OOC: Perhaps the XO finds Reira?

IC: 31… They knew, they knew about John and they likely knew he was here too. If they were interested in his husband’s research into the nefarious Reman Imps he heard about so many years ago, what else did they want with this ship? While the dimensional anomalies likely kept him safe from a direct assault, Reira had no idea if any of the crew were planted by the nefarious organization, had stealing John McHarrie and his work been an inside job with the help of their spies? Paranoia was a ridiculous, weak emotion he was supposed to be above, but when everyone around you could be reporting what you said or did to the people he’d been fighting for most of his adult life, it made sleeping soundly in his alcove harder.

He had to know, not just for his own safety but the safety of everyone onboard. Reira wasn’t about to let these people get entangled in some awful scheme that’d get them all killed, Section 31 would have no problem disposing of the Leviathan once it had run it’s course. Kara, Luna and Crenity were here, he had to protect them. Going to one of the lower levels, he soon accessed a terminal. What he was doing could land him a court martial or time in the brig, but that was inconsequential. He had to make sure the people on here were who they said they were. Tapping at the console, it kept refusing to allow him access, citing “Security Level Inadequate, Please Request Assistance from Senior Officer”. Blow that, they might be in on it.

Making sure no-one was in the room, Reira held his fist over the panel and his assimilation tubules shot out, injecting the computer bank with Borg Nanoprobes. The indigo-haired drone gasped as his mind connected to the computers, going well past the LCARS interface. He was right into the machine code itself, the machine code that only made sense to a handful of people and himself. Everything here was Qubits, simultaneously 1 and 0. Survival and Extinction, it’s how the Borg saw everything. “Warning, Command Console being hacked, War- The voice was soon silenced by a Borg algorithm. “I’m not hacking you, stupid machine. I’m interfacing with you on a level you’re not used to.” While he was like this, with the right amount of time and code, nothing was beyond his ability as he began a network interface between himself, the Leviathan main computer and his own shuttlecraft.

USS Nova Luna - CONNECTED

That would up their processing power a bit, so long as he wasn’t discovered, everything would be fine. Their thoughts were one.

Lt j.g. Reira Akaba (Science)

Unknown to the Science officer he wasn’t the only one worried about Section 31, they had a direct link to his life through Casela and who knew else so Raauhl being the efficient officer he was had used his time on the Starbase well, it seemed his own worry extended past that of the Leviathan but the entire organisation of the ARU. In response, Raauhl had been given the mandate to ensure the safety and security of the Leviathan and its secrets. The ARU wasn’t ‘at war’ with section 31 but it was certainly keeping its guard up. Section 31 infiltration into the daily routine of the ARU was not acceptable, and though it was aware of agents so far there had been no foul play.

In bed and alone Raauhl was awoken by the vibrating on his wrist. It was the device made for him by a very sleazy Ferengi but the tech checked out, an air-gapped device that could connect to the ship’s systems remotely without leaving a trace, lets just say with Casela’s involvement in Section 31 he had been left paranoid. Touching the small bracelet which looked nothing more than a men’s piece of jewellery a holographic emitted from his wrist. The information pertaining to a security breach, nature unknown, type borg.

Shifting out of bed Raauhl knew exactly who to see.

Getting dressed and making his way through the corridor, the route took him to the lower decks and at this time a lesser-used passage, he wasn’t surprised to see Lieutenant JG Reira Akaba, his tubels inside the control panel. “Lieutenant are you ok?” He asked playing the dumb unaware executive officer he assumed section 31 thought he was, either by turning a blind eye because of Casela or just not knowing. To him, Section 31 was a plague.

So far, nothing. Either Section 31 had been more efficient than usual or they really weren’t touching the Leviathan for the moment. Probability of his father mounting an incursion reducing to 5.4 percent. Calculations continuing, he really didn’t want to leave any stone unturned, leave anything unseen. Despite knowing that this was a breach of privacy, he had to keep them safe. One couldn’t allow a wolf into the herd of sheep lest you wanted your flock eaten and your family hungry after all. Possibility B that they had left them alone due to ARU having their guard up was growing increasingly likely, the anomalies may very well be making the secret agents reconsider their tactics since one wrong move and they were all going into oblivion.

“Commander…” He stated, not retracting his tubules for a second as the interface continued, turning to face Raauhl as best he could considering one of his hands was currently occupied. “I’m perfectly well. I’m interfacing with this terminal, I couldn’t be as precise as I desired so I decided to perform a direct interface with the machine code. I’m sorry if this has tripped any protocols, I wasn’t aware of any in place.”

Raauhl looked at the Lieutenant wearily, “Well the idea is to catch anyone out doing things they should so guess it works. What is it you are trying to accomplish?” The Trill officers hand fell to his rear as he clasped his hands behind him and waited expectedly. There was no reason that he could fathom for anyone to try and improve the ship Borg or not and in Ryders mind there was only some kind of espionage at hand.
