OOC: Absolutely anyone is welcome to jump in here…

IC: Ensign Anderson was sure. He’d walked this gangway daily patrolling blue containment bays one and two. And yesterday, the wall at which he was currently staring had been different.
The ten-inch, reinforced tritanium, barrier that surrounded computer core section E was decorated on its cylindrical outer face by familiar components - a singular biometric scanner offering access through a singular, triple-plated door. Plus several terminal screens displaying core temperature, ambient pressure and other key performance metrics of the Leviathan’s entire computer estate.

But what hadn’t been present yesterday on the blue-tinged metal surface, sitting just overhead of the doorway and about the size of a standard poker chip, was a curious black spot. Closer inspection would reveal it to be less black and more an absence of any colour, as if one was peering through a hole and into the void beyond. Except this was not a hole, it was solid, and somewhat fuzzy to the naked eye, although Anderson was not foolish enough to confirm that suspicion by touch.

Still, as he continued to stare, as he had been doing for the past several hours, he fancied he could see the strange fuzz moving. As if undulating in a gentle but undetected breeze…

  • NE Anderson

Hellsing was watching from the shadows “ boy how long have you been on board for… on a ship full of monsters if you see something different like that you don’t contact someone immediately. Do you know what son you were what people will call the first red shirt to die” he said walking out of the shadows with a small containment capsule to place around the thing. “ I don’t know what this is but The tri Corders are Giving un conclusive scans so until we know more we’re going to keep it contained in this area…. But next time get someone just don’t continue to stare at it who knows what could’ve happened it could’ve killed your butt” he then got up and tapped his Com =A= dr. Hellsing to Containment Chief we have a possible breach can you please come down here now =A=

Dr. Hellsing
Lt. Lance Von Hellsing

At the sound of Hellsing’s voice, the ensign visibly started, as if woken suddenly from a deep and all-encompassing sleep.
“Oh! I…I was…I was just watching it. I…”
He turned to Lance with teary, unfocused eyes. “Do you see it? Moving? I don’t like the way it moves.”

  • NE Anderson

Lance put his hands on the ensign shoulders and looked into the mans eyes “ok ensign I need you to focus on me can you tell me your name and rank” he asked. Lance was thinking this thing had the ability to Compel something to touch it. Like a Venus fly trap.

Dr. Hellsing
Lt. Lance Von Hellsing

“I?” Anderson replied, eyes staring through Hellsing to some unseen point at his back. “I am the watcher.”
A shudder, then suddenly the man’s eyes grew wide, frantically scanning the deck as if for the very first time. So too this stranger before him, although the robustness of Hellsing’s demeanour did much to steady the other man.

“Ensign Thomas Anderson, Sir,” he finally declared, casting off his former confusion like a shroud. “Security. Containment patrol. Bravo shift. Sir.”
He stood now at full attention, eyes focused almost exclusively on the engineer, although every so often would come a brief and furtive glance to the top of the core wall…

  • NE Anderson

Hellsing looked at him in the eyes “quod in lucem in lucem Domini. in nomine Spiritus sancti idcirco praecipio tibi ut ab hoc vasa pretiosa. In nomine patris et filii et spiritus sancti”

(latin spell to remove outside Influence from a person mind)

Dr. Hellsing
Lt. Lance Von Hellsing

“That does not sound like Klingon,” came a new voice, followed seconds later by the appearance of a woman. Tall and muscular with features that displayed an exotic blend of Klingon and Japanese, she was dressed head to toe in black, a large PADD tucked under her left arm and a bottle of bloodwine grasped by her right.

Reaching the two men, she held out the bloodwine to Hellsing, then with her newly-free hand brought it sharply across Anderson’s left cheek.
“I find a cold shock to be equally effective,” she commented, taking Anderson by the shoulders and resting him against the nearest wall. Then, turning once again to Hellsing, she indicated with a finger to the mysterious black spot. “So, there are more of them. I have spent the past two hours studying one in the corner of my lab. And have heard reports of another on deck fourteen and yet another in the bubble on deck 1.”

Forehead ridges deepened as she considered a seemingly-alarming thought. “Have either of you made physical contact with it?”

  • Kara Nakuto (Consultant Researcher)

Hellsing looked at her “ I have enough common sense not to touch the thing I’m not familiar with but num num there Was being compelled to touch it. I was about to put a Containment field around it that is when Anderson started act weird”

Dr. Hellsing
Lt. Lance Von Hellsing

Kara shot a look towards Anderson, before adding to Hellsing, “One of my lab assistants appeared to suffer from similar effects. Acting ‘weird’, as you say. As if in a trance.”
She frowned. “Raise the containment field. I shall organise a unit to search every inch of this ship for any more of these black spots. And order a chemical analysis of the one that I found in my lab.”

  • Kara Nakuto (Consultant Researcher)

Lance smiled as he placed an containment field around the spot. “ once you get the data on these things can you send me a copy I’ll give you a barrel of blood wine for it 2566 vintage” he said with a small smile.

Dr.Hellsing
Lt. Lance Von Hellsing

At the mention of bloodwine, the half-Klingon presented her most polished, sharp-toothed grin.
“That, my friend, is a generous offer,” she replied. “One that I am more than willing to accept.” And with that she retreated down the corridor in the direction of her lab.

Against the far wall, Anderson continued to stir. “What about me?” he called out, voice still somewhat drowsy from the after-effects of the trance. “I discovered it. Do I win anything?”

  • Kara Nakuto (Consultant Researcher) and NE Anderson

Lance looked at Anderson “yes you get a kick in the ass and a trip to sickbay let’s go” he said pushing him out of the room.

Dr.Hellsing
Lt. Lance Von Hellsing

A tall and imposing figure encased head to toe in a kind of armor blocked the way. “Protocols dictate a point to point transport of the potentially infected or compromised to the biocontainment lab inside sickbay.” a synthetic and wholly artificial voice said, issuing form a sealed helmet with only a sickly-green visor to indicate any kind of vision. “And anyone who has had contact with them. So that means you as well, Lieutenant.” An arm raised up and the Breen flipped open a wrist-mounted computer and began tapping in commands.

Vonn, RCO

Lance stepped past him “nope the spots are all over the ship. And it will be a cold day in hell when I take orders from a breen” Lance walked the Officer down the hall sickbay was at the end of the hall.

Dr. Hellsing
Lt. Lance Von Hellsing

Allowing a glance over his shoulder towards the Breen, Anderson aimed a nervous shrug towards Hellsing. “Ah, perhaps we should listen to the RTF Chief? They are the expert on anomalies, after all.”

  • NE Anderson

Lance looked “ and I am a doctor on them I hold serval PhD’s on supernatural and natural, i’ve been around monsters in the unknown my whole life. And I’ve also worked closely with the SCP foundation So I doubt he knows more about monsters and what to do than me. The so-called protocol he is claiming would be reasonable if we had direct contact with this thing but we didn’t touch it now did we. And frankly he’s not up to make that call it’s up to the chief medical officer not him”

Dr. Hellsing
Lt. Lance Von Hellsing

Vonn didn’t speak, he simply tapped the wrist mounted computer on his arm and a containment field flashed into being around the two figures. As the fields came into place, and the helmet swiveled to look at the two men. “When you are done in Sickbay and the containment is complete, come see me Lieutenant. Or don’t, entirely up to you. But that will make your tenure here quite short.”

Vonn then turned to look Nakuto and said “Now… where are we with the subject?”

Vonn, RCO

The half-Klingon had been making her retreat when Vonn arrived, but at the unmistakable sound of the Breen she turned and retraced her steps to the site of the incident.
“That,” she pointed with outstretched finger to the curious black spot, “is one of about a half-dozen so far that we have found. Initial sampling suggests a eukaryotic organism, potentially formed from a vast number of multicellular filaments.”
She glanced down the corridor towards Hellsing and Anderson. “Observation also suggests that close contact with the substance can have a somewhat hypnotic effect. That is all we have discovered so far, Chief.”

  • Kara Nakuto (Consultant Researcher)

OOC: James G, I’ll leave it for you to decide if Hellsing and Anderson are still here or en-route to sickbay

OOC: well let’s say the containment fields are still up but I can easily shut them down well that be all right with you

OOC: Edited my response to erase the transport.

“Opaque containment units and no one with the organism for more than ten minutes. RTF collection and transport are on their way now. If you could tag each known location, we will try and get them cleared immediately and sent to the containment labs.” The helmet nodded once and then the Breen turned and looked at the two individuals in the containment field. The visor focused on the Lieutenant. “Lieutenant Von Hellsing. I am Chief Warrant Officer Kodek Vonn. I am the Commander of the Recovery Task Force. To your statement -” and suddenly the voice shifted to an exact copy of Von Hellsing’s own, “- ‘The so-called protocol he is claiming would be reasonable if we had direct contact with this thing but we didn’t touch it now did we. And frankly he’s not up to make that call it’s up to the chief medical officer not him.’ -” and the voice switched back “- is in error. I am the authority until the anomaly has been contained. And the exposure protocol was developed in conjunction with Medical, Science, and Engineering… so it is approved and you will abide by it. Now… this is neither the time nor place for such discussion. Report to sickbay per the protocols or I will transport you there myself. After this we will talk. Understood? Good.” and the Breen turned back to Nakuto.

Four members of the RTF C&T team arrived and stood by Vonn. The Breen pointed at the ‘spot’ and then said “Follow the directions of Commander Nakuto. Possible mental compromising features have been reported. On your toes, and look out for one another.”

Vonn, RCO
