
He locked eyes with the other man.
“But I would like to suggest a far worthier use for your unique talents. Tell me, Doctor, are you familiar with the Anomaly Recovery Unit? They could use a man like you on their flagship and I suspect you in turn could find a great deal of satisfaction from their missions.”

Lance looked at the admiral “ the what now” he said puzzled. Was there a group of Starfleet officers that are monster hunters like him.

The Admiral roared with laughter. “It is good to know that our efforts to maintain secrecy have been successful. Apologies, Doctor, my question was a rhetorical one. For nobody in the Federation hears of the ARU by accident. So, allow me to offer a deliberate explanation.”

Reaching for a nearby stool, Roebuck settled himself onto it as if preparing to read a bedtime story to an audience of enraptured children.
“I was twenty-three years old when I first encountered the Borg. Back then I was an engineer on a deep space outpost, honing my skills on hotfix repairs to passing Federation vessels. Three Borg drones had stowed away on a skeleton-crewed dreadnought and waited patiently to reach wider civilisation. By the time the drones had been neutralised, we had lost sixty percent of the station’s personnel and about the same again in visitors.”

The man paused and ran a hand through his snow-speckled hair. “It took many years for the Borg to be usurped, in my mind, as the ultimate threat to our existence. It took learning of, and coming into contact with, an anomaly. Put simply, Doctor Von Hellsing, anomalies are the deadliest and most terrifying entities known to man. Their composition is as varied as the chaos left in their wake. But there is one thing that every one of them has in common - that for our universe to survive, they must be taken out.”

He smiled. “That is where the ARU comes in. Their mission, and yours if you choose to accept it, is to track down, capture and contain all entities of this nature. It is an incredibly difficult, incredibly dangerous task. But I suspect it is a challenge that you would enjoy attempting to meet.”
