After checking in with the COS, Phil headed up to deck 11 to report to the RTF Commander.

He rang the chime to the Commander’s office and waited for permission to enter…

The doors slid open without a sound to reveal the office beyond.

It was the most spartan-looking office ever. A desk and two chairs in front of it. A very long and wholly menacing rifle standing in the corner. And seated at the desk, unmoving… was a Breen. There was no motion, no movement. As Phillip entered the room, a voice issued from the helmet of the seated figure. “Staff Sergeant. How may I be of assistance?”

Vonn, RCO

Phil marched and stood to attention before the Breen office.

“Staff-Sergeant Philip Hewson-Williams reporting for duty, sir,” he said in his deep English voice.

-Phil

The Breen didn’t move, but the voice said “Understood. Please sit. You are reporting for duty… very well. Tell me why you are assigned to the RTF.”

Vonn, RCO

Phil politely accepted the offer of a seat.

“I do not know, sir, I guess the corps wants me here,” Phil replied before elaborating, “But if I were to guess, I would imagine that the unique role of the Leviathan needs a team that is equally unique and diverse in skills & experience.”

-Phil

There was still no movement form the Breen, but the voice said “Diversity in skill sets is always a good thing Staff Sergeant. So why don’t we begin with you telling me what skills and experience you bring to the RTF.”

Vonn, RCO

“I believe that my record speaks for itself,” Phil replied. His record showed that he had served for many years as a field medic and seen active service on a number of conflicts. During conflicts his medical knowledge had been used to encourage co-operation at interrogations. He had also spent a short time on a secondment to fleet as the CMO of the Academy Training ship.

“Aside from the basic skill of knowing when and when not to shoot that every Marine & Fleet security officer has I am capable of quick study and analysis of enemies and providing emergency treatment to any mission team without the need of putting any of the fleet doctors at risk,” He clarified, “I understand our objective is containment of anomalies rather than extermination.”

-Phil

“And what do you know of the anomalies we face? Have you seen them? Dealt with them before?”

Vonn, RCO

“No, I do not,” Phil replied, “But as soon as I am certified for duty and logged in to the ships systems I will have the access to be able to review logs and visit some of the ships… guests.”

-Phil

There was a pause before the voice spoke again. “Very well. Before we continue, what questions do you have? And feel free to ask anything. Nothing is off-limits here.”

Vonn, RCO

“I cannot think of anything at the moment, sir,” Phil replied, “But of anything comes to mind I will let you know”

-Phil

Another pause and the voice from the helmet said “Do you have now or will you have issues taking orders from one of my kind?” Vonn asked flatly. “And be honest. I take no offense. I simply need to know where we stand.”

Vonn, RCO
